I'm not a fan. I think he's been dreadful since joining, but I really liked the way he played on Sunday. Hope it wasn't a one-off.

Got your answer tonight then eh? Very happy for Sterling.a much maligned individual.he’s now playing under a coach that recognises his strengths instead of playing him as a wing back ffs! I’m under no illusions though, first bad game he has all the fickles will  be out in force.

The Sterling we have seen in this first few games is the Sterling I haven't seen since his early days at City with Sane. As good of a coach Guardiola is, he really does make entertaining footballers boring to watch.

Just like potter then!

Pep turned him into a goal sneak. Very effective for MC, not what we need.

Interesting hearing him say he's back to being obsessed with football, back in love with the game etc.

Didn't like playing with his back towards goal etc and now feels and plays much better

I mean shots fired 😂

Did he really say this?

If he did, this is one of the problem of TT perfect football.

Early days, but if his form continues, a lot and I mean a HUGE lot of fans will egg on their face. The criticism he got was way OTT. He will have off days for sure, but the lack of support he got and people praying he was shipped to Saudi was frankly embarrassing imo. He is one of the few experienced heads in attack and sometimes people don't realise how key experience is.

Yes, he was tremendous again. His first goal was a real beauty, with the type of skill in the box we've not really seen since Hazard. Pulisic did beat some players on the odd occasion, but Sterling last night looked hungry, pacy and determined. Can't ask for more from a front player than 2 goals and an assist.

TT perfect football? Is that the sideways, defense first, unprogressive, 50 sideways and backwards passes to every 1 forward pass - dour, insipid and uninspired football we played for the majority of our time under Tommy T?

I really cant stand him, never really been a footballer that I liked, and I find him one of the most frustrating players to watch.

That said I thought the west ham game 1st half was the best I'd seen from him ever, he looked electric and unplayable. Last night he very good again 1st half, then dipped 2nd half.

Really need his experience to drive the attack and bring along the younger players, so far so good under Poch for him, so I'm happy he is stepping up.

Credit to Raheem for stringing together a couple of decent games. I have not been as vocal as @just, but have been very much of the opinion that this guy has been dialing it in and not really trying. His recent comments and upturn in performances show that this is very much the case.

Unforgivable that he has been going through the motions and not trying for most of his time here....

...but very much hope that the current version of him continues.

It is more of 5 "attacker" doing everything. If you can execute it, it is almost perfect.

So it is not about Sterling cross to jackson. It is to get whoever free to get the ball to whoever in the box.

Where has it been stated he was going through the motions and since he has been here and not trying?

When I kept seeing comments that he’s not good enough and needs to be shipped out that’s the point I knew who has sense about form and class and who actually knew what he’s like as a player!!
I also get the feeling a lot of fans hate him from the media campaign against him the guy couldn’t go shopping without being on the front of the sh*te rag so some people just have dislike for him and can’t tell you why. If you ask them their response would be “ I just don’t like him”

Poch has him playing between the channels far better than he had under Potter. Receiving the ball in far greater areas and on the turn too. No more of his back facing the goal.

Makes the Potter wingback experiment looking like a Class A Felony
