Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Laurent Blanc met with the executive director of Chelsea [Marina Granovskaia] in London. Both parties discussed the terms of a contract, and Blanc could appoint Franck Passi as his assistant. (RMC)

Although no agreement was found, negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days. (RMC).

It is worth noting that THE MAIN REASON we are after Blanc is because he is a more cheaper option. Chelsea were not willing to pay Sarri's clause and Enrique's demands were too high.

“Roman Abramovich’s personal favourite and number one, is still Maurizio Sarri.” [Diego De Luca/Kiss Kiss Napoli]

No matter what hapoens be proud mates, we are champions of London, champions of England, champions of Europe.

A really out there option could be Ariel Holan. Worked wonders with Independiente and won the Copa Sudamericana whilst playing some amazing football.

I must admit I have never heard of Horan, but I'm very much in favour of any manager who plays the kind of football his teams play!

Anyone but Blanc!!!!!

If we end up with Blanc my season ticket is going back. We shouldn't need to appease the cack media just because Sarri is a controversial figure. Does every team have to have a Pochettino where the sun shines out of their bum?

They all write a load of negative rubbish as it is. Changes nothing imo.

At this point in time RA in particular & Chelsea in general really don'tneed  to pick fights with anyone unless absolutely necessary.

As for returning your season ticket that really will hit them where it hurts won’t it.

If we're really going for the cheaper option instead of paying 8m for Sarri, when we spent 35m on Drinkwater, 40m on Bakayoko, 28m on Zappacosta, etc.., etc... then it'll be a absolute joke and sign of bad things to come.

Ohh God.....where the f**k are we heading.....Of course we dont know with absoluite facts what the fack is going on. but looking from the outside, you cant possibly be content how we do sh*t. Lack leaders, ruthlesness and with zero plan to better oyr situation. We go for A and B.....end up dragging the sh*t out of it and then grab option D and E in panic......just f**king get sarri and be done with it.

Kiss Kiss Napoli report Sarri still being the favourite so far with the others following in behind. I'm guessing Marina or whoever in question are trying to reach an agreement with ADL regarding the release clause and if no other alternatives pop up than we will end up paying £8m (or euros not pounds) in the end.

Good point.

Chelsea's cheap options usually doesn't turn out to be cheap in the end anyways. Over £120(!) million on Baka, Ross, Zappa and DD comes to mind.

Laurent Blanc FFS , you have a great manager, probably one of the best 3 in the world and you go for Blanc?? that is madness for me

Out of interest did Conte ever play with a back 4 at Juve?

cause Conte did not play the free flowing football which Bakayoko and Drinkwater are capable of

he personally made sure Moratta doesn't score any goals

and didn't bring Barkley and Pedro when needed ,who can change the game in an instant

Seriously there needs to be a discussion between Conte and the board. Egos need to be put aside and a way forward agreed. That should include the sales of Willian, Kenedy and Luiz and any others undermining him.

We then should focus our attention on stregthening our midfield and getting on with winning next years Europa League and making a tilt for the title.

I would like things to get sorted with Conte, but i just don't think it's possible now. The ill feeling between him, the board and the players is impossible to fix now. I don't blame everything on Conte, the players and the board are just as responsible for the poor season, but his attitude all season has been awful. He's been going on like he hasn't got a squad that are at all capable of competing, but i just don't buy that excuse. This squad overall is better than both Liverpool's and Tottenham's, and could have easily finished in the top 3. Conte's tactics and approach to games this season has been cowardly and without any belief that the squad can get a result.

The transfer windows may well have not played out as he and the rest of us would have liked, but it's not been anywhere near as disastrous as Conte has made it out to be. It's not like Liverpool and Tottenham were signing world class players themselves, the difference is that their manager got on with things and kept them together as a team. Conte went the opposite way though, he failed to keep the team together.

But even though i say all of this, i would still much rather have Conte than Laurent Blanc.

Conte can't be blamed for that. If Morata took his 1v1 chances, then he would have scored 20+ goals this season. The guy bottled it this season.

If we really wanted Blanc surely we'd have signed him by now. These things can be done very quickly. Look at the Unai Emery situation at Arsenal. They identified him, they interviewed him, they hired him, all in a matter of days, or hours. This is what gives me hope. Every day I wait in dread to hear we've signed Blanc but the fact it hasn't happened leads me to believe the club are still hoping to aim higher. If we sign Blanc, or Enrique for that matter, I think I'm going to lose interest in football for a while. It really will be a sickener.

Don't get me wrong, Blanc is far from my first choice, but he has a track record of success every where he's been. Yet by the comments on here you'd think he's Alan Pardew

yes at the very beginning but since we had a great midfield with Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio and very poor wingers he moved from a 442 to a 352/532 formation after a dozen games . Previously he had used mostly a very offensive 424 setup when he won Serie B titles with Bari and Siena. Given the right players he knows how to play a line of 4.

I did not see many matches this year but in those that I saw it was clear he was not happy and excited as last year, clearly something went wrong with your management and in the dressing room. Mind you Antonio is a major pain in the ass and not an easy fellow to deal with, but that is due to the level of pressure he puts upon himself and all those that work with him. Despite all his faults I believe he is brilliant and a winner like noone else and he should be the center of a project. The league was not positive for a number of reasons but you still managed to win a cup and would have deserved to go thru vs Barca.

Most of the names that are on the list it look like a joke to me compared to Antonio, it would be like having Messi in your team and considering swapping him for Fellaini because he is not a very nice guy
