I love going to games, but I think you get a better view and insight from watching it on TV, sometimes it can be difficult to make out which player is which when the game gets scrappy, depending on where you're sitting of course. Whenever I've been to games I've downloaded the match and watched it again.

June 28, 20197 yr If those quotes are real I’m so relieved that man is gone. Just another melt who has no clue about the clubs history and achievements pre Roman. Mind you this is a guy who chews cigarettes....
June 28, 20197 yr He was never a proper Chelsea person. Got the vibe he was never emotionally invested with us very early on in his tenure and I'm glad to see the back of him. I hope Conte wipes the floor off him in the Serie A. Edited June 28, 20197 yr by Jezz
June 28, 20197 yr I take that to mean Juventus have a much longer tradition of winning stuff than we do, which is correct. The way he was treated by fans, I doubt he'll be too bothered if a few thin-skinned types choose to take offence.
June 28, 20197 yr I will miss Sarri. He had real style, as did Conte. Chelsea have burned up so much managerial and playing talent you really couldn’t write a book about it. And yet we are, as of the end of last season, still a force to be reckoned with.

Thank him for his service but am glad to move on. It was hard to warm to the guy and as Jezz rightly says, he just did't "get" Chelsea and wasn't the right fit.
June 28, 20197 yr Now spouting sh*t like a jilted schoolgirl. He took the easy ‘out’ with Eden gone and a transfer ban looming. Hope he falls flat on his face. ?

Yeah musta been real hard to be in the majority opinion. Give it a rest with this cult nonsense.
June 28, 20197 yr 1 hour ago, Old Shaggy said: What a prick. May have been lost in translation. But second time he is referring to Chelsea in a negative way. Maybe he is trying to win over fans whom he showed a finger to. He also burnt his bridges with Napoli the club who made it happen.. I think at times he came across as a emotional guy.. especially when the video of him apologizing came out after the heavy BM defeat...or maybe his only love is football and clubs/players are the support cast. If his observation is to say Juve have been more successful then he is correct.. and probably that is what he meant.. But it will serve him well to stick to Juve now that he is gone.. he doesnt need to comment on his previous employers.. Whatever it is.. i think at chelsea we are used to Superstar managers and his style just didnt fit in.. He was uninspiring and more a coach than a manager..
June 28, 20197 yr Can't we just close this thread now? He's history thankfully and i quite frankly don't care what the man say or doesn't say about us. He was a chapter best forgotten and i wish Conte all the best against him in Italy.
June 28, 20197 yr 2 hours ago, Old Shaggy said: What a prick. Well, of course the circumstances are different. It depends whether you are counting the Juve history in entirety or the re-birth following being found guilty of perpetual and systematic corruption to the point of being bombed down multiple divisions and having to regenerate yourselves. What history is he talking about. Clean history? Edited June 28, 20197 yr by WhiteWall spelling
June 28, 20197 yr Weird that people are saying they want Conte to destroy Sarri in Italy. The same Conte that spent 12 months moaning, playing stubborn formations and ultra-defensive football and creating a shocking dressing room atmosphere by falling out with most players. He wears a suit and jumped into the crowd once though so he's more liked, i guess.

And go back and read some of the interviews and quotes. It might have turned sour and he might have fell out with The Board but Conte GOT Chelsea. Would take Conte EVERY time over Sarri and I'll be routing for Inter over Juventus! Edited June 28, 20197 yr by Nibs
June 28, 20197 yr Conte's final statement after being sacked last year: ‘I would like to thank all of my friends at Chelsea Football Club for their hard work and support over the past two seasons which enabled us to win the Premier League and FA Cup together. To the players, whose talent and commitment was so important to our successes, I thank them for everything. It has been a pleasure working with them every day. To my staff, who always worked so hard, I must say thank you and well done for their professionalism and dedication throughout. I have enjoyed my time in England and London so much and I want to thank the Chelsea fans who have been amazing to me and my family. It was fantastic for me to be able to share my emotions, passion and enthusiasm throughout two unforgettable seasons with these amazing Chelsea supporters, who will always stay in my heart I hope Chelsea will continue to be successful and I wish everyone well for next season. I have made many memories during my time with Chelsea, which I will take with me into my next challenge.’ https://metro.co.uk/2018/07/16/antonio-conte-sends-classy-message-chelsea-fans-sacked-blues-7721877/?ito=cbshare Despite troubles behind the scenes, he still thanked the club and the supporters for the opportunity to coach us. One of the classiest statements I've read from an outgoing manager. Sarri on the other hand...?

June 28, 20197 yr Sarri don't deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as Antonio Conte. One gave everything he had for the club, loved the fans, won us multiple trophies including the league and gave us one of the best seasons in our history. The other one used us as a stepping stone, didn't give a sh*t about the fans and gave us one of the most boring seasons we've seen. Conte was like a 12th man for us on the sideline guiding the team and players while Sarri were too busy chewing cigarettes like some addict.

His FIRST ever trophy where we played no-one of any note all the way through!! Conte was in a different class and it's no wonder he will be remembered fondly by many whereas Sarri will be soon forgotten by all but a small minority (you + one or two others!!)

I read an interview with Desailly and he said he'd never heard of us when he signed.
June 28, 20197 yr Can we close this thread? Sarri, like Conte, isn't a Chelsea man. I wanted Sarri to stay, I wanted Conte to leave, but now both have gone I don't think about them anymore. There's only one club in Italy I will be supporting next year. Napoli.
