Am I the only one noticing opposition teams targeting his side as they seem to see him as a weak link. Even with the shorter Gusto on the right they all aim their long kicks at our left side. 

Have to say Levi Coldwell is pxxxing me off with his foolhardy fouls in dangerous areas....he continuously does it....no brains although a fairly good footballer....grow up colwell

You do realise that it’s always a balance that a defender needs to maintain when applying pressure. As a youngster he is still learning how much he can get away with. He is not foolhardy but inexperienced.. he can’t back off and let them run at him..he is trying to be physical and that’s all there is to it.. Azpi was guilty of it all the time too.

please be patient with a young player.. this is his second season..

Broja is back from a seriously ACL injury and barley anyone has any time for him, other than to say how sh*t he is. 

Gallagher gets shot at all the time.

Doesn't matter if your playing LB or CB, his defending has been pretty poor. Its understandable he won't be great going forward but his awareness, positioning and everything else you expect from a defender defensively has just not been good enough. Gets caught in no man's land quite often at the back post and loves pulling at opposition players shirts.

Wins 70.2% of his aerial duals so would be a pretty daft tactic for the opposition to employ, probably hoping more they can get a winger in behind.

That does happen because he doesn't judge the flight of the ball well and loses he man at times, winning 70% of aerial duels could be against 5ft players for all we know.

He's learning on the job. Bit of a free kick magnet having to resort to wrestling his oppo in lieu of positioning and anticipation.

Fun fact of the day ... at this point of the season, Levi Colwill has appeared in MORE games at CENTRE BACK for Chelsea this season than he had at the same point last season at Brighton.

2023/24 to 21/01/24 : 10 appearances (9 starts) at centre back and 16 appearances at left back ; 2009 minutes in total

2022/23 to 21/01/23 : 9 appearances at centre back, 1 at left back and 1 at left wing back ; 813 minutes in total. Hadn't missed any games due to injury.

Nice to see a young player here that the manager clearly has a lot of faith in - if they are good enough they will play !

Think he's done exceptionally well. Not a rampaging player at left back but has an eye for a pass and is developing into a cracking premier league defender. Long may his form continue. 

I think he played his best game for us today, really solid against a very good attacking side.

Played well today should continue with Big D(🤣) in our centre unless injury does it things. 
 

I dunno. I'm not massively convinced yet. He lost Haaland for that 1st header so easily. Was decent, but there's a lot more I want to see.

Agreed. As it stands Disasi is out best overall defender imo.

Yup. Silva is our best defender but if he’s going this summer then now is probably a good time to develop a new partnership, Disasi and Colwill looks like a good one.

Would Colwill still be first choice with all centre backs fit? I don’t know, I really liked what I seen of Fofana at Leicester. He seems destined to be a great defender but then we could say the same about Colwill.

Would be great to have that selection dilemma. I actually really rate Badiashile - he looked shaky since Xmas, but I thought he had all the attributes. 

Let’s get them all fit - we may have CB in good position for years to come.

20 year old..he is still building up his physicality.. Haaland was able outmuscle him..

We should stick with him in the CB. 

He had two errors when he lost a battle vs Haaland, but overall he did a very good job and was comfort in his zone. 

I was happy with his character and performance.

To be honest both Dissasi and Colwill lost Haaland in the box on a few occasions.

Agree, a lot of improvement needed. He is 20 though, so he should be fine
