And return to the same problems we had before it? No thanks. If VAR goes, then the PGMOL needs to go with it. I haven't forgotten all of the sh*t that used to go on before VAR. VAR hasn't improved things because it's been used wrongly by those in charge.

I would 100% take how things used to be compared to this. This version of VAR is not compatible with football

Well done lads, shocker of a first half quite worrying.

Nice for Broja.

We upped the tempo second half. First half we created nothing, but not did we ever look like conceding. Pretty comfortable overall.

Commentator didn’t once change the tone of his voice when we scored and the co-commentator absolutely hates us.   Screw both of em 4-0 into the next round.  Keep crying.  Feels like we’re starting to score some goals too.  On to the next one.

d**khead should stick to talking about sh*tty homemade robots falling apart.

Fair play. Good win and will give some confidence. Nice to see us progress. On paper we should've won anyway but we are Chelsea. Had we lost we'd deffo have something to complain about. On to Boro on Tuesday and Fulham on Saturday. Til then folks KTBFFH

Enzo's goal was disallowed if we don't have a VAR check ... VAR is a good thing, they just need to tighten up on the process and the people element.

I’m with you, but they can’t all be bad players. I’m less than thrilled with Poch - we’re 8 months into his tenure and I don’t know what his style is. Nothing is progressing.

my biggest concern is how little he gets out of Caceido and Enzo, especially given their former success or effect at international level. It’s just so flat - they should be dominating this game.

Yeah... I'm beginning to wonder why we paid so much for those two...

I agree, it's terrible, but I would rather it was improved on over being thrown out completely and return to the sh*te we had before it.

It can work if we put people in charge that are competent. Drawing a line on a computer shouldn't be hard, and if it is, then these refs need to be trained to use technology properly or replace them with refs that won't struggle with it.

It took me 5 seconds to see that Enzo was onside. A quick drawing of the lines just to confirm it should be all it takes to come to the conclusion that he was onside. They are making this system seem to be much more difficult to implement than it should be.

Anyway... another win and good to see Broja playing with a bit of confidence - he's a better striker than Jackson - not saying much but after he scored you could see he's got more in him - I think.

Commentator genuinely didn't know that a player's head counts when drawing offside lines.

To be honest the choice by the premier league to not have the semi automated offside system implemented is very weird.

To be honest don't think how it was before was that bad, the refs can always be improved on but I don't recall decisions ever being as discussed as they are now, if feels like teams play football while we wait for an extended VAR break.

He also kept calling Enzo Mudryk !!

100!

I still think the VAR idea is good but the personal in this country is a shambles.

Bring in automated offside, don't let the clubs vote on it,  just bring it in for the good of the game!

That alone would speed up the VAR process tenfold.

And as much as I dislike Everton that sending off was wrong IMO.

The standard of refereeing in this country is why people hate VAR if you really think about it.

Didn’t understood all the doom and gloom at half time that I was seeing on social media. It’s like people haven’t seen an fa cup tie before. Preston were always going to give it a go and we still should have been at least 2-0 up with clear-cut chances for palmer and enzo. In the end we could have easily won by eight. Just feels like people watch chelsea games now ready to moan from the very first minute.

Much better second half then. None of the options I have show FA Cup so commentary only, sounded better.

Am guessing Sterling played his way in to the Boro line up then? Maybe with Noni on the right?

I was on the fence until that Colwill "handball" against Brighton, now I'm firmly pro VAR.

You don't? The reason why we have VAR at all is because of how bad things were before.

The reason why it's not working is because the refs are looking for any reason to disallow a goal, give a red card or give a penalty. Everything is overanalysed, and the constant changes to the rules aren't helping things. Nobody knows what a handball is anymore because it changes every season. They slow the replays down so much to the point where it is played frame by frame, and they do this when deciding to give a red card or disallow a goal too. None of this needs to happen. Unless it's clear and obvious, then stick with the refs decision. It's very simple, but the refs are making it so much harder than it needs to be.

Everybody is sick of VAR, but it's not the tech that is the issue, it's the refs themselves. If it was turned off, there would be relief early on, but soon enough, the poor decisions will start piling up again and the fans will react as they see their team on the end of multiple bizarre decisions against the likes of United and Liverpool.

That red card for Everton was as bad as the one we got for Gusto. This is what I mean by them not being qualified for the job, they don't even understand how much of a difference it makes when you slow down the footage. It's not a true representation of what actually happened.

Has to start week on week out. That's a no brainer for Pochettino

Not so sure. He’s willing to attack defenders, puts them on the back foot, gets crosses into dangerous areas, not afraid to have a shot.

Sorry Loz, can’t have that sh*t, this is modern Chels.
