Right? The silence is so loud in the studio.

They keep banging on about how poor Milan was tonight.

They are never this disappointed in a non English team, you didn’t hear about how bad Rangers was last night, it was all about how Liverpool are back and how TAA has apparently silenced all his critics.

Going to enjoy this win as every win builds confidence and will in turn improve performances.

However without goign overboard Milan were particulalry open and poor and therefore we often got away with quite a poor level of ball care and levels of sloppiness taht woudl be punished in the PL. The loss of Fofana, if lengthy, could be signifcant as well. A better team would have exploited the bomb scare that was Koulibaly and it could easily have unravelled for us.

A good night though and hopefully one that has the knock on effect of building confidence andgettign players over the loss of form that we have seen so far this season.

Really liked the dominance in the second half.

I liked the way we pressed Milan high, we succeed to win many balls in their half by keeping the right positions and right timing in the press. It wasn't really a possession game, most of our attacks came by counter attacks, so it gaves us the opportunity to create and play. In the buildup we were shaky and had to kick long balls.

Everyone has made an improvement in the second half.

Important win, a very positive performance by us, let's hope we will bring it better to the league.

COME ON CHELS!!!

It's every game at the Bridge though. This isn't a one off.

Maybe you're right but particularly tonight it's noticable due to who the other fans were, they were singing and jumping there at min 80'+ at the score 3:0, those ones aren't regular people that came to see the match like our fans, those are ultras fans that can be louder even while being heavily outnumbered.

It's maybe even a different culture thing, our fans were very good at the start when Mount shot was saved and we had a corner from that side a few times and ever time you could see many hands up cheering the team because we won a corner, make no mistake our fans will be heard at the San Siro in case we're winning despite the numbers not being in their favor.

Ironic given the commentary team were almost jizzing their pants about the Italian league and AC Milan in the first 10 minutes.

Kinda disagree.

It’s October, and the amount of poor passes, poor first touches and poor ball retention from a large number of our players is worrying.

What in gods name did we do July - August?

I see your point but let's be realistic. Apart from the first 20-ish minutes we didn't make that many mistakes when in possession as usual. We even kind of let them have more of the ball and that proved to be a smart move.

Yes, there were some situations where some of the players would lose their focus, but they didn't happen in front of our goal. We managed to limit Milan to one single chance in 90 minutes and that's probably been the biggest concern for most of us ahead of the game.

Not sure whether this is a turning point but let's hope so. Favorable fixtures are ahead of us. The mentality and approach we showed tonight cannot be underestimated. Don't forget it could've easily been more than 3.

Reece is so good he's made a Junkie like Rio sober up.

If one day he gets a proper winger in front of him like he deserves he'll be even better and he already is the best RB in the league, I don't care about how well Arnold crosses the ball, James is overall a better player.

How did Leao do guys in your opinion? Would you buy him for over 100 million?

He was good in most of the first half, however as soon as James started getting tight and going in hard he vanished. If he wants to play in this league he needs to become a lot tougher and not lose interest once he starts getting marked tightly. Also he doesn’t track back which is a complete no no !!!

Trent isn't even a better crosser than Reece.

It's far easier to Cross to and assist Salah, Mane, Diaz, Jota and Firminho than it was to create chances for Ziyech, Pulisic, Havertz and Fat Rom.

If Reece had the luxury of having elite attacking players in front of him as well as a world class keeper, 3 DM's and Van Dijk to cover for him there wouldn't be any debate at all.

He's a class above Trent and it really isn't close.

Does make me wonder why Southgate hasn't tried TAA at RW ahead of James at RB

Hopefully Milans injuries don't clear up for the return leg.

enjoyed the Reece James show tonight. And Aubas number 9 finish, not had that since Costa.

Milan had 3 players out tonight axman. We had Kante out. So that's 3 players each.

Maignan, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez, Calabria, Florenzi, Ibra, Saelmakers

More than 3 @just , let's be fair. First choice full backs, keeper, 2 CMs and striker. Is half their first 11.

I only see 3 starters here. Don't reckon anyone could've made the difference as everyone in Milan was bad tonight. And football isn't an individual sport after all...

Maignan is their first choice keeper, Kjaer Tomoris main partner at the back, Theo Hernandez main left sided defender, Florenzi a starter in midfield as is Saelmakers I believe.

Ibra has been out a long time but he was first choice.

Can only beat who is put in front of you and today Milan could not handle us. Though they will look at that sitter on HT and wonder.

A well deserved victory but let's not get carried away. Milan were forced to play a weakened side and the away game maybe a different matter.   We are slowly decreasing the back and sideways passes and it was nice to see players trying to make forward passes; far too many touches on the ball though, but hopefully that will diminish as they get use to Potters set up.  A couple of player observations; I didn't think PEA was in the game until he scored and then faded. Sterling still running into blind alleys and brick walls and at times for me, he became frustrating to watch- needs to release the ball quicker. Mount clearly still trying to find his form, running all over the place trying to press, a well taken offside goal but he needs a couple of decent games under his belt to get his season going.  Kova I thought struggled at times and not the Kova we saw last season.  Koulibaly, a nervous start and still looks uncomfortable at times. Trevor was solid. Silva and Reece MOTM for me.

Looking forward to the weekend to see another few baby steps forward under Potters guidance.

On one hand, it's hard to describe our performance as free flowing, and our opponents looked very poor.

On the other hand, we just beat the champions of Italy 3-0 in a must win game!

Beyond Reece (who was the best player on the pitch), I think RLC and Kovacic deserve praise for winning the midfield battle.
