That assist. That is a great pass. Reminiscent of KDB.  Strange, as I tend to think of Misha Mudryk as a fast [sometimes headless chicken - but in a good way] like Salah. But that pass showed another dimension to his game. Very encouraging to see.  IF he can work it out with Ben that would be great.  cucurella is more problematic as a partner on the left, but we shall see what Pochettino can do.

He's shown that dimension before. It's incredibly difficult to dribble at that speed and spot/execute a proper reverse pass in the final third - he's done that in a few games last season. You see the pace and dribbling - but Adama Traore does that and we know how 'useful' he is. It's the other stuff in combination that makes you realise why someone so raw sold for 60m+.

Experience isn't the problem. Right now Sterling is simply better that murdyk

No reason why they can't both play - Mudryk LW and Sterling RW.

Sterling has played a lot of games in his career at RW and has done very well vs LW. Slightly down on goals scored, but way ahead on assists:

Sterling at right wing is a deer caught in headlights imo. Never rated him there.  He won't cut in like he normally does as he will be on his weaker foot. He's an inside winger by nature so he'd be exposed to those awkward situations a lot. He stays wide isolated to mitigate that, and add his horrific hold up play we see a disaster of a player.

His best season at City came at RW but 95% of his goals were tap in deliveries to him from that left side.

Murdyk need to show that he is better than Madueke though.

Just watching the Ukraine vs Spain under 21 game and mudryk just got another assist, he honestly has the potential to be a world beater. Let's just hope Pochettino can refine his skills and get his fitness in a better position.

The way he left the full back a few metres behind just by a simple ankle feint for that huge chance Ukraine missed just before halftime... Not only he is lighting fast, but he is explosive over a few metres as well.

Call me mad, but Chelsea would be scary good if only we'd have a proper no. 9. A front four of Mudryk, Nkunku, Madueke/Sterling and a good striker, supported by Enzo and Caicedo and two top full backs in Chilwell and James will make top four with 7-8 rounds to go in the season.

May well be Nkunku does what Kai could not, and deliver constant goals as a false 9:

Caicedo

Enzo

Jackson

Santos

Mudryk

Nkunku

Or maybe Broja lives up to his promise:

Murdyk problem last season had nothing to do with a 9. he kept losing the ball, forced stuff and he didn't want to run back.

Murdyk has the potential to be elite but the way a lot of people describe his current game is like he is mbappe/Hazard.

Yep, not so sure that looking half decent against a bunch of 19 year olds means he'll Ronaldo the Premier League this season. Hopefully he can build some confidence and stop making so many mistakes and start to look at the very least as good as Kalou was. Fingers crossed.

From having players who couldn't carry the ball in the final half of the pitch, finish a chance and too ponderous on the ball... to having a lot of very bright, attack minded players. I expect our front line to be very busy/ industrious this year... Persistence will get goals and zipping it about through the lines... Think we got goals across the midfield and forward lines all of a sudden. Think Sterling could have a very useful season for us too...

He looked much sharper for sure, the guy has so much talent, just needs time. We’ve just got to play him, accept he will be a little raw at first, maybe some silly mistakes too. But this guy will come good. I’m sure of it

Boy he looked sharp in the game, and took his finish brilliantly, very explosive, and as rapid as I’ve seen.

Pochettino knows the ingredients for him

He took a touch and it was so heavy, miles in front of him, and he got to it and got a cross into the box, prime Henry, and Mbappe pace, I had to watch it several times, wheels on it!

I feel what isn't appreciated enough, is that even while traveling at that speed, he gets in a near perfect cross with his weaker foot. His potential is quite frightening.

Watching it at the time thinking no way he's getting to that. Is it too soon to label him a generational talent? @Valerie

Pochettino found his new Son in this kid I believe, just put up some decent tactic for him to have space in front and he'll run over most players on that left wing.

Jackson looks like an unselfish striker that will play 1-2 with anyone so this could be a great partnership.
