November 6, 20223 yr Many of us didn't want us to sign this has-been and today was a reminder why. The gooners looked a whole lot more mobile and dangerous with their attack whilst we had their cast-off who absolutely stunk the place out as he has done most of his time here. What a sh*t signing. Just start Broja from now on.

Makes the Lukaku window look brilliant.
November 6, 20223 yr He should not have started, everyone knew it apart from Potter. If we had to play him, at least drop one of the other attackers to make room for a defeder or MF. The way we set it up, no defence, no midfield, bunch of attackers starved of services and too lazy to track back. He's a stop gap, nobody expected 20 goals out of him. He will score a few more before the year ends and probably the leading scorer of the team.

Auba, Havertz, RLC are lazy in general, Jorgi cannot run, Dave cannot anymore, Silva is 38 and making mistakes more often because he is not given proper rests.

Forgot Sterling who is as effective in performing the defensive side of the job as an under 12
November 6, 20223 yr When you have no speed or mobility, you have to make up for it with your brain, like Silva does. Auba has nothing left in him to give. He should not be starting for any EPL team. Potter is embarrassing us by keep picking him and giving Broja crumbs. He's meant to be rebuilding the team, but he's using players way past their best and leaving out players that need developing, not bench warming.

He's meant to be rebuilding the team, but he's using players way past their best and leaving out players that need developing, not bench warming. It was a lazy team he selected today. Either players who are past it, like Auba and Dave. Players who have no speed, like Jorgi. Players who are woefully out of form, like Mount. Or players who are just lazy on general, like Havertz, RLC and Sterling. It was easy for Arsenal to outwork that side and not get out of 3rd gear. At a minimum Potter should have put out a side he could honestly say worked hard, and he had the option to do so with players like Gallager, Broja, Kovacic and Zakaria all left on the bench. Sure he had to play Dave in that back 4, but he had options ahead to give us a more solid, hardworking midfield and attack. Zakaria Kovacic Pulisic Gallagher Hall Broja. Maybe we still lose but I doubt we see complaints about effort.

January 6, 20233 yr It's quite frankly embarassing that we keep getting ourselves into these situations. Dud after dud after dud, and it's so easy to avoid as well. Stop signing these sh*t players, I am so sick and tired of watching sh*t strikers play for this club.

Certainly is embarrassing when just you average fan can know beforehand how bad the likes of Lukaku, Sterling and Aubameyang would be for us, but people employed by the club and paid a fortune to make the right calls get it wrong so often.

I don't think you can lump Lukaku n sterling with auba. Lukaku actually make sense. If we play Lukaku in this season version of Chelsea, you will think differently about Lukaku. Sterling if you ignore his age makee sense. Auba make 0 sense. Edited January 6, 20233 yr by Bob stark
January 6, 20233 yr I agree he's useless, but what's the point of playing him if he's not leading the line? We all know he can't press, pass, or dribble past defenders. We could have easily put on a Gallagher as a sub, and got away with it better
January 6, 20233 yr Majority of us didn't want to sign him and he is proving to be one of the worst signings in recent years. Don't want to see him anywhere near the first team - complete waste of space.
January 6, 20233 yr Hopefully Potter has realised how useless he is by subbing him off after being subbed on. Just chuck Fofana in at the deep end, he can't possibly be worse.

Bascially the downfall of this whole operation was the lack of a strong director of football, that would have backed Timo Werner after they won the Champions League. First the stupid Lukaku purchase and then to double down, they gave him away for an Aubameyang replacement. Timo Werner was the engine of the offense. He initiated the pressing similar to Firmino in Liverpool. He allowed Mount and Havertz to shine. Maybe not at the level of Salah/Mane yet, but they are young. For all his poor finishing, Werner also had a ton of assists. He ran so much, the others would have felt ashamed, if they didn´t at least try to keep up. Now they are trying to keep up with Aubameyang´s workrate and doing a splendid job. How dense do you have to be to f*** with a Champions League winning unit. Wasted money on Lukaku that could have been used to retain Christensen and Rudiger. Completely nuts.
January 9, 20233 yr Last time I saw him score was off a James cross, seems like our goals are drying up without James. We need to find another player that can create chances, noticed Fofana during his cameo appearance It looks like he is good on the ball, that might help though too early to judge.

This and what @ElTerrible said! You can put Haaland up front and even he would be underwhelming in our team, simply because we don't create anything. As a striker you rely on the support you are getting. When you are not or barely seeing the ball for 90 min. And then get the ball in an ungrateful position with nobody to link up with. It is hell for a striker and will drain you as a player. Same for Fofana. He might show the energy now, but we need more creativity from the mid, else he will also fail and people will say he is crap and want him out because he is not scoring the goals. This is also why I am still waiting with judging Havertz. I'm sure that with the right people around him, he will shine. As a Bundesliga watcher, I have seen what he can. He has got the qualities. Maybe not as a number 9, but as long we play with our current mid any striker will be underwhealming. The mid is the spine/axis of your team. This is the most crucial part of the team. Every position is obviously important. but a good or bad mid has such an impact on support for towards the defence and offence of a team.
