I agree with that but also feel his experience will come in handy for us, especially if we end up in an unexpected title race.

His goals too, he got 6 league goals in last season's sh*t show so despite his flaws in general play we should feel reasonably safe in expecting double figures this season.

His connection with Jackson is amazing 

Second half wasn't great but his dribbling was sublime in the first half. Should 100% be starting over Mudryk from now on

Never understood why people would want to get rid of our only actual winger that is direct and can actually do something in the box. If we didn't have him we would be aimlessly passing the ball side to side. 

Credit to him he looked really good today. Hopefully this Sterling will keep showing up for us.

Credit where it is due - he was our best player today.  Experience makes a difference.  He should continue to start, probably LW with Madueke RW

So of course we lost anyway.

Today is an example of why you need a bit of know how in your team to get the job done, if we had more experienced heads around him today than we are winning that.

By far our best player and I am confident he will be going forward. Let's not call for him to be replaced by some younger version from the french league with fancy youtube highlights and let's stick with him because if we want top 4 this season then he's going to play a huge part of that.

First 15-20 minutes he frustrated me yet again and if you read through the match thread posts, I wasn't alone. He wasn't cutting inside, he was mostly recieving the ball wide, playing it back, and then looking to run in behind. It wasn't working. BUT the moment he started cutting inside, turning and running at defenders, it was like we finally had the Liverpool Sterling. And West Ham couldn't handle him.

I thought that version of Sterling wasn't there anymore. He showed me he can still do it. It was his best performance in a Chelsea shirt by a million miles. We need to see that version of Sterling more often.

Very good first half; should have been given the ball at every opportunity in the second to attack a struggling Emerson. 

I thought he wasn’t bad today, but the majority of the mates that came to the game thought that he was sh*t, as with no end product, which is true.

He was last season, just not consistently which is understandable.

One guy called Danny who had been to the game phoned in and spoke with Alan Pardew. He was he good caller and made some really good points about how Chelsea fans need to be patient as it will take time to mould this team. Pardew said he thought Sterling was superb today. Danny agreed but said that this is not the Sterling we see every week. The words he used to describe him was "he is hit and miss. One good game in five".

TBH that's probably a fair summation of his Chelsea career to date. Hopefully today was a turning point for him.

This was true for literally every player in the squad last season since Potter.

I still maintain he could be our top scorer because he's the only one in our squad who is a proven goalscorer in this league. He's the least of my worries as it wouldn't surprise me if he plays the same against Luton.

We need to worry about getting Noni, Mudryk and Jackson to his level more than anything.

The problem is that we thought we were getting a finished article with him and he’s not scoring and not getting many assists (we ain’t scoring, so not his fault). As I say, I think that he was good today (and against Liverpool), he’s just not giving us any edge. But the alternatives are not filling me with enthusiasm, to be honest.

He has more than done his job, probably should have taken the penalty since he's the most experienced player in the team. That cut back from the by-line should have been a goal, it's laughable 3 players missed the ball in synchronized fashion.

Was simply brilliant today. I get it, he has not fully hit off in a Chelsea shirt, but some of the overreactions to him and demands to start certain players over him is just pure ludicrous. I have said before though, fans are like Jekyll and Hyde. He will put in a good game then suddenly fans will be like there is a really good player there then the minute he puts in a bad performance, it is back to square one. I am seeing people saying Madueke is not good enough now. Anyway, it is a shame no one else was really on his wavelength today. Absolutely terrorrised West Ham.

Jackson has to get on his wavelength in the box.

That cut back looked bad on the players but it took a little deflection which took it away from our players, lucky caravan driving w**kers...
