Why do we only seem interested in players from Serie A? Does Sarri not know of any players outside of it?

I mean, possibly not.

His preferences definitely appear to be dictating our transfers this summer for better or worse.

I don't care really, as long as they are good, but Serie A players joining the Premier League are very hit and miss. It would be good if we could pick up the odd Zola now and again

Think given the short window he can be forgiven just going for Serie A yet would be questionable if this is the same next season.

We all saying that Drinkwater or Bakayoko making their way out, but at the end, it would be Loftus-Cheek.. which would be the biggest disappointment.

About Vecino, I don't know about him much. We were the only big club after him.

My point is, if we can’t get the top players, why throw money at average when we already have average options RLC Barkley cesc as squad players.

We still spend a lot of money. Save the money until the right players do become available, rather than sign a lot of these 20-30m players. If we trusted our in house talent as squad players then we would have more money for top players.

baka and drinkwater cost £70m ffs. We got Jorginho for less and Liverpool got Keita for less. It’s not to do with not having enough money, it’s about spending it more wisely.

Agreed which is weird considering a few years back we were really good at doing that, the likes of Courtois,Zouma,De Bruyne,Lukaku, Azpi, Fabregas etc. But since then we gone back to sh*te buys.

If we buy Vecino and sell or loan DD and Bakayoko, I'll be very happy with our midfield options. Think those 6 will get us through the season, no problem. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Vecino is the only player we'll add, other than a keeper.

Agreed. I'd be disappointed if we didn't stregthen elsewhere but midfield wouldn't be the glaring weakness it was last season.

Did you see him the other night?

You look at his first game for us and then his latest and you will quickly realise there is no improvement whatsoever

No I didn't see it Chelseabear, I think he suffered a massive confidence loss, especially after the Watford game. Im the worst critic and he was poor for much of the season, but I don't like to over criticise the younger players too much. I suppose what im saying if it was a choice of keeping him or Drinkwater I would go for Bakayoko, purely because I don't think Drinkwater is a top 5 club player and that Bakayoko has obviously shown something for us to have signed him initially. Let's hope he rediscovers it this season.

He’s not young anymore though, he can’t be treated like a kid, he’s 23, 24 next month. He should be at least be able to play a 5 yard pass to a teammate. He’s only 2 years younger than Morata who gets absolutely slaughtered on here for having a much better output than Bakayoko has.

Surely if you have so much faith in our scouting department regarding Bakayoko the same has to be said for Drinkwater? I.e. he must have shown something for us to sign him in the first place.

You probably mean Italians, not players generally. there were many good signings from the Calcio.

For me Drinkwater was a strange signing, and certainly not one sanctioned by Conte. As ive stated, im prepared to give Bakayoko the benefit of the doubt if it was a straight choice between the two. I cant see where ive said that I have "SO MUCH" faith in our scouting system? Our transfer policy is an absolute joke, just ask the past few managers that have all been undermined by it.

Why do people assume we have to sign finished products all the time? Is it not possible for us to sign a 'good' player and for them to become great at the club? The word's best players don't just appear they develop somewhere. I remember, vividly, James Richardson questioning why Liverpool would spend £8m on such an inconsistent tallent like Coutiniho who wasn't really that great at Inter.

Sometimes we need to buy a notch under the top and make them great players. I think that is what Sarri will help bring to the team.

He is 26 though and should be near a finished product by now. Paying £30m+ for a backup in a season where we are in Europa is a bit ridiculous IMO. We could use this opportunity to give some youth/loan/fringe players some game time, or we could have picked up Max Mayer a similar player on a freebie.

Vital signing. Sarri knows him so he wont find it difficult to adjust. Need a cover/backup for Kante who will need to be rested for those thursday night EL matches. Squad player.

Drinkwater and Bakayoko can’t do ‘Sarriball’ so it’s crucial we sign players who can, so we don’t have big problems later on in the season.

Even if Vecino is nothing special, if he can give 7/10 performances every time then I’m happy.

We really need to try sign Savic instead, go for quality for once. I agree with you on Drinkwater and Bakayoko though, sell them asap.

This guy is already proper chels. Scoring against Spurs. Sign him up! Didn't look half bad either.
