People really do need to take a step back from calling foul in terms of the action taking today.

None of us have a clue what HM Government have in terms of the justification for their actions and trying to condemn such actions purely because of our love for CFC won’t change a thing. If this was happening to any other club most would probably be sniggering.

When I reflect on what has happened and what has not happened I wonder if this was the only way that the Government could sanction or indeed agree to RA selling up.

In commentary the BBC quoted an official who has stated that the operating licence could be amended to facilitate a sell and you have to ask why such a comment was made if it wasn’t actively being considered.

So come on let’s stop feeling sorry for ourselves because yes football is important to us at but it really really isn’t a life or death matter

Seemed a few of you are a little surprised at least at the reaction of rival fans? Why? I shared a while back a taste of some of the things they were saying.

The majority of them legitimately hate us, they want to see us burn.

Hatred and wanting to see other human being suffer and in pain is not consigned only to the Kremlin, did the media make you think otherwise?

I'm not surprised in the instance. Just ignore the trolls. I know true fans of rival teams and they will have genuine sympathy for the true fans here. While we all like to laugh at rival teams when things aren't going well, a rivalry cannot exist without a rival.

Football finance expert on TalkSPORT saying it’s in EVERYONE’S interest for a quick sale - Govt, Roman, fans, league etc.

Hope it’s true.

Chelsea sale: Talks to continue with prospective new owners.

Belief is that sale will still happen - Government confirm they want sale.

As long it is proven that the funds don't go to Roman Abramovich - a sale will go through.

That is stating the obvious, of course it is.

It is ridiculous to think the government wants to sink the club, it would cost them money in taxes, they receive half the wage bill alone in income tax. They also don't want the headache of angry Chelsea fans marching on parliament.

For our fans it is obvious why.

For Roman because he loves the club and does not want it dragged down.

For the league because we are important to their brand. The sale will still for sure happen. Though the chances of it being a good owner, as the Candy man looks potentially to be, and not a greedy one, like the Swiss and US bids appear to be, seem slim.

I'd say that goes without saying. Our club is one of the biggest in the world. Think of all the livelihoods that are connected. While the sanctions are directed at the current conflict, I have no doubt they will be keen to minimize impact on everybody else, who are not the targets of the sanctions.

It’s an absolute pisstake. The more I think about it, I get more angry. What have we done to deserve this? I mean us fans. I’m not a season ticket holder but now I don’t even know if I will be able to watch another game and I haven’t done anything wrong. Why are we being punished?

Is it true that we have a limited budget to travel? I heard on ESPN FC that this is the case, which would affect our trip to Lille.

I'm sure the players can handle paying for transport if necessary. They aren't short a few quid.

Yeah . Maybe our players might have to.pay for flights and hotels like the fans ?

Who gives a f**k what they are saying! If people want to go read news like this on Twitter or Facebook, then there is no point in getting butthurt by what other fans are saying. Who cares.

As I aid earlier on, this will paint a bigger picture for other clubs too. They will find reason to go after others after.

End of the day, Chelsea (same as any other club) isn't one man. It's not an owner. It's not a board of directors. It's not the manager or the players. These all come and go. No-one from the club 50 years ago is still here, and no-one here right now will be here in another 50. The only constant is the fans, the families who pass it down from generation to generation, the community built around the club, the traditions, the memories. That will always remain, no matter what happens on the pitch or in the board room. If we end up in the conference, we'll still be there. If we end up liquidated, we'll start a new Chelsea from the bottom and we'll still be there. But no matter what, we'll still always beat Tottenham.

It really shouldn't be a problem to sever RA from the club so as to let the club continue to operate and just get rid of RA.

Let the club sell tickets and sign players.

Let RA sell the club and hold all the money in a trust until the war is over and sanctions on him are lifted.

I am sorry for the rant that follows, if the Admins think it is banworthy, I will have no complaints after.

As much as I dont want to mix political sh*t with sports, this was the final straw. So, we are being punished because our owner allegedly has connections to Putin and the only way to make it up to the victims in Ukraine is to demolish a club in London.

When the US levelled Syria to the ground, why didnt the Government take away Arsenal, Liverpool and United from their owners?

Saudi Arabia is currently bombing the sh*t out of civilians in Yemen, will they go after Newcastle the same way?

Israel has been killing innocent in Palestine for 70 years now, why arent the Israeli businessmen with shares in the clubs targeted?

This is clownfiesta at its finest. What happens in the Ukraine is a travesty and after 2 World Wars it is only natural for mankind to have learned some vital lessons. No one has the right to take lives and this needs to end as soon as possible if we dont wanna risk an even bigger catastrophe.

All of this stinks big time. If sports clubs, their fanbase and workers are to be targeted like this, then it is only natural the same is applied to other clubs as well but we all know it wont happen.

Again, I apologize for the rant and if any of you fellow members finds this banworthy, I understand and I will take outcome that is deemed right.

He said net proceeds mate.

So you cover all your loans, costs and expenses first. If you sell a house for a million and give all proceeds to charity you give a million, if you have a 950.000 loan on that house and want to give the net proceeds to charity you give 50.000.

Net proceeds could mean loads of things, its a multi billion pound deal, there is loads of over heads, tax, raine group need to paid etc.

Your analogy is off, because in the same statement he said he was forgoing the '950k'.

So thats is just down to your interpretation. Ill take his statement at face value, as i havent seen any reports that would suggest otherwise.

Maybe he was hoping to pocket £2b, i guess we will find out by how much he fights the government.

Basically they don't trust Roman to sell the club without pocketing from  it.

Once they are satisfied that all legal documents confirm Roman pockets 0 from the sale it will happen.

I guess the question in that case is what do they define as him pocketing money? For example is he entitled to take the money back that he purchased the club for, or the money he loaned over the last 19 years. Or will they only allow the sale if all the money goes to charity?

Hard to get my head around all of this. I have never felt so uncertain about our future since I started seriously following the club. We have been turned upside down overnight.

Also, and I don't mean to sound horrible, but I am getting sick of people telling me to think about what is happening in Ukraine. I know what is happening in Ukraine is horrible, I'm not an idiot, but I can be concerned about more than one thing. You can't just tell me not to care about something I have dedicated a lot of my life to. Chelsea football club have been part of some of the best and worst moments of my life, I can't just switch off any feelings I have for the club because of the horrible things happening to the Ukrainian people right now. I'm not having any of the "it's just a football club" rubbish, it's not just a football club to us, it's a big part of what has shaped our lives.

Yeah that take people throw around is BS. You're allowed to feel concerned about Chelsea while feeling sorry about Ukraine at the same time. This doesn't need to be a black and white issue. As the saying goes, you can walk and chew gum.
