Will Jose be there in Jan? Only in Sept and they're already 8 points adrift and look a million miles off being a title wining team. And that's after spending hundreds of millions. His best days as a manager are behind him!

Unless he decides our 15/16 season needs a sequel he will survive until top 4 is mathematically impossible.

Sometimes, people say some very stupid things when they are upset. Also, Gallas has denied he ever said that.

I'd be pretty sure if he hadn't said it a lawsuit would have followed. He was good for us but when a professional threatens to do what was said, the players character has to be called into question. Depends who you believe, a c**t of the club? I'll go for the club everytime. 

I like him, he has been great for us and was a huge part of our CL winning.

I understand his wishing to leave, he still can play for a premier league team and do his job in the best way like he did for us.

Surprised and a little disappointed that he’s come out publicly about wanting to leave. Particularly being the club captain, i expect a little better from him. 

That said, he’s been a great servant and always 100%. Wish him all the best.

Been a good player for us but age is now against him.Will be no shortage of clubs interested and he will do a good job for whoever gets him.Very good finisher for a centre back.I wish him all the best for his future and thanks for his time here.

Agree he did well for us generally and was an important player when we were winning major silverware. 

He's been a good servant over the years and I for one in the last 2 seasons have been critical of some of his performances; he has though lost his pace and has been easily turned far too often; he had a great tutor and partner in JT and I think when JT left he seemed uncertain and uncomfortable at times. However, he is a brave defender and grabbed those odd important goals when we needed them.  

Best of luck Gary, I am sure you will do well with the experience you gained here and excel in a lower positioned club as a fine captain..or perhaps a move to Derby and help Frank being his team to the Premier League.

JT and Gallas were the best centre back pairing I have ever seen for Chelsea. They were both in their prime and dove-tailed perfectly. I have never felt so safe watching us defend.

Anyway Gary Cahill, I kinda like him even though he is nearly 100 years old.

And he is still a better defender than Luiz.

By some margin.

I'm with just on this - Terry and Gallas together were freakishly good. Carvalho was far more prone to brainfarts than Gallas, who barely ever put a foot wrong, and had exceptional pace to make up for JT's lack of it.

Carvalho was pure class but Gallas just complimented JT so well, we're yet too see a better centre back pairing in prem history than those 2 imo.

Spot on, i'm with you. Wasn't he all pi$$y about the england situation as well.

Good servant and will help us in a pinch but GC, to me, looks a bit of a dinosaur now in Sarri's system. Not that he is necessarily poor, but he's just a different style of defender.

A january move would be good for both parties. He can still play at West ham, Leicester, Palace and we should still get some money for him. Possibly even a makeweight for us as part of a bigger deal.

Surely we should loan him just in case he turns in to a world beater...

GC should get some kind of honor for trying to protect this fan celebrating w/ the lads

It all boils down to what you want in a defender and how you want to play. If I we are parking the bus and playing 11 men inside our own box trying not to concede Cahill is the betyer option. If we are playing expansive football were our CBs are required to press high up the pitch, distribute from the back and take the ball upfield then Luiz is the better option. Sort of the same with Carvalho/Gallas. 

Always felt GC plays well after he has been kept out of the side for a while and then after a few decent displays makes mistakes.

Thought he did alright again tonight. 

Hasn’ looked as out of place in Sarri’s system as I thought he would.  

Although technically limited, he is still an extremely intelligent player. No surprise that he is able to play a role even in this system. That role would have to be as a back up though so I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to leave.

One of his poorest games in a Chelsea shirt last night. Gary has regressed in the past year, probably one of our best value buys ever but the years and a change of footballing style has caught him up. The time is now right for him to get minutes playing for a club more suited to him.

Not arguing with anything about how bad he was last night, but how much of that is BECAUSE he hasn't been playing?  It's all about cause and effect, I think.

Terry had a few shockers towards the end of his career. The fact they were/are playing at a top club at their age just goes to show how valued they have been by the club. Sure it isn't pretty watching the demise of successful players, but, the bigger they are ....

I don't think he played particularly well v BATE either to be honest, I do regard him highly because of what he's achieved at the club but I think the time is perhaps right to part ways and bring in Rugani.
