What's a pivot ?

I want to say playing as a central midfielder doesn't suits him unless its in a three, but he also hasn't had a good start to the season so just might just be another poor game from him. He's one of our key players and is going to be key in helping us pick up form once he starts playing well. I can see the temptation from Tuchel to continue playing him despite his poor performances.

Mount is not clicking but I think his personality is the kind he can also singlehandedly turn our fortunes around.

Still so poor and some of his decisions is so questionable!!!

Disagree with that. You don’t overlook arguably our best player over the last three seasons on basis of a slow start to the season. 
 

I wonder if there is more going on with Mason off the pitch that we simply wouldnt be aware of. Genuinely hope all is ok as he isn’t the same player at the moment. 

I have never seen him so visibly frustrated as he was today. Arguing with teammates, getting into a few scuffles with the opposition. Like everybody right now, he just looks lost and hasn't got a clue how to change things.

Bad signs really. Bad signs if we are not pulling together as a team and looks baffled as to what is going on.

Playing him in the pivot was a recipe for disaster in the first place. 

I've always been a big fan of Mount but he has been worryingly out of form for some time now. Think he's had his chance to play himself back into form and now needs a spell on the bench. Hopefully Potter can work with him and get him back to something like his best, otherwise he will be in danger of becoming the next Deli Ali (God forbid!)

He’s won it twice because he was our best player for two seasons. It’s not rocket science. 
 

He has been pretty sh*t this season but he is easily our best midfielder / attacker when on form. Potter’s biggest priority should be getting Mount back on form.

He wasnt last season, T.Silva was robbed.

I agree with that.

But the rest of our attacking options over the last 2 seasons have been so far below Oscar he stands out as a shining beacon.

I also think Mount is an 8 not a winger but hes constantly played out of position due to us having arguably the worst wingers in the league during most of his time here.

I am surprised a lot of hate on Mount. I thought he had a very good game.

Same here, not sure if you're on Twitter but its the popular choice at the moment to blame Mount for everything and pretend he's sh*t. 

On SofaScore Mount ranked higher than Auba, Kai, Kovacic and Raheem last night, but its Mount that's the problem for some reason. 

I thought he did ok last night.

Should of done better with his chance in the 1st half but better than he has been recently, and quite a bit better than Kai last night.

I've said it before but there's a weird dislike of Mount mainly by foreign fans, often Yanks. The hate he gets is pathetic and embarrassing at times, by all means point out he had a poor game (which I`m not sure I agree with about last night, but he has struggled this season) but this doesn't mean he didn't deserve the player of the year awards from the last 2 years. That's just utterly moronic reasoning.

Last night he showed glimpses of what he can do. Better than previous games this season. Still nowhere near his top level though.

As @dkwsaid Mount has not had a good season so far but yesterday I thought he was excellent. If you want to see a struggling 8 just watch kova. It was like watching headless chicken.
