Manchester City vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 17th February 2024 17:30 GMT

Featured Replies

Really solid performance today. I'm glad that I am frustrated that we have only got a point.

Disasi exceptional.  Gusto really strong. Colwill's best game. Fernandez pretty much bang on all game. Gallagher excellent. Palmer and Chilwell solid.

I'm a bit disappointed in how underwhelming Nkunku has been so far. I'm sure he'll be great in his right position but currently he looks way off of the pace of the PL.

MOTM Disasi for me comfortably.

Nkunku sub was not where he messed it up. The trev one gave City a little more incentive to push up but the Casadei one took off our hardest working forward and within a minute Casa fails to close down Rodri and they score. Had Jackson stayed on he blocks that and we win imo.

Taking Sterling off was a bit mental!

I thought taking Palmer off was ridiculous. The one player who can actually hold on to the ball. What on earth was Pochettino thinking? Bringing on Chalobah who’s been out for months and Casadei for Jackson in a high pressure match? If you want an example of how to screw up in-game management, today was a Pochettino masterclass.

Some game. Still a bit shattered from watching it !

We could have been 3-0 up at half time!!

We looked like a team today. Great defending at times. Midfield worked very hard.

And credit where it is due up front to both Jackson and Sterling.

I spent the evening in a restaurant in a 17th century fortress, no wifi or intrrnet connection, so I could only check the score hours after the match. How the hell did we manage to draw, and avoid the 4-1 drubbing I predicted ::ChElSeaFLag:: ?

Played like a team with desire and commitment to the cause. Disasi had his best game yet, A pacey and solid back 4. Full backs were immense bombing forward threatening and marshaling City well. If Jacko had been more clinical could of won. He did get the assist. Was a bit like Porto at the end , unlike that day they equalized. Best outing of the season just in time for Final vs Bindippers.

Good point but I can't help but feel disappointed that we went defensive too early.

Prior to the changes we looked like we could score a second by countering them. Palmer should have stayed on as we always looked he could create something.

Nkunku was a passenger.

Really good performance all round. Disasi and Gusto were excellent. Chilwell looked more like himself and I thought Colwill was very good considering he’s been leftback most of the times he has played this season.

Our midfield looks more at one with each other and the forward line worked hard.

Everyone has their own opinion on the subs and in everyone’s mind they are right but we were tiring, getting overrun and needed fresh legs.

We still have a big injury list and this leaves us with a very weak bench.

Nkunku has been disappointing since his arrival but he’s new to this league and coming back from injury so I doubt we’ll see the best of him until the end of the season or next. Also he’s not a CF, needs to play off someone and the only CF we have is Jackson. Who do we drop to play Nkunku.

Good performance. For a minute there, I thought we might win it, so a little frustrated we couldn’t hold onto our lead.

It shouldn’t be lost on us that was the first time since December that City have dropped points, so this is a significant result for us.

Disasi and Gusto were excellent. Both are really solidifying their spots in the team.

Now that sounds like quite a dinning experience  :)

If anything, this would be the perfect game for Silva because we aren't playing a high line. It's more counter attacking.

The other thing you're ignoring, when we play without Silva, is the evident togetherness... when he's there, whinging, it doesn't happen.

Good result, as always being a bit more clinical we could of gone a couple of goals ahead but at the same time a more clinical Haaland and the match is different.

A draw is a fair result IMO, should of been about 3-3 though lol.

Fair my a$$.

Conor, Disasi, Enzo, Gusto and Jackson all deserved to win. The whole team performed excellently well. City fluked the point.

A huge bonus point for us, even City was not at their best, usually they would have got us in the end. For once VAR was being kind to us, totally expect a couple against us next weekend. We played with good discipline, should had 2 goals by half time if not got some usual clumsy first touch. We defended well, although City was good in the second half and could have done more damages if not for a usually bad day from Haaland. Performance was good, even if we lost this one at the death. Hopefully we could repeat the performance and do one better next weekend.

I spent the evening at an Alicia Keys concert, with both a wifi and internet connection, and so I was checking the score every 5 minutes and not giving 2 f**ks about the girl singing some song new jersey (or somewhere equally depressing). I kept getting told off and "the look" as a result.

A good result, I believe that we also could win this match because in the first half we succeed to destory City's football with a proper defensive play and hit them on counters very good. We were worth more than one goal.

In the second half I think we went to low block very early.. I also think there were some panic subs.

The team gave some hope of proggress, showed some character and desire. Let's hope it will continue and we won't see a sh*t performance game after.

COME ON CHELS!

Attacker sub are fine, they were gassed.

The better question why is he bringing casedei and Chalobah instead of Madueke n mudryk? 😁😁

I could almost have understood Casedi for Palmer, would have been extra body in midfield and with ability to get forward but Chalobah was wrong, plain wrong. Sent the wrong signal and was at this point in time the wrong person. And yes Madueke would also have been useful instead of Palmer, his strength was what was required.

Equally Jackson does have the legs. He could have gone central and Nkunku to left wing. Nkunku cannot be as unfit as  he looked. Either still injured or something else going on.
