When you are looking for wing backs, you want them to be attacking minded.

Obviously, but to a level. He was ahead of Pedro on a number of occasions in the first half when we weren’t even attacking. Think Conte had a word at half time because his positioning was much better.

Someone needs to tell Scott to remember to eat.

Mount was a bit like that, but filled out a bit since then. Scott could probably do with putting some muscle on, doesn't have to be the biggest though.

Nicely done, would have been nice to have gone for it more in the 2nd half, but whatever, we're through.

Willian has to start against Barcelona, he's in much better form than Pedro right now. I'm just worried that he will go with Pedro because he took him off so early in the game and gave Willian the whole match.

Good win.

2nd half we looked sloppy in parts but we seemed to half taken our foot off the throttle.

thought giroud had a good game 2 assists and a goal.

Very true. The Man City's, Spurs, Scouse, Barca's of this world wouldn't have gone home. They would have scored 8 tonight. Its reverting to sloppy type again. Shame, it looked like we would clear out a lot of cobwebs tonight. Modern football. Do just enough and f**k the paying punter

To be fair some might be thinking about Barca, work you bollocks off tonight and probably not be in the best shape for midweek

Don't know what you guys see in Hudson Odoi to be honest. Haven't seen him in the youth team but in the senior games I've seen him in, he hasn't done anything I remember. I'm even more impressed with Scott and I've only seen him play like 10 minutes now.

Also, Ampadu is quality. Sell Cahill.

what? Ampadu and Hudson Odoi look like players that could come in to first team but Scott is still a bit off, yes good feet but also makes mistakes (normal for youngstrs) like the ball to the middle were Amapdu saved the shot in the end. It is not Hudson fault that the team decided to switch off because we are 4-0 up.

Agreed, looked better in the final third with him on. Who would start him over Morata? I'm guessing most.

Good win. Hull were very poor though, so nothing to get carried away with. Would have been nice to attack more in the 2nd half, give Hudson and Morata a chance to get on the scoresheet, but suppose the players didn't see the point with the game won.

No space for him. It will be 3-5-2, with Hazard behind the striker.

dull second half, but we did all the hard work first half. Glad to see scott finally make his debut, I don't think he will make it here, but he's been on the bench a few times this year without getting on.

CHO was neat and showed flashes, but it was difficult for him to show off what he can do with the game at walking pace.

Willian was unbelievably good.

Willian MOM. Very good first half display. Giroud scored. All in all a good performance but Barca will pose us very different problems. Fabregas had loads of time and space and he was in his element but he gave a penalty away which is the second match on the trot. The ref missed the penalty against West Brom. Fabregas is massively creative but he can't tackle to save his life. God knows what he would be like against Barca. The midfield will decide the match against Barca but that's where we are weak. Only Kante impresses me. Nice win tonight onwards to Tuesday night That will be very tough. KTBFFH.

Thought Hudson-Odoi did ok, 4-0 up he didn't need to risk possession turnovers by turning on the style.

Scott showed glimpses of quality but I can't help but feel his lack of physicality could be a burden for the team, i.e. Fabregas.

Ampadu solid again.

Willian - world class.

Get in. Good win & a great first half performance which allowed us to slow the pace down and take it easy in preparation for Barca on Tuesday.

Willian was brilliant if only he could show that form against every side he'd be one of the best in the world.

Anyone know when the draw for the next round is?

Good first half and the match was over. Disappointed in the second, looked sloppy at times.

Of the 3 youngsters on show I thought Ampadu was very solid and looks confident when on the ball. I think  against better opposition he might get caught out at times for being over cool but we must expect that and he will learn from mistakes.

Scott did well enough but was a bit rash and nervy looking at times, but it was his debut.

CHO, although he didn’t get a lot of ball the way we played second half, seems to have a great first touch and like great players he looks to have time on the ball. His awareness of team mates and his choice of passing looks on another level and has great pace.I haven’t seen enough of him but from what I’ve seen he looks to have everything to reach the top. Hope I’m not getting carried away here.

Second half let the air out of our balloon a little bit.

Nice reward for Scott but frankly I thought he was an odd choice. He's not really close to playing first team football and it showed. Sterling is a genuine chance in my view of being our long term right back. Surely would have made more sense to give the run out to him.

That said it's a good win with Willian and Giroud the stars for me. Giroud and Morata's respective performamces tonight demonstrated the steep learning curve Morata is on. Giroud imposed himself on the match while Morata waited for the game to come to him. Morata will start against Barca as he is better suited to European football but with continued performances like that Giroud may force himself into the starting eleven at some stage.

Please don't. If we have go 3-5-2, then i'm calling a defeat for us, i have no faith in that formation whatsoever.

Worked well against Atleti, I was at that game and we were brilliant, but I agree it just stopped working, 5 defenders, 2 DM's a CM and you are relying on so few creative players, we need a front 3, suits teh players better.

Scott is showing his inexperience for me. A few rash tackles, gave away the ball that we almost conceded a goal from, but has made a few decent tackles and passes too.

I confess I never thought I'd see Kyle play for the first team. I've been watching him for several years now in various development teams but I've never been a fan. Antonio likes him and there must be a reason for that but I'm still a doubter I'm afraid.

I hope you're wrong about that. Barca must be expected to dominate the ball next week. We'll need the player with the greater likelihood of getting the ball to stick when it's played forward. Given that Olivier started tonight, it seems probable that Antonio's plan was to go with Alvaro on Tuesday. I think tonight may have given him food for thought though.

Indeed my friend. Although Amps has the same mad hair that is where the comparison ends.
