Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Tuchel wanted to sign Lukaku. He wants to make things work with him. When he wasn't playing him it was his decision to wait for Lukaku to get more ready after injury. Nobody forces Tuchel to do his job the way he's doing it.

The role of Lukaku is to score goals and open the final third for other players, so as long as he can do that he will be doing his role.

So far he has done a bit worse in comparison to Morata's first season and a bit better than Werner last season which isn't good enough, if the other two are considered as flops Lukaku is on the same path and the only hope is that he starts scoring more regularly. The only way he can do that is if he's playing so Tuchel clearly isn't giving up on him.

Werner has been a flop scoring goals, yes, but he was important for opening up team defences and to start the press high up. So I would say that Lukaku has been worse than Werner last season, as he can't open anything other than tins of baked beans, he doesn't press up front and he has changed our style of football so that we are not even among the best pressing teams this season (someone posted a statistics of the best pressing teams in the PL).

It's not that he's just out of form, he is way off form, his trademark strength has disappeared.

Last season he scored heavily in a league that is so different to our EPL.

I think the in your face physicality of the EPL has totally shot his confidence.

At the early part of the season we were marginally above Nuno's Spurs and we all saw how lifeless and embarrassing they were workrate wise.

It was largely overlooked at that point but even when he was scoring the warning signs were there that him as a focal point wasn't sustainable unless he had around a 1 in game goal rate (Villa on the balance of play should have been a draw if not an away win).

Regardless, all 3 players were bought for 1 thing and that is scoring goals and none could do it on a high level, Lukaku has this season to make up for it and I doubt he'll be able to do it because history has shown that when it doesn't work it just doesn't work. Morata was played till the end of the first season and he just became worse and worse, Werner too.

I'm happy to be proven wrong but considering that Lukaku is 10kg above his optimal level it will be a miracle if it happens. Well maybe not that much above if he regains muscle weight but he's significantly slower and less agile than the version I've seen in Inter.

Even more so than his interview and his lazy performances I think his weight gain is the most damning thing about his situation.

He had a couple of seasons at Inter where Conte had him work with a specialist to get him in prime shape, now he cannot even maintain that for 6 months and is vastly out of shape and his movement is badly affected.

You would think joining his "boyhood club" for a record fee on club record wages would be enough to motivate him to be at his very best for the club, team mates and fans but no he has been packing on the pounds during the season. Even Eden hit the burger truck in the summer and then got in shape as the season went on.

Not Rom he hit it during the season and that tells me he does not care at all and will make him very hard to sell.

Unfortunately the exact same thing happened with Hazard and Madrid. Though Hazard was levels above Lukaku ever was.

I'd be careful taking the club's homepage measurements at face value. We have no way of knowing when it was taken, and I don't think it is periodically updated. For all we know he weighed that amount in the summer after his holidays when he was out of shape. Yes, he does look pretty slow in his movements, but just assuming that he's currently 10 kg overweight because one measurement says so, isn't very scientific.

We need a pair of fat wingers to complete the front line. Eden gets the left wing slot, but who gets right wing ? (Not you Munkworth LOL)

I always player a full back anyway…

Looks like TT/ The Board will keep starting him with the goal (no pun intended) of having himself play back into form, this was from last week after the Plymouth match. Either nearly every one on here is ignorant to the finer points of being a # 9 or TT / Board are delusional?  Which is it then ?

Very easily could be about something not football related.... with that being said.....

you'd think not posting cryptic type messages that could easily be misconstrued would be the smart move here... people gonna jump to conclusions left right and center

Meh his performances, or lack there of, speak louder than his words ever have. Done caring what he has to say, is all horse sh*t anyway.

After Zouma and Lukaku are footballers thick as sh*t?

Hmm don't think we can generalize them all that way. Cause if they are what does that make all of us who come back week after week to support them?

Can we just get him away from the first team and then out of the club asap, I have never hated a chelsea player until now, he is toxic what a disgrace to the shirt.

Hoping it's not Chelsea-related but stuff like this is annoying as feck.

Social media is not supposed to be the place where you vent out frustrations

Thick as pig sh*te. Get rid.

It's wierd ... he obviously has the brain power to learn six languages fluently, or whatever number it is ... so I think all this crap has to be deliberate ... I just don't buy that he is that stupid ...
