This season he's got a worse goal record than Nicolas Jackson.

Can anyone think of a Brighton player that has gone on to become a world class superstar that warrants these massive fees?  Actually I can’t think of one that’s improved over their time at Brighton.  
 

Also if we’re supposed to be copying their model and taken half their scouts why are we spending a fortune on Brighton players rather than buying players like Barco for just £8m.  It would be guaranteed profit at the very least.

We shouldn't copy there model because it will never win trophies.

There's a reason it's only employed by Brighton size clubs and not serious clubs.

The small clubs take the risk on developing these talents and the big boys pay the big money for proven quality that's how it's always worked.

I'm really not sure how we've ended up being the club paying big money to take the risk on developing 19 and 20 year olds it makes no sense.

If we can go for Higuain at a similar age then we can certainly go for Benzema !

Won't be on Clearlake's agenda though. I could see Ronaldo appealing to them however.

I'd take any of them in a heartbeat, Isak especially given our CF situation - however not sure why any would sign without CL and judging by our recent transfer activity we seem unwilling to pay the big salaries. I feel the ship has sailed on Livramento and we have Acheampong from the academy impressing apparently.

I highly doubt Newcastle are going to make Top 4, so if they stay put then there is no CL in 24/25 anyway. I suppose they might try and get their agent to line up a move to a team that will qualify ...

Agree on Livramento, but you never know ... given our ongoing injury problems, he might see more opportunity to play now than he did before ?

Fair to say Sancho is Utd’s Lukaku .. in other news we really could do with an experienced striker to help us out .. Broja is still very very raw..

Just as well start building an over 30's team...probably would be more successful than the youngsters...just have to up the sub count per game to 5 per half 🤔

IMO we should go for a couple of experienced  players on loan deals. E.G Benzema & some may not like this but Henderson would be a good shout.

Benzema on a short loan makes sense.

Absolutely no way on earth we should ho anywhere near Henderson. 

Newcastle in possible FFP trouble, but Isak, Bruno and Pope considered unsellable.

Maybe Callum Wilson is the answer to our striker issue?

Benzema is a great shout, but Henderson is appalling.

Thought that might rile a few people 😅 I see a proven leader who is motivated to still get minutes before the Euros & in a position where we only have Enzo & Caicedo who have to play every game. I must admit I can’t remember what standard he was playing at when he left Liverpool & I imagine he probably doesn’t particularly like Chelsea so unlikely to happen.

He was a fantastic leader for Liverpool. Never rated him much as a player though, and I think he's well past his sell by date now. Couldn't stand to watch the c**t shouting and gurning for 90 mins. Plus he's a complete prick.

He’s a player that does the dirty work and is always consistent. Not a player other clubs are jealous to have but a player every club needs. Makes no sense to bring him in when we have Gallagher. 

No shortage of rumours that Benzema might move this window but none of them about us. I wouldn't be at all adverse to it as a short term fix until the summer but seems extremely unlikely.

True. But Evan is 19 , not 22 like Jackson and didn't cost £32 million.

We're no doubt preparing a record busting transfer fee for him 😂😂

Benzema would be a good shout, but the other person would be a dreadful, over the hill, journeyman, ex bin dipper, and thats just his strong points.

The sad thing about all those ST rumours is that for the way we build up our attacks, Giroud would still be one of the best strikers available and a great teacher to Jackson. I miss him a lot.
