Considering we were 4-1 down a draw is a great result. However against 9 for the last part of the game we definitely missed a great chance to win. If we can draw in Valencia we should be ok as long as we can beat Lille (although is by far a foregone conclusion). Last game Valencia play Ajax.

Didn't even play the minimum of 4 minutes, am happy with the draw considering but the mood is still pretty neutral as the win was taken away and we had so many chances saved

Tied  first

We're 2nd lets be honest, Ajax have to win their first two games and they've won the group, realistically we should've beat them in the last 20 minutes to go first. We have to rely on Ajax dropping points against Valencia and Lille, Lille have nothing to play for now so that's unlikely.

Edit: Scratch that I've just checked the head to head, my bad, we are winning.

Tied first with Ajax but we would be first cause of head-to-head

What about Valencia then? They are also on 7 points and beat us at home.

The one thing I have been struggling to understand with European competitions is why they blow before time is up and how they come up with time added on. It makes no sense.

Oh well, a draw from where we were is good, but Valencia's win could mean that the next game is a knockout match, and it's made it even harder because we are away.

We struggled a bit mentally when Ajax went two men down. Lots of silly mistakes. Ajax played brilliantly with 9 men. they’re no mugs. They played well below their potential in the first leg. Finally, as others have asked, who wouldn’t have taken 4-4 when it was “game over” at 1-4?

Basically we need to beat Valencia at Mestalla don't we? Because a draw they are ahead on head-to-head.

Hats off to Ajax. They fully deserved that point and deserved more. By far the better team until the ref lost his head. No way was that two reds but given that they were given we should have won it and we weren't good enough to do so. We didn't have the experience to take advantage.

Blind was definitely a second yellow card. The second yellow for the hand ball was extremely harsh but by the same token our 5th goal was chalked off by the bullsh*t new handball stuff. Overall it’s probably a fair result all things considered, still frustrating as I feel we could have won it at the end. Too many big chances missed throughout the whole game but that Bats one at the end was very poor. Middle of the goals, free strike, just put it either side and it’s a goal.

4-4 after being 4-1  down in the second the point is good. But vs 9 men it’s a shame that it couldn’t been all 3.

however before we start moaning about the lack of a winning goal that was a remarkable comeback to say the least, and it’s made for a great last 2 rounds in the group with 3 teams on 7 points.

Carefree then
