Don’t get me wrong I like Mount but we are dangerously going down a path where we are jeopardizing the club by making him a pivotal figure when he’s at best a jack of all trades.

Kova had an injury in the latter part of the CL winning season but even with that, winning it over Kova was daylight robbery.

No, he’s a good player from our youth system, runs his socks off little flashes here and there but the only player from our academy who is next up for club captain is Recce.

Reece will walk into anyone of the top 10 teams worldwide, ANY of them. Mount may make the bench. There is a reason the club sorted Reece contract first.

Good player to have but not a player you build your team around like some fans used to state.

Where is the energy, fight and desire that made Mason Mount so good? I think all the POTY awards got to his head a little bit. It looks like he half asses games now thinking he is Neymar, saving himself up for his "special moments".

Media sources are saying he is in no rush to commit his future to the club, and the club are looking at contingency plans.

I wonder if they would sell him in the summer if he does not sign a new deal? Or would he run down his contract to have his pick of free transfers?

He certainly isn’t a £200k/w+ player. Boehly made a mess this summer handling our signings &  contract renewals; you now have a situation where Jorginho is demanding a pay rise, Kovacic would probably run down his contract also because he will demand a pay rise 
I can’t blame him for looking out for himself to be fair when you see Koulibaly on £290k/w, Sterling on £325k/w, Azpi on £180k/w, Fofana on £200k/w, Cucurella on £175k/w, and James on £250k/w. All of those wages are ridiculous, and in his shoes I would want some of that.

Bang on mate. Todd has screwed us over the years to come with these ridiculous wages wages contract lengths to a lot of average footballers. Only case that can be made is for Reece and he should not be at 250k

I think he is just bolloxed. Desperately needs a rest and then needs to be rotated more., in a midfield of better players as well.

On current form he is not better than a Trossard or a Maddison. I could see this happening. Strange though when Havertz, Pulisic and Ziyech should be out the door long before. Have I joined the @HazardousChoice cult. Nah, he is just right.

His contract negotiation has stalled apparently,I don't see him wanting to leave though. Could just be his agent telling him to sign with 12 months to go so he can get a bigger desperation deal.

How does he justify a high contract after his recent inconsistent performances?

He's objectively worse than Maddison if we're being honest, Maddison has been one of the best creative midfielders in the league

Have to admit, it is insane that he won the player of the season award twice over the likes of Rudiger and Thiago Silva, if he wasn't an academy lad he wouldn't have got near it.

 

He turns 24 in two months, he's hardly a youth prospect anymore and shouldn't be treated like one. He's been dropping 4-5/10 games all season yet seems to be the first name on the teamsheet every time. Hutchinson deserves a chance over him.

I think he deserved it in 20/21 but yeah him getting it last year was ridiculous.

The shedends second favorite Pompurion says we will be at a higher level after the world cup break, would be harder to be much lower:
