You know what’s really dull? Listening to a constant stream of whining about how sh*t our players are. Try going to a match and spouting that sh*t and see how long it takes for people to tell you to shut your mouth.

I agree the match threads can get a bit tedious at times but are you actually at the game tonight or just slagging other posters off from the comfort of your living room/keyboard etc ?

Lets get a grip here. Folk are entitled to express an opinion on a forum.

No-one is telling you what you can post.  I'm saying that bitching and whining from your bedroom isn't the way of a true supporter, that picking on your scapegoat player of the week doesn't make one a football expert,  and that what you see on your stream or on Sky/BT is just a fraction of what the match-going fans see from the stands.  So, if someone is posting what I consider to be bollocks, I will defend their right to post that, but I will also defend my right to say that it is bollocks.

LOL

It's not the same though is it? This place was created for us to vent our opinions. What f**king use does a forum have if we can't say what we want to say?

I don't agree with the bashing of our players. But we should be able to criticize them. If you don't like it you should block anyone who is ever critical of Chelsea.

This exactly. We were poor today overall, most of the players put in poor to average performances. We are talking about the game as it happens, and throughout most of it, we were poor. Sorry if people don't like it, but that is how I feel about it. I'm happy Morata got a goal and I hope for our sake that he keeps on scoring, but if he doesn't, I'm not going to ignore it. Same goes for Willian, if he is doing his usual thing where he runs but lacks any kind of end product, then I will make a negative comment about it, but if he plays well, I will make a positive comments.

Some people seem to want us to say something positive or nothing at all, but that isn't what a forum is for. I'm just saying how I see it, I always do.

looking at this post match show & Glenn Hoddle has an excellent point - only 2 goals scored but 6 points in the UEL Table - Clean sheets are really important - BTW did Morata lose a tooth with an elbow to the grill?

Looks like Nigel Spackman will be coming under fire - he joked that his performance at Chelsea got him a stand named after him, but disabled only - People are on twitter being angry about his attempt at humor

Haven’t had time to read through the thread but imagine folks are not happy with the performance which I think was dire, but 3 points all the same.

One positive is that I was watching it in a bar in Dubrovnik during happy 3 hours.

good goal by Morata, he a better instinctive finisher that someone who has time. Do feel sorry for him at times though in the service to him is predestrian and fairly sh*t most of the time.

Anyways onwards and upwards.

Well, as Morata has scored, I can now relax and look forward to next season when he scores again.

Thar made me laugh, nice one :)

Loftus cheek, emerson and pedro were the only players tonight who deserve praise. The rest were poor or average. As I said previously, Sarri needs another two tranfer windows to undo the sh*t from previous coaches and the board bringing in average.

All this nonsense about Morata needs to to score for confidence is crap. How many times last season did he score then go on a goal drought? He just isn't good enough. I understand the board wanting to allow him another season under a new coach,  but the board dropped another clanger.

A total waste of money they will probably make a loss on. Bakayoko, Morata, drinkwater, Batshuayi, zappacosta. Anybody else Almost £200m wasted when if invested better we could have a very good side.

Cant help but think we're not giving our oppositon enough credit sometimes. We had a few fringe players not at their peak, but Vidi did play well. The technical gap is obvious, but they were organised and looked as physically sharp as us. They're clearly league champions for a reason, all professional footballers I believe, they have their fair share of experienced internationals too. Expecting our 'second string' that have barely played together in competitive matches to coast to victory was surely unrealistic.

Happy we have another 3 points. I think it was 8 changes? So Sarri's giving a lot of players opportunities and rests, which is what we're all calling for in these matches. Yeah more youngsters could've featured for sure, but we have no idea how they actually fit in the club setup. Do they shine during training? Do they fit in with the squad day to dau or shy off in the background? Do they have the mental strength to command a first team place? I'd speculate maybe not, or at least in Sarri's opinion right now maybe not. Ampadu, Hudson Odoi... even Drinkwater and Loftus Cheek have to be way down the current pecking order for a reason.

Probably a couple of unpopular opinons, but just some thoughts.

Just got home from the game and some positives i got from the game was precious minutes to most of our second string which will be vital for building match fitness for when they are needed.

Morata scoring was much needed, lets pray he goes on some sort of run.

Ruben getting a start and was probably our best player untill he came off.

Kepa is in great form.

6 points and 2 clean sheets from 2 games.

Only side undefeated in all competitions.

Still the only team in London to win the European Cup!!!

KTBFFH!!!

The sad thing about the whole Morata situation is not only does he not trust himself, but the players don't either, I was only able to see the highlights, but from what I saw, there were two instances where a Chelsea player could have laid it off to Morata, but instead took the shot themselves, Willian in the 11 min could have easily played it through to Morata who could have at least a decent shot on target, but instead cut it onto his left foot and shanked the shot, and then in the 34 min when RLC made a great move on the defender and had Morata in the box for what could have been an easy tap in but instead took another touch and allowed the CB to knock it away for a corner. If the players can't trust him either, then theres no chance for Morata to get back to the form he was when he first started last year. I think his issue is 100% mental and confidence, nothing physical. Hopefully the goal he scored today will give him the confidence he needs going forward, but I also thought that with the first goal he scored this year and it took him this long to get his second. Im rooting for him big time but if its just not meant to be its just not meant to be.

Hmm, Twitter, the judge, jury and executioner of the modern world. Difficult times. Sad times.

seems the actual match-going fans didn't think Willian was as pants as us armchair fans, seeing as he got a standing ovation when going off.  Perhaps you really DO see more of the game from the stands.

The difficulty with this is that (and I only speak from my own experience) I never booed or jeered a player when I was a regular at games and very few did.  But back in the pub or in the mini bus or on the train we'd discuss the game and we wouldn't hold back. The difference was that those comments went no further than our mates in the pub or minibus. And next game we'd still chant all the players names in the warm up.

I do recall some occasions when fans let their feelings be known at games. Notts County away one Boxing Day and the second half was mainly singing that circus tune. A game away at Everton and most had upped and left in disgust with 10 minutes to go. On the flip side, some awful performances were received with defiant chants of Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea for half an hour. Somewhere near the centre circle after an end of season game with Arsenal I even patted Tony the ice cream man on the back and told him he was doing great when in truth I thought he was bloody rubbish. I think it's your duty to be supportive when you're at the game.

I also think what goes on in here is rightly or wrongly, like it or loathe it, just the world and time we live in. One thing is for certain, you can't stop or change it. I've read you expending much energy trying every match day for several years on here and frankly, you're getting absolutely nowhere. And honestly, I'm not trying to argue, have a go or anything, I'm just kind of saying what I think as the kind of irony is that your valiant efforts to combat the twice weekly criticism stand out more in the memory than any of the hyper critical posts do as they just kind of wash over.

Anyway, didn't see the game tonight but seems we won without ripping up any trees. Sounds like a fairly typical Chelsea fixture then. Still on for the quadruple!

What an akward game to watch. The longer it went on, the less comfortable it was.

Happy for Morata to get the monkey of the back (especially after the first half miss). I liked Ederson's run into the box...shame his finish was so wild. Can't quite believe the RLC didn't win a penalty after his slalom run. Didn't know you could dive on the ground and take out your opponent's legs.

Mostly it's relief at the win. Not a great performance. Desperate to see Ampadu and CHO play.

Seems like a fairly routine, ho-hum win.

From the highlights though, while Chelsea were too wasteful with their shooting, Vidi did work hard in midfield and defence to minimise our legitimate scoring opportunities and even had a few shots on target themselves.

Not our greatest display ever ( massive under statement !).

However, I'll take a 1-0 win anytime.

I accept it's not what we hoped for performance or display wise.

However I'd rather we won 1-0 the way we actually played last night. Than played ' attractive, open, free flowing football' so beloved of certain media pundits...and consequently we got caught on the counter attack and lost 1-0 .
