Shame to concede the second after the red. 1-0 away would have been a good result.

Stranger things have happened. I remember there were many similar comments when we got spanked first leg away in Napoli all those years ago.

didn't everyone expect us to lose 4-0 or something similar

Yes, as they said in commentary, Real Madrid were strangely subdued tonight. Nothing to do with us, if they had been on it, it could easily have been done tonight. On at least 2 occasions we went head to head with them at the back. 2 v 2 agaisnt Vinicius and Benzema, talk about riding your luck.

Yes, let's get one over the fans you don't like because they haven't been supporting the club as long as you, let's just pretend we won't face serious financial santions without the Champions League money. Champions League football isn't something I want just because I love seeing my team compete with the best, it's something we need to avoid financial ruin.

A lot of our "fans" don't support the club regardless how long. You've only got to look at some of the comments on these forums and social media in general

Well at the end of the day, the team battled on despite being down to 10 so give them kudos for that.  But the reality is we were outplayed all over the park. Kept giving the ball away under pressure, sloppy passing by all. Kovacic had a horrible game by his standards as did others, maybe because of the difference in class.  First goal was sloppy keeping and Kepa could have done better as should those around him. 2nd goal un-sighted but once again CC slow to react.  I would imagine Mount will start the 2nd game, Sterling will be dropped along with Kovacic.   Frank will have to play with a more attacking line up than what he did today and that will certainly help RM.

Hopefully the younger players learned from their experience today; you can't just stand around and admire the team in white, you have to match them and get stuck in and keep moving forward when you have the ball, not this stop start farce we see every week.   Far too many gaps which RM easily exploited.  Anything can happen at the Bridge, but given the fact we can't score and are clueless 20yds out I'm not holding my breath.

A little faith. Second leg resurrections do happen. Frank's chaos ball works best when there is nothing to lose.

I live in reality. This team are a disgrace and we are in free fall mode.

Players don't look arsed.

What's the point in deluding yourself to the point of ridicule?

But it seems such a dark reality. A lack of positive engagement with the world around you. Full of endless depression, and probably some bed-wetting.

2 0 wasn't an awful result with 11 men let alone 10. Most seasons I'd be confident the tie wasn't dead. However, this season, the idea that we score 2 or 3 is as likely as Mudryk winning a Ballon D'or.

Obviously we go into the 2nd leg hoping beyond belief but, after that, the season is over and we look to next season. So don't play Kovacic, Koulibaly, Havertz  or Cucurella.

As dreadful as this season has been, I disagree.

We have a strong squad which should be stronger still next season with Colwell returned from loan and hopefully a fully fit Kante.

We are crying out for a keeper to replace the two useless ones we currently have and of course as least one striker who can actually score goals (Ivan Toney would be one of my choices).

Clear out the dead wood so we have a nice leaner squad and get a top coach and we WILL challenge for top 4 and put this sh*t season behind us.

The problem is that you can't just rely on a striker to get all of your goals. The wingers, midfield, full backs and defenders all need to chip in too. Even if we could rely on a striker, Ivan Toney isn't that player. He's no Haaland and he's likely going to face a long ban from the start of next season because the stupid twat got himself into trouble for gambling.

James attitude in this game epitomized  the whole  team in that they all have a couldn't care less or give a f**k. The least likeable Chelsea team ever. Bunch of overpaid and over privileged imposters

Wtf was that James??? His attitude stinks this season

He is playing like someone who does not want to be here, would not surprise me if he does not. This is the Chelsea he grew up in.

I hope you will remember these words in a week.

Are you including the match going fans in that then? because most of them seemed to have been stunned into silence all season. They can feel what is on the horizon.
