We weren't very lucky trying to guess Tuchel's team, I don't think we'll succeed now either. But is fun. I will try to guess:

          Mendy

Azpi Silva Rudiger

James Kante Kova Chilwell

      Mount   Werner

             Tammy

                 Havertz             Werner

I wish T.Silva could play, in that case a 4-2-3-1 would be viable. Till then, 5-3-2.

Maybe cho instead of James.

I don't know if he's injured or not. I don't actually like this idea to play with the 3 at the back against Liverpool at all but I just can't see Tuchel changing anything till we lose a game or something...

Im going for our first loss under TT....not that we cant match them for football play, but for the fact they have players who know where the goal is.....will probably have a dozen scoring chances, and take a couple...whereas we may have several scoring chances, but pass back to our keeper.....p.s...yep...im pissed with our front men

Agree 100%, can't believe anyone thinks we will win this game.

Indeed especially after the guaranteed loss against Atletico Madrid

I didn't say we would definitely lose to Madrid, don't get me wrong I would love to beat Liverpool,I just have a feeling we won't.

Everton now level on points with Liverpool with a game in hand. Lots of teams in and around top 4 so we need to be at our best to get top 4. We do need to win this one but we must not lose.

No better time to play against them, we really need to have a good go against their defence. Unlike the United game, I don't think a draw will be  a satisfactory outcome given the circumstance.  I expect the front 3 to be Mount, Tammy and Werner, don't think either Pullisic or Ziyech done enough recently, and who knows when will Havetz get some game time?

They are in bad form, so here comes CFC to the rescue! I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see how we are going to beat them. They are bad defensively at the moment, but their front players know how to score and ours are so toothless... Now, Tuchel so fas has done well in keeping things tight at the back, so who knows what will happen?

I find it very hard to be excited about any games now, we're just so goddamn boring to watch. It's actually pretty painful watching us play, think I would have enjoyed watching a film more than the United game.

I can't miss a game but I'm just not excited at all. Probably a 0 - 0 or 1 - 0 to either teams.

I disagree with the notion that this is a must-win game in order to compete for top 4. We`ve played 26 games, are one point behind 4th and are about to face a team below us in the table. To treat that game as an all-out final sounds like sth that would play into their cards. Don't get me wrong, a win would be massive, but a defeat a real setback

Under Tuchel we've become a side that's likely to win and very unlikely to lose each game, leaning between 0-0 and 1-0 against big clubs. Even ManCity I wouldn't fear so much on our current form. So if we draw the game on Thursday I believe we'd still have as good a chance on top 4 as anyone. To put it in numbers, I'd much rather go for a 30% win/40% draw/30% lose than a 40% win/20% draw/40% lose approach.

What that approach would look like is a whole different question. So far Tuchel has achieved this stability through control, playing Jorginho and Kovacic in the middle. This time Liverpool is kind of begging us to play on the counter, with their bigger need to win and their shaky defense. Our current backline would be able to handle it, but will Tuchel?

In any case, I'm still very annoyed that Tuchel played Giroud on Sunday, because I'd much rather have seen Havertz against United and Giroud against Liverpool's improvised central defence. In the unlikely case he's at full fitness again on Thursday I'd go

--------------Werner--Giroud--------------

-------------------Mount-------------------

Chilwell-----Kovacic---Jorginho------James

-------Rüdiger---Christensen---Azpi-------

-------------------Mendy------------------

I don’t think we’re a team more likely to win, but we are a team less likely to lose.

Which unfortunately makes us bore draw specialists.

Well under Tuchel we've had 66% wins, 33% draws and 0% losses. I'd call that likely to win and very unlikely to lose.

But you're not entirely wrong about us being bore draw specialists, particularly in this run of difficult games. Figuring out how to score while not conceding remains your top priority is tricky and takes time, particularly against teams that make not conceding really challenging. But it's the path we have to go if we wanna become a great team. And if we get another 0-0 on Thursday it proves that we're starting to compete on any level

Is your name ironic? My Mojo just went out the window seeing that bollocks!

Only came to say Silva is apparently back in training....

This game worries me because as poor as Liverpool have been at Anfield we seem to be the ideal opposition for someone like Liverpool to get back into their stride.

If someone asked Klopp to create the perfect opposition to get his team firing again he would probably set the following attributes:

  • A toothless frontline struggling for goals
  • Slow buildup allowing them to get players into defensive positions
  • Lack of creativity in midfield to prevent excessive exposure of a makeshift backline
  • High defensive line allowing space in the channels
  • Possession biased with vulnerabilities against the press
  • Big name team to get the players up for the fight
  • Opportunity to leap frog them to get into the top 4

I think our style is tailor made for someone like Liverpool, I wonder if Tuchel will change things up and play a more counter attacking style which has been kryptonite for Liverpool at Anfield.

Also I think Tuchel has 2 wins in 14 against Klopp, hopefully going to be 3 in 15 after Thursday.

Yeah, could see another 0-0 as we're looking so much better defensively but never look like scoring unless we get a penalty.

With all the injuries the dippers have in defence, we should really go for it and put them under as much pressure as possible - attack being the best form of defence and all that.

I just couldn't resist not to have a sneak peek and of course it hit me like a f**kin hammer too

Im an eternal optimist but think we might be walloped against Liverpool with Firmino getting a hat trick and saving his Anfield career. And there's nothing worse than a finding out theres a closet Liverpool fan in the office the next day to rub your nose in it. I'd love to say we'd score but regardless of the manager we prefer hitting the barn door so will limit my backing to a 30 pence bet on a Chelsea victory and tiny timo to score anytime.

Must have missed the part where both of us are considered Europa league cannon fodder.

Thursday nights should be reserved for Spurs, Arsenal, United etc to play on not us and the Champions.

Might not be so bad, might be able to afford Hazard back to win us the Europa again...
