I’m more worried about Marina and the old guard hanging around, as they clearly can’t be bothered and their heart isn’t in it anymore. Who is coming in to replace them will be an era defining decision, as much as I want the new season to be a success.. the moves in the boardroom over the next few months will really set the tone.

It took 6 months to get him upto speed not 6 weeks

Wasn't this largely to do with the fact he had a bad knee injury towards the end of his time at Wigan? Once he got in the team he looked like he had been there forever.

So with nothing happening transfer-wise, is that because we are just slow as usual? Or can we still not actually legally sign players yet? Or what?

Are we being any different than we have been for the last number of years now. Oh except for one window when nobody had any money and we were coming off of a ban.

Whoop-dee-doo.

Can't believe we're sticking with this tinpot company, especially when they couldn't wait to jump ship after Roman was sanctioned. We should be aiming higher than that, surely?

I thought Todd had ruled out any partnership with them going forward? Obviously not.

On the subject of Todd, it would be nice to hear an update or something on the consortium's future plans. The silence has been deafening.

Should have told them to f**k off

Yep, agreed. But guess it makes sense from a financial POV. We lose their 40M. Gives us a year to find another sponsor as I doubt we will renew them given the backlash.

Reading a number of articles, probably bollocks,  that the Boehly Tuchel relationship may already be under a bit of strain.

The lack of a headline signing as often reported recently already speak volumes. Its a statement I suspect, not necessarily a good one, bit a statement nonetheless.

Good excuse for the press to write such stories. If true there is only one winner.

Getting a bit worried still no signings, but would rather wait if it means someone is doing some proper scouting/ research and we don’t end up with another dud.

No doubt we would've bought that PSV dud as a Tchouameni replacement.

Club was just sold, I think people need to be patient in terms of transfers.

People are being patient, as said hopefully we buy a decent player as opposed to a last minute stop gap/ panic buy. And the longer it goes on this is what happens, as per our history.

They are bound to be nervous when liverpool say thats our business done, and Citeh have procured the best young striker on the planet, we are just plodding along, with nothing from Todd actually spouting anything about incomings?

As with Roman is their club now. If they want to take their time they can do so, if they want to sell James and Mount they can do so, if they want to make no signings and tell TT to use the loan returns players they can do so.

Maybe we need to sell before we can buy? Or at least clear space Ala Lukaku loan.

I think that is highly likely the case.

We do still have 41 players (23 from the 2021/22 first team squad and 18 from the loan army) on the books - even allowing for the recent departures.
