Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*

Featured Replies

Tuchel also mentioned Kante. He always wanted to sign him. It is pretty clear Kante will feature a lot. There are a lot of rumours on Billy going out on loan. Seems like Billy steps aside if those rumours materialize.

He said the team and assistants told him what kind of side Wolves is and that their biggest threat is counter attack. This is why Tuchel wanted to put 5 at back and keep the ball. He also said he wanted to field experience because it is safer. He played it safe if anything.

That is my point he should've realized Wolves were in ultra defensive mode and came for the 0-0 and he didnt need 3 CB's patrolling the defense.

He trusted the group and wanted to stay true to his football idea. But he also played it safe. I agree.

This is a team that haven't kept a clean sheet since October. Realistically the team he put out should have had the nous to be able to score 1 goal. And on another night maybe we would have.

Tuchel said he wanted to match them as they were playing 5 at the back

The point is not based on why he started with 3 at the back which is understandable, I just felt he could've sacrificed one of the 3 CB's in the 2nd half considering we knew in the 2nd half that Wolves were here for a 0-0 and were pretty much playing 10 men deep with no high press.

It's his first game so I don't want to be overly critical of him but it's just something I felt he could've changed.

Well put, this is exactly how I feel. I have absolutely nothing against Tuchel, hes a manager been given a job and I hope he does well. My biggest problem is with the hiring of Frank Lampard and the academy lads coming through I felt a connection to the club again after several of losing interest as we slogged from one new shiny manager to the next, new shiny overpaid mercenary player to the next with no plan and no real affinity with the fanbase. This coupled with the way football is now going, diving, VAR, corruption, disparity in financial clout between the big clubs and the rest etc and I just was losing interest in the game, and Chelsea. Then along came a legend as manager, who was bringing our exciting young players not only onto the bench but front and centre in the team, they were given responsibility and were running with it. It was fantastic, I felt a connection again, a reason to watch the matches that didnt entirely hinge on the result. I could see where we were heading, a club built around the fabled academy with a manager who got the club  (and I hate using this f**king term as its so scouse) and hopefully had the long term backing that enabled us to build progressively without fear of being booted out after 5 or 6 bad results......oh how naive I was. Now hes gone, the new manager dropped the young players for the experienced plodding sh*te we have had to put up with and we end up with a match of such unimaginable dross. I would understand had he dropped the young players because they were out of form and struggling, but he dropped a striker that had just got a hat trick, a midfielder who has easily been our best and most progressive one and a right wing back for a left winger. So forgive me if I wasnt celebrating the next new shiny manager like some are.

Everyone would have loved it if Frank would have been a success. Everyone does love that he brought the academy  players through even if some like CHO and James were always going to be in some premier league team. Me I still love watching the game, its not like diving is a new thing and in fact there is less of it in the penalty area than their used to be. Its not like there wasn't corruption and scandal in the old days as well. And I like reading what  you say even though you couldn't give a toss what anyone else thinks. There are still lots of high scoring games and the levels of skill and athleticism are excellent.

Roman would have liked Frank to be a success it was everyone's dream that's why a guy with essentially zero management experience was given the job of running one of the bigger clubs in world football. I personally think Roman has been a huge believer in Chelsea stood by the club even when he wasn't allowed to come into the country. How much more loyalty and belonging can you show than that? Puts his money down time after time.

How many people would really be happy to have Chelsea finishing mid table every season, but hey its a friendly place and lets go and have a beer.

I like my club to be ambitious. I like it to succeed. Not succeed at all costs but to be run professionally. I like Chelsea challenging for trophies and I sure as heck like watching us in the champions league. And in my opinion it takes quality to do that in every area, in the club, in the players, in the finance management, and in the manager.

A well managed team is a thing of joy, the team greater than the sum of the parts. I look forward to a time when Chelsea plays like that consistently. But that's me.

I don't thing team shape mattered last night as they just played with a low block.

I think Tuchel will realize with time that in the PL a lot more teams will be playing with a low block which has little bearing on your own team shape especially if they don't contest you in the middle of the park.

Quite a lot actually based on recent post, you know to good old 60's,70's,80's when you only have PROPER CHELSEA fans   🤷🏽‍♂️

Actually I thought we played great in that game, the scoreline was terribly misleading. As bad as it was, I saw lots of positives in that game, we actually dominated them.

Ah but you’re not factoring in the fact my old man is even more of a miserable c**t than me!

Just want to raise one more point before I start work.

Every time we play it's always an argument about "Who's going to protect the backline", I think we have to just accept it here and now. We don't have any players who are capable of it, we haven't actually replaced Matic since we got rid of him. Not even Kante can do that job, we soon learned that. It's no wonder we've been so far away from the title since we got rid of Matic (even though I think Matic was on a rapid decline himself).

Best we can hope for in the midfield is distribution anyway, so I would save all the moaning an whinging about the lack of physiciality or defensive cover in the midfield every time you see the teamsheet. It isn't going to be rectified until we get the right player in.

Actually kante did that job single handedly.

You can't say I don't want to protect my backline. Your backline won't survive.

If you want to reduce the amount of counter attacking opp for the opp, you need to do

1. Don't lose the ball easily

2. Press hard when you lose the ba

3. Tactical Foul

City is an expert at all 3 yet they still need Fernaninho as dm.

Thomas tuchel played marquinhos, gueye, and herera in midfield for psg, 3 destroyers.

😂😂

Back in the days when the Chelsea managers where given 25 year contracts which all got allowed to run full term.

Nah unless we are chasing game he won't do that. We played with jorgi + kova, if kante is available he probably would be thinking about doing although that

Even Sarri played Kante all the time, this is a player who doesn't really fit what he want from his mid. It is no brainer.

Tuch's first official presser. I enjoy listening to him. We should listen to him now that he is still full of spirit and energy. After 2 months he looks and sounds a bit different 😂. It is the "I manage Chelsea" syndrome.

Tuchel is not going to play like this every game, he said that the theme for yesterday was "less is more".

This doesn't mean that our players are not the correct ones, we did finish top 3, top 4 with Jorginho playing most of the time. Tuchel said that he wanted Kante and now he's here, he said he's friends with Giroud and knows Timo, Kai and so on.

The team is in good hands, Tuchel is an established coach.

If we play sarri ball with jorgi at the base with this team, we will struggle at both end.

Funny how people are trying to divide us into young and old fans, pretty sad actually.

This has popped up ever since I've been on this forum and it's always the older fans who assume you're a plastic new glory hunting fan that will settle for nothing less than first place. Everytime we go into a rut you hear "where were you when we were struggling in the 80s?" Sounds like you cant be proper Chels unless you were born pre 1980.

Did we struggle yesterday? We dominated the game. Did we reach top 4 and top 3 with Jorginho in the last 2 seasons? I think Tuchel won't play like this every game but if he wants to reach top 4 there is already a clue how to do it.
