Tammys miss from about 15cms I remember, but don't recall timos header yesterday. Don't get me wrong, he was ineffective and made some bad decisions, such as shooting when he should have played in Ziyech, but I don't remember any genuine goal scoring chances he had. 

First half when he went for a header and clipped it above and away from dave who would have had a free header inside the 6 yard box. This was from Silvas cross from a corner that was cleared.

We're 3rd for shots, 4th for shots on target. That doesn't tell the full story, but it does say we are creating chances to shoot on target, so we should be converting more into goals.

Saying Haaland or Lewandowski would not score in this team, i couldn't care if they would or not, all i know is that Timo should be scoring them, that chance he had early on that he skied about 10 metres over the bar, i bet you Haaland or Lewandowski would of tested the keeper 9 times out of 10 in that scenario.

Most shots taken by far

Most big chances missed by far

Most times been in offside by far

I'm pretty sure that if Tammy had this amount of trust that he would have scored a lot more goals than Timo has done. Not even Morata was this wasteful as Timo has been.

I don't think so Gol, Tammy had been found out.

He can't stretch the game like Werner.

He was having the ball played into him yet just being pushed out of it and refs didn't want to know.

He was unable to get on crosses across the line and incapable of converting headed chances. 

I just would like TT to freshen up a bit earlier if we need a goal and use Pulisic or Havertz. 

Surely we will get a better striker option next season.

Ahh yes, damn, if he had of left it, Azpi should have had an easy header. So frustrating! TBF, dont put that down as a proper chance, but certainly a decent half chance.

Couple of minutes later he was in an even better position that that and should off shot but chose to pass to Ziyech instead. He passed because he smashed the previous one over the bar.

Half chance for him, very very good chance for Dave he spoiled by not listening to the shout. You could hear Dave calling for it.

He barely played in this new system. Give him more minutes but don't say he's been found out because he barely got to play.

I saw someone comparing Kezman to Werner saying that Werner scored more goals than Kezman or something like that... Yea 2 more PL goals in around 1700 minutes more that's almost half a season more!

Let's try him out as the RWB. He has pace, work ethic and it keeps him away from being the main forward. Plus he cost about what Chilwell did. Sorted.

I think, generally, I’d still prefer Werner being aggressive and going for the header every time in that situation, shout or not. Slump aside, you want a forward attacking a ball inside the 6 yard box (he should have powered it home) rather than your defensive-minded wing back calling him off.

He works hard. Eventually it may come good for him though he is frustrating.

Another match winning assist. Huge contribution again. Mostly rubbish,  but another match winning impact. 

They gifted us a penalty just like we gifted them a goal. He wasn't going to assist anything for real there.

Laugh away but i STILL think he’s going to come good next season. Interesting to see he the good will among the fans and maybe he will thrive off that.

27 goal contributions now, With a lot of the recent ones being absolutely key, game changing or match winning goals. 

Decent first season and a very good goal contribution return, that is favourable with other top strikers we have had in the past...and all this despite his rubbish finishing.

 

Does anyone honestly think we'd be in 3rd place and in a CL final without Werner this season?

Which assist would that be? You do realise you don’t get an assist for winning a penalty right?

I thought his all round game was ok last night, the turn he had in the first half was brilliant. I reckon he is the worst finisher I’ve seen at the club, including Torres and Morata. I don’t think even those two would have managed to miss that ball with their head and then elbow it in. I did love his audacity to celebrate like it was a genuine goal though 😂. We got away with it and that’s the main thing!

He's been a key player for us for sure and I would be really happy to see him scoring in the CL final now.

But so far he has the most big chances missed, most shots taken and most times been in an offside position so this narrative about how he has been so amazing is just ignoring a lot of reality, anyone that really thinks that his first season is comparable and up there with the likes of D.Costa is deluded, that much is proven by now.

I like him because he proves the adage of 'I don't care if we play bad as long as we are trying' to be absolute bullsh*t.

So past year or two we've knocked that one, and the 'I don't care if we finish 10th if we play the kids' and reach a new level of honesty.

Reminds me a bit of Schurlle who was a bit of a fan favourite but he had the benefit of not having the entire attack put on his shoulders

Interesting to hear McClaren on Sky, who says Werner is being asked to be a ‘Goal poacher’ which he isn’t naturally, he might be a c**t, but he knows about quality strikers, and what they bring, as a Goalscoring wide player ok, zings, Wilson, Calvert-Lewin, all are more natural box players.

Werner off say Haaland would be scary.

Strange thing with Werner is he is putting away the off-side goals yet not those in open play.

The way he is celebrating when he thinks he has scored suggests he badly wants to score.

The lad will come good , amazing attitude and self belief. He’s not one to give up like some we have had in the past.

that said I think his position is a second striker or on the left as a front 3 with a true cf down the middle .
