As  the dust starts to settle I am starting to turn my thoughts as to how the new owners turn a profit and just what they were thinking in paying £2.5 billion for an asset which in truth must be at the top end of his valuation.

I don't expect that they are looking for large operating profits. Just enough to keep the wheels greased. I think they anticipate the value of the club growing over a ten year period and that being the return they are looking for. Remember 'expert opinion' was that Roman had overpaid at about £140m.

Kev I have had that same experience. The rush to get the coach back to the Airport was legendary !!

It’s amazing. I’ve experienced  this  at Marseille, Lazio, Barcelona.

The best I’ve seen us treated is Stockholm and Munich

Ah Stockholm, what a wonderful few days, remember i was on a chartered flight, took off and landed all on time. Police waiting for us on the runway as we walked to the terminal and greeted by gorgeous blonde policewomen, in that beautiful accent "welcome to Sweden, the pubs are this way"

I expect the American investments into football clubs is entirely centred around leveraging future TV deals, its where the big money is for the NBA, NFL etc and has increased massively over the past decade or so. What we will see s the big, US owned clubs will be pushing for new models, new TV deals in areas, changes to the way the money is distributed etc.

Basically expect pushes by the big clubs for big changes, similar to what we have already seen in the Superleague bullsh*t.

I can't shake the belief that the super league stuff was a double gambit in the eyes of some clubs. If they got away with it then yippee! If not, it serves as a good stalking horse for the new CL format. I'm surprised how little kick back there has been against uefa's plans for the Champions League.

Its looking more and more like a land grab isnt it, a bit of sleight of hand. Show a bad superleague, accept it wont happen while in the background sneak in a load of the things Superleague was going to have anyway.

The ESL was among other things a reaction to UEFAs new Champions League format. The ESL and UEFA are still bitter enemies and Agnelli and the lads who's still working for the ESL isn't giving up.

Didn't love the ESL (didn't hate it as much as some others did either) but UEFA's holier than thou attitude is ridiculous.

The PL isn't that much better.

The "reward" money even for finishing bottom means there may aswell be no relegation, as we see with Fulham, Norwich and Watford constantly bouncing back to the point even their fans are getting bored.

Marina is off apparently at the end of august. Nooooo…..

Where did you read that?

In my opinion is best we cut ties with the board members of the Roman Era. We don't need to be getting started just for them gov to decide to sanction them as well.

3 have been removed from the official sponsors list.

I will never do business with them for as long as i live.

Imo it’s needed, new owners should mean they bring in their own people, rumour is that we’re after Atletico Madrid’s sporting director to replace her

Bloke from Atletico touted to replace her.

If this is the same bloke that thought it was a good idea to buy back Costa and Morata, we should be worried.

Yea, it’s bad news really, no idea what they are thinking with this one, Paul Mitchell of Monaco seemed like a better idea.

Would be nice to have a statement from the new owners about the future of TT and Emma Hayes, as to whether they are backing them or not.

I agree that it would be nice if they gave a general statement including their plans. Don’t know about Tuchel, who has done well imo but, if they don’t back Emma Hayes and the women team who have won all in England, I’d be worried.

why?

our fall begans when emalano leave the club

On the back of a mounting chorus of criticism that he was also the cause of the sh*t signings that didn't work out for us.
