Lewis Hall - Our next big Homegrown prospect!

Featured Replies

As the new people at helm are selling and buying like madmen you can see they are not emotionally attached to players who are from academy. They are just evaluating players in a more objective manner.

When we are buying Lavia and selling Hall it tells me Hall is seen less significant prospect.

We make pure profit for the books with these boys which is enabling us to buy the players we actually want. It doesn't come without risk as you can never be sure how a 19 year old ends up being. A top player or a Dele Alli just to use one example.

Shame to lose Hall but I am not an expert of evaluating players. What is also very important is the personality. I have no idea how this boy is.

Damn wasn't he MOTM when he played a couple last season?

What a waste. Rather sell cucurella....

Its probably to balance the books

One of my favourite academy players and definitely a top full back in the making. Did not think Chelsea would even entertain the idea of selling him, of all the youngsters I thought he was untouchable. Guess his camp made it clear Hall wants this move and nothing else, but I feel we should have milked Newcastle for as much money as possible. 40M is the bare minimum we should have asked for. He is that good. Ideally Chelsea should ask for a buy back clause although Newcastle are now at a different level and won't accept that.

Once, I think. Playing in midfield.

Hall was great going forward but he missed several high xG opportunities last season and was average to poor defensively. I think he would have improved defensively but I doubt he is as good as say alonso.

sensible sale in my book and I am now in the sell either cucu or Maatsen and I know which one this forum would choose.

Honestly, the owners want to win. If it comes at the cost of some younger youth prospects I think we'll have to get used to it. People wanted to keep Colwill, we have. Pochettino wanted to keep him, so we did. Unfortunately Cucurella is still here, but we have good prospects. It's not as if we don't produce good talent every year. I am sure we'll find another Lewis Hall in no time. We seem to be good at producing full backs for some reason. If only we could produce our own Kane.

This is my problem with us. When we go to buy we face high amounts that sometimes may be unreasonable but we find a way to pay up.

When we are selling, the figures are so low compared to what they would have been were we to be the club in the market for the same player.

The Chelsea tax is real….

sh*tty that's hes going, but he wants to leave, so as with Livaremento there's not a lot the owners can do, contract running down and all that.

If he wants a spot in the midfield I undestand he wants to leave.

But Newcastle have been in the market for a left back, not a midfielder. They also have Guimaraes, Tonali and Joelinton in midfield.

We can’t win them all in our quest to rebuild the squad. As long as we have at least 20% sell on then it’s ok.

We could have done with you in some of the De Bruyne and Salah threads 😅

Initial bid of £28m accepted, plus add-ons and/sell-on fee.

This is a joke really. We're throwing away this much money on unknown south american players and here we are selling one of our top prospects for peanuts. Chilwell is made of glass and cucurella doesn't know what he's doing on the football pitch. There was a place for him but the way we're buying anyone under 21 can lead our homegrown players to search for better alternatives elsewhere.
