Mason Mount

Maybe we can just sub Jorginho on for penalties and then off again after so we can actually run a midfield for once and pretend he's actually a footballer x

Very strange crossover between the Jorginho cultists and the Mount haters on here....very strange.

Difference is, I want both to do well, when Mount plays like he has done the past few games pre-United I've been buzzing, Jorgi puts together a good run and those that don't like him get annoyed.

Mason can't preform brilliantly every game,he is a key cog in our engine, and is still young enough to get better, knocking him on here  everytime he doesn't have one of his best games is silly, there are far more worthy of a bashing than him.

Unfortunately there are far too many in the team worthy of bashing...

He has played well in like 3/4 games this season, 1 goal from open play which was gifted to him. He has been poor mostly this season.

Our the standards this low?.

Kovacic has also been well below par Jack since he came back. Perhaps he is still not completely over the injury.

Genuinely hope we put on hold his bumper new contract until we see some consistency. Mr. Purple patch back at it again with just horrid awareness in the final third.

Unpopular opinion, but we are jeopardizing our ambitions by continuing to rely on Mount the way we do. Shouldn’t be our main creative outlet.

With a few exceptions, Mount has not been good this season and I think he needs some time on the bench. We looked better going forward against Salzburg when he wasn't playing.

I think we simply shouldn’t be relying on him the way we are. We shouldn’t build a team around a player that’s a jack of all trades, master of none.

Hope Nkunku becomes that man.

Agreed! There seems to be a theory he has played lots of matches in the last 2 seasons which is fair to an extent, but that doesn’t seem to have affected Saka who is younger, played more mins, and been way more effective.

There is also the potential Nkunku factor like Sconnie Blue mentioned who occupies the same area. He isn’t anywhere close to a £250k/w player for me.

It's been more than 2 years. He hasn't had a proper break since breaking into the side (lockdown doesn't count).

Nkunku to come in and play in the same area as .... Mount ... Gallagher ... Havertz ... Chukwuemeka ... etc etc  🙂

At least we're hedging our bets I suppose !
