How is Tammy being scapegoated here? f**king hell ? the whole team has been sh*te.

Everyones favourite ‘dominate the flow of a game’ Jorginho has been f**king anonymous. James the wonder kid is beaten so easily defensively. Pulisic has had about 2 runs where he got near the box and then... lost the ball. I could go through the whole team.
Tammy is  completely isolated dealing with sh*te long balls and getting no support. His hold up play should be better but he’s far from the worst out there.

Every single player in our team is losing their individual battles & when that happens you have absolutely no chance of getting anything out the game.

You could easily justify being the first team in a competitive game to make five changes at half time. Unfortunately we can't change Barkley, Jorghino and Mount as we don't  have three options on the bench. If we did I'd be minded to do so. All three awful. Surely one of them will be hooked.   Not a lot of point changing a centre half as they are all as dodgy as each other. Was it last week Zouma was now first choice? Now he is utter gash again. Could maybe bring on Alonso and put Azpilicueta into centre.  There really isn't anything surprising about this. We are bloody fortunate to have got the points we have since football returned as we haven't looked convincing in any of the games bar a spell of the City game.   If we end up not qualifying for the CL, especially if City ban not overturned, don't be so sure Lampard will be on charge next season. Abramovich is spending again and he might not be willing to give it to a manager who seems to be struggling tactically. I doubt the Chelsea ties will buy him much grace.

This.

Everything that needs to be said.

No point on just blaming whichever CB's happen to be playing. There is no pairing from our squad that is close to the level we need, as has been proven all season long. Same with our FB's.  They all need replacing!

Worst 45 minutes of the season so far. Too slow, second to every ball, first touch a tackle too often and the lacklustre defence we’ve become accustomed to.

2-3 subs needed at half time. Possibly Abraham, Jorginho and Barkley all off. Put Kovacic as CDM and let Loftus Cheek and Mount go ahead of him. Giroud for Abraham who has been awful again. Too many sideways and backwards passes between the centre halves and Jorginho. We don’t need that at 2-0 down now.

Most definitely especially when u consider that last seasons defence was waaay better than this and its the same players except CALAMITOUS DAVID LUIZ. LAMPARD HAS TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT.

It does make you wonder how we have gone to being one of the worst at defending. It definitely looks like it’s more than just personnel

Disappointed he started with Tammy and surprised he kept the same full backs despite Hodgson showing how to beat them against Palace.

Frank seems to be underestimating our opposition, cannot see us getting any more than a point here if we are lucky.

Serious question, what does Christensen offer?

Doesn’t mark his man, hasn’t got any positional sense or awareness, no strength, just gives away free kicks.

Even with Werner, Messi and Ronaldo up front we still would have conceded a couple of goals.

Mount at fault for the first goal, Barkley offers nothing and Tammy looks like a 16 year old  with the wrong boots on playing his first ever top flight match.

We look naive.

Because Abraham has been like this for months now. If it was a one off, people wouldn't be saying much.

I agree when you say the whole team has been sh*te though.

neither are the pros  we have...

I hate to admit it but I agree. Hazard and strict tactics have masked so many of our deficiencies.

After thinking about it a bit I have concluded that we’re not playing well today but we’re not getting thrashed so it’s not terrible either.

I just have to keep remembering that my expectations of Chelsea are still based on the Terry, Lampard, Cech, Ballack, Carvhallo, Robben, Drogba, Essien etc etc era, not this current standard of players we have.

This squad is bang average. There’s only Willian who would have got in the squad back then.

It’s just difficult to adjust the mindset and come to terms with having a squad that’s a bit mid table after we had one of the best squads in the world for ten years or so.

Why are people blaming the players, there has been at evident tactical defensive issue from day one and it hasn't changed one bit.

You could spen £200 million on defender's it simply won't make a difference.

Swap Sheffield defender's with ours and see if the performance they are putting in new carrier's over to us.

If you don't fix the tactical issue first you will end up exactly the same place.

And when I speak about tactical and defending I am talking right from the front, defending start's with your attacker.

What about in the case of Klopp/Liverpool who were gash at defending before they signed Van Djik? I genuinely think our defenders are brain dead in the same manner Lovren was for Liverpool until he got replaced.

I do feel Christensen is the scapegoat again. Don’t get me wrong - he’s been awful but arguably our least bad player. says it all about our performance really.

He hasn't won a single ball off a striker back to goal. He switches off for both goals. No one covering themselves in glory but to say he is being scapegoated is just not fair.

How does he end up being 3 metres outside the near post for that second goal? McBurnie and McGoldrick aren't Didier Drogba. Defend the f**king width of the goal like you're taught in under 12s.

Reece has been atrocious defensively since he came in to the first team - we writing him off too yeah? Just making sure we’re consistent with the young players being poor for periods?

No he wouldn't. Give me Robben, Duff and Joe Cole over Willian any day.

We have not threatened at all.

sheffield are happy to o just sit back and keep it tight

We are there for the taking though. If we don't improve immediately I can see the getting at least another one before easing off

Absolute Garbage in that first 45. Pass, pass, pass.........................too ponderous with no real intent.

Fair play to Sheff Utd, they  knew their game plan and have executed it perfectly. No stars in their team, just great work ethic and they exploited our sh*t defence.

Only Pulicic has looked any good out there - the rest poor.

Need a Massive second 45, with those strange looking substitutions!!

Abraham is three years his senior. Not sure you can even be called a talent anymore at 23. It's time to perform.
And he hasn't since bloody september.
