We still played crap today despite the scoreline.(i know people will disagree). Too many stray and sloppy passes. Just few less than Boro today. Most of our goals came from Boro sloppiness giving the ball away cheaply.  I'm not flattered by that scoreline at all. I want us to see play well, control the game, have energy and creativity, dominate the opponent. I don't see any of this and at the moment... Anyway, Let's enjoy the moment. We are in the Cup Final and that's what counts.

You are entitled to your opinion and if that’s the way you saw it. I think playing crap was a bit strong. Certainly I’d have liked to have seen a bit more intensity and a bit more exciting goalmouth action but a 6-1 win is a good performance any day of the week and we are in a final.

I'm very happy that we are in the final. Don't get me wrong. It's big for the team. I'm not happy with the quality of our overall play despite the scoreline. We started really poorly and continued like that all the game. Boro was just abysmal today.

Thank you for your comment. Maybe I'm too critical. After that poor game at Boro i though we would show more intensity, creativity and anger from the get-go.  I think we started poorly and mostly continued like that. Despite few good patches, there were too many casual and sloppy passes. It was Boro who messed up big time today gifting most of the goals. Pochetinno needs to show some progress in overall quality of play and build some identity otherwise it will be a faceless team labouring games.

Schurrle wasn't great, he had a few moments, but he wasn't anything special, I would fancy a young De Bruyne to displace him easily. Willian was a winger, Oscar was turned into a workhorse that could go one game where he could pull out the sublime and then the next game he could barely play a pass. In De Bruyne's 2nd season at Wolfsburg, we only had one attacker in the whole team that was better than him, Hazard. Everybody was certain of how good De Bruyne was going to be. It shouldn't have mattered who was ahead of him at the time, players like that should never be let go. It was short term thinking. It would be a bit like Barcelona letting Messi go because they had Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Henry.

KDB played RW iirc.

I agree letting him go was a mistake then but Willian and Oscar provided a lot of balance to the team during Mourinho’s tenure. The perfect time to have brought him back was the season after we won the league, when it was evident we needed more attacking impetus given Hazard carried the team the second half of 2014/15.

I'm glad they're panning cameras on the miserable Boro fans. They were giving it large last week.

Yep they were celebrating like they were already at Wembley at the riverside…I remember leaving thinking ‘you do know there is a second leg at sb right?’

reminded me of tromso - almost as far too 😂

Comfortable in the end. What a great signing Palmer has been. In contrast, Mudryk has made zero progress in a year. First two goals from miscues by Broja. Guy just looks so out of sorts. Disasi is looking like a solid defender and a cool finisher too. Chilwell had a very good 60 mins.

Hope we get Fulham in the final.

Boro worked hard and did their fans proud over both games.

The class and fitness difference is there for all to see, and we rightly put them to the sword.

Well done lads.

And come on Fulham tomorrow!

We didn't play badly at all.

Nothing special but we didn't need to be against very poor opposition who made a lot of mistakes and we punished them time after time,  it was a much more clinical and confident performance and trying to pick fault with the overall performance seems nitpicky.

Obviously 1 or 2 players should never wear the shirt again and we know who they are but they're only playing due to injury they won't be involved in the squad when everyone's fit the actual core of the squad is improving by the game and things are a lot more positive than they've been in some time.

I wouldn't say I said so 😁, but always confident we'd turn it around in the return leg. The manner which we won was very impressive, Boro wasn't great but you have to do the right things to make them look ordinary in a knock out game. We are creating and scoring, players looked fitter, maybe those never ending running in pre-season is starting to pay off.

Probably same team against Villa except Gallagher for Mudryk. Sterling left Palmer right.

I think Madueke will come in for Broja also with Palmer moving in the false no.9 and Sterling and Palmer as the wide men with Gallagher playing as the no.8/10.

Almost as bloody cold too...

I think Liverpool is the right opponent for us in the final. Fulham would be something we want because winning the cup would look more probable. If Fulham deserve the spot in final that is fine.

Winning Liverpool would feel so much better. They have improved since the start but so have we. I think it is pretty even tie.

Chilwell played really well and I’ve been happy with Gustos performances.

The question I have is do we think Poch will play them both at the same time?

Chilwell was different class today, Boro couldnt deal with his runs at all as long as his fitness held up. Poch obviously likes the balance of one attacking full back and one defensive. I think Gusto will be the defensive one between him and Chilwell, and can do that role just fine. I’m more intrigued by what he does when James (hopefully) gets back to full fitness. In pre season he moved Chilwell to the wing, but I think we’d be better off trusting them to find the right balance between attacking and defending themselves - we just need them both to be on the pitch at the same time which I almost dont think has happened at all during this season
