I think 4-6 weeks would be enough to do this. An injury to JP in this time could totally derail our season. But I wish we would still let Jackson go mind you….

We don't have to grant his wish, but it's sh*tty not to after telling him we don't want him for over a month and using him as the player to move on so we can improve the squad. They gave him a contract extension, and a big pay rise, had Maresca spouting in the media about him being great and his ideal signing would be a second Nicolas Jackson, and then u-turned completely to try and offload him to anyone that would take him, having signed two players to replace him. My loyalty to CFC would be way below zero at this point. You can't trust people that flip flack like that at the drop of a hat, and I certainly wouldn't want to work another minute for them if it was me.

I think with the speed of this reversal i cant help thinking Maresca wasnt wild about only having two strikers in case of injuries and maybe mentioned this to our two sporting geniuses who have had to U turn a bit quick in an attempt to prevent embarrassment, but i think they are woefully exposed with this error.

For blue co, all this player are basically asset.

Jackson is off for ACFON regardless and if he performs in Delap's absence then there's no reason he would get dropped.

Also I think Delap and Pedro together is temporary until Palmer is fit.

I'm not so sure. We lined up with Delap and Pedro in the starting 11 vs West Ham before Palmer was pulled out before kickoff. I don't think we planned to start Estevao this much so early and if Palmer was fit, I think he would have played ahead of Estevao.

Not how I see it.

He lost his place due to ill discipline. Delap and Pedro are much needed competition for his place. The 2 new lads came in a did well and pushed Nico to third choice. Nico wasn’t happy and told the club he wanted to leave. Maresca then dropped him from squads.

This is his chance to resurrect his Chelsea career if he wants to. Sure he’ll be pissed at travelling to Germany and having to turn back but thems the breaks I’m afraid. He’s going to get minutes for the next 8-10 weeks minimum it looks like so it’s up to him.

I’d have preferred to move him on of course but there are very limited options out there for us at this late stage.

Wise move to bring him back. It would be completely stupid to let him go now. We can’t survive playing 2 intense games a week with just Joao Pedro.

Apparently he’s not happy about it. This is where Maresca and the club need to show him some love. Tell him that he’s He’s going to play and they can revisit a loan move in January. We can also play left wing so plenty of game time.

A lot will depend on who was told first. If the club called him directly to explain the situation then I can see him getting over it.

If the club have informed Bayern first then I’d be apoplectic and try and force the move anyway.

There’s going to be a few very important conversations over the next few days that’s for sure.

Delap getting injured has got us off the hook actually. It was dumb to go into the season with one striker. If this happened a week later then we’d be in big trouble. Should never have allowed Jackson to go in the first place. There’s no reason why he couldn’t rotate with Delap. Our SDs should’ve learned from last season. Idiots.

When players go on strike to force a move I have no issue with that as here is a first class example of a club f**king over a player and he just has to accept it.
