February 18, 20197 yr I never rated Sarri particularly high and it looks like I'm being proven right. On 23/08/2018 at 13:31, Aryagorn said: Welcome to this forum! Although Napoli played a very aesthetically pleasing football, they didn't won anything with Sarri as coach. That's including Coppa Italia. Which should've been a lot more realistic objective for your team. At the end of the day, all that matters is is winning titles. Just look at Pochettino who's still being mocked for achieving feck all at Spurs. Sarri's tenure at Chelsea will be judged depending on how many titles he'll win for Chelsea.
February 18, 20197 yr Not just our defense being useless. Where are our goals? These defeats to arsenal, Bournemouth, city and United not one consolation goal. I would not be surprised if we lose to city and spurs without scoring as well.

I firmly believe Sarri is not the man to lead us in to the future. As you say, he has no ability to change, Christ he struggles to change his substitutions. Imagine we were in the CL this year. I dread to think what teams like PSG would do to us. That was a United missing big players, and they’ve strolled it. 30 minutes ago, Sparkz said: I've defended Sarri quite a bit, I still stand by that he needs time to truly implement his footballing philosophy on this club. Like Mourinho amd Conte, he's getting let down by our players who quite frankly are a joke What i can't defend is this persistance of playing the same crap week in week out. He has no excuses when it comes to that. The likes of Christensen, Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi should be ahead of some of the sh*te we have in our first 11 This. Its getting hard to defend him because of his team selection and subs. I think even the most pessimistic fan is ok with the idea that his style will take more than 1 season to implement. It's become impossible to defend the teams he keeps throwing out there however. If the definition of insane is doing something over and over and expecting different results well... I'm afraid he's proven he's incapable of managing in this league. Unless he starts changing his lineups over the next couple of weeks I'm in the Sarri out camp. Its becoming indefensible
February 18, 20197 yr Europa League / Carabao Cup and top 4 are still attainable. This is a very pivotal moment - how the club acts in the next few days will determine our outcome for this season.

February 18, 20197 yr Any coach in the world can easily set up their team to beat a Sarri team. Just tell the team to pressure the midfield, especially Jorginho, get back and defend in numbers when a Sarri team come forward and then hit them on a counter with one pass through Jorginho which exposes the defence. Sarri has his full backs tucked in too, so there is another weakness waiting to be exposed. Just play it down the wing where you have plenty of time to swing a ball into the box. Teams have been doing this against us for months now and Sarri hasn't budged one bit with his tactics.
February 18, 20197 yr Watched The Debate. Merse absolutely bang on. Caning the others and everything he has said is on the money.
February 18, 20197 yr Too stubborn. Lack of rotation. Poor with youth players. Out of his depth, sorry Maurizio.

Well it always is when it goes wrong, coincidentally every manager we've ever had seems to have this problem here but I'm sure it's just another coincidence of us signing terrible managers and some managers that can only have one good season.

Of the top of my head If I was in the board - I would talk to Zola about this situation - find out what he would do to fix the situation. If Zola is able to identify our weaknesses, talks different formations we have found our caretaker - else interview a few more behind closed doors and find out a caretaker. For this squad Sarri is not the solution and we still have the opportunity to make top 4. We need the top 4 glam and the Champions League money.

United will round out the top 4 no matter what we do imo.

It only two games, and if they make the final, they won't need to play that until after the Premier League season is over. They are going out of the Champions League too so that is something else they won't need to worry about.

I disagree, the players have been at fault more than once for a manager being sacked. It's pretty clear Sarri is resistant to change almost anything, down to who gets subbed on. If it is down to the players refusing to put in a good shift then isn't it also his fault he wont change them? Either he's stubborn to a fault or incompetent and insane for expecting better results from players who wont play for him. Both of those things should see him sacked.
February 19, 20197 yr So Malmo and City and that is it for Sarri. Our history and way to handle managers have just eaten another top manager.

No one is really supporting Sarri it seems. I think us fans are partly responsible for our manager-merry-go-round. You can see how Sarri now needs support but it seems he is completely alone.
February 19, 20197 yr It's hard to support Sarri when he's wheeling the same team, same formation, same subs each game. I get that he wants to play his style but it clearly isn't working currently.
February 19, 20197 yr He's out of his depth and was the wrong appointment for the club in the summer period. Nothing against him personally, but he's not suited to us.
