September 29, 20187 yr Definitely disappointed with this result, however, I'll admit that a draw is a fair result. Also, I'm not going to complain that the team sat back in the second half, with Liverpool knocking on the door, it wasn't a bad tactic. Many attacking minded managers would have done the same. Even City for all their possession football have games where they sit back a bit after getting a lead. Had we got the win, this tactic would have been praised.
September 29, 20187 yr I admire Sarri's modesty, but that didn't look like a team 1 year behind Liverpool. Much credit to him, he's come in, slapped down his ideas and the players have adapted amazing. If this is us at 6/7 weeks in, imagine us in another 2/3 months. I still think he deserves a winter and summer transfer window to bring in a couple more players he would like though. I hope he's proving some of the initial doubters wrong though, showing he can go toe to toe with one of the best coaches in Europe and England.

And Ross Barkley has done himself no favours, he's not a 20 year old anymore, he doesn't look good enough. And there you are wrong. They were pants, and, for all their running about, they didn't deserve that. As someone said, Sturridge could try that a thousand times and not score again. But you ar eright about Barkley
September 29, 20187 yr Just now, JPH said: Once again not a good performamnce by Azpi. They were much more dangerous when attacking from his side. I don't think so at all. The left got ripped apart in that first half. The only time they got past Azpilicueta was when he slipped. He had a really solid defensive performance today.
September 29, 20187 yr Fantastic performance by the team and manager. Just a shame we conceded to a goal that has come out of nowhere.
September 29, 20187 yr That was the sort of game, where if we had a Costa or a Drogba up front, I think we'd have won 2-1.
September 29, 20187 yr Disappointing end. Barkley was losing the ball almost every time and I feared it would cost us, and unfortunately it did. Don't know why Kovacic was substituted. He held the ball way better than Barkley. I think the subs cost us the game.

Our target man is Hazard, because Morata can't do it and he is no threat to anybody and Giroud, even though he is a hard worker and decent link up player, is a 2nd rate player.
September 29, 20187 yr Is BT part of the Liverpool supporters club? So f**king biased and one sided in their evaluation of the game.....'all the chances you had'? What f**king chances did they have, the interviewer talking sh*te....sounds like they had a ton of chances and missed them.....eeerrr we had a few ourselves.
September 29, 20187 yr Fair result in the end could have finished 3-3 but we broke their winning streak so f**k em ..onwards and upwards KTBFFH!!!
September 29, 20187 yr A proper striker is needed. Every other team in top 5/6 has a proper striker who can be clinical. We don't. We can rely on Hazard and Pedro to get us through some games, but ultimately you need that striker to put chances away. These games are about fine margins, so you gotta be clinical.

September 29, 20187 yr Great performance and I think if we continue this way we will comfortable finished top 3, we just need a striker a Costa or a Drogba who in game's like this makes all the difference. The bias meaning hyping up Liverpool got put back down to ground today and we showed even at a early stage of our change in philosophy we are going in the right direction. Great performance against a team who have been playing together with their manager almost 3 season's

He came to the club late and still so early into the season his tactics and style are showing so quickly.
September 29, 20187 yr Calmed down a bit. Not gonna be bitter about dropping points in the last minute to a worldie. And it wasn't a fluke, he knew what he was doing as he tried it on Weds and hit the bar. Still disappointed though. Before the game, a 1-1 result is a decent result. Not good, but decent. Anyways, it could be worse... Edited September 29, 20187 yr by AlexTommo
September 29, 20187 yr Can anyone who watched the game on tv confirm that there were away fans there today because I didn’t hear them once.
September 29, 20187 yr This BT sport post match reaction is absolutely terrible, if you walked in after the match and started watching it you'd be under the impression Liverpool won comfortably...
September 29, 20187 yr We are a few players away from being a team that can win the league. I wish Pedro was not injured - his defensive shift and ability to carry the ball forward would have helped today. Instead we had to showcase the wonder that is Victor Moses. And Moratta - what can i say about him that hasnt been said already ? Our defense still has miles to go before being solid.
September 29, 20187 yr f**k me I'm paying for Liverpool TV. Did we not take part in this game? f**k BT Disappointing ending to the game, thought we may have held on for our win. Surprised Kante allowed Sturridge the chance of the shot especially after having a similar shot on Wednesday night. We had good performances all over the pitch tonight, our lack of a centre forward though is hurting us and this has to be remedied as soon as possible. Our subs were weak tonight too none of them performed with any distinction.

A Troy Deeney is a step up from Morata, that is how poor he is (am i too harsh on Morata ?).

I mostly agree. That 2nd half performance was very similar to performances under Conte last season. There is still a lot of work to do to get us playing Sarri's football at it's best. For me, the biggest issues that exist from last season is how we play out from the back, struggling to deal with pressure in the middle and up front. They all need a lot of work and the only way we can sort out the striker position is by bringing in a new player. I think playing out of the back and dealing with pressure in midfield can be worked on with the players we already have.

I think the same and although recently injured, liked the look of Danny Ings, intelligent play and a good finisher.
