Willian

You still didn't answer the question.

If Willian is as bad as you and many others have been claiming for several years, surely choosing to play would have helped his next employer.  If his mere presence in our team makes the chances of Arsenal losing greater, then he can't be that bad, can he?

So which is it?

How did I not answer your question exactly? Willian believes in Willian. He has to, any player at a top club must do. So he has to believe playing for us would increase our chances of winning and diminish Arsenals, and vice versa.

In no way do I believe he would play to hurt our chances deliberately, he would not do that to his team mates. He would give his best.

I personally believe him playing would have made no difference to the result. It was Arsenals day.

But as to whether he is as bad or not in general. You compared him to Jesper, a player who used every gift he had to his maximum but was just an averagely blessed player.

You should not compare Willian to him, you should compare him to Hazard. Willian has every single tool and gift possible to be as good a player as Hazard. My opinion of him as a player is low because he simply did not use these talents and drive himself on to be that good. Maybe he will at Arsenal, hopefully he does because it seems a waste of pure natural talent otherwise.

That is just revisionist bullsh*t, and you know it.  It is typical of people like you who make outrageous and. frankly, quite stupid statements and then, when they get called out on them, back-track and try to make themselves seem reasonable.  What you actually said was

" I dont believe for 1 second he was injured for the final. ........................................... Blatant ploy by him to give his new employer a better chance."

So you said directly that a player pretended to be injured to allow Arsenal a better chance to win because he was going to sign for them in the near future and so, by implication, wanted to make them like him.

I called you out on that as it did then and does now make you look like a prick, and a childish little man at that.  I bet you were one of the ones who got all screamy and pants-wetting about some instamatic photo posted by Willian a couple of years ago as well.

And selective comparisons are also bullsh*t. I didn't compare Willian to Gronkjaer, I said that a large number of people in here thought of Willian as a sub-par Gronkjaer, and that, paraphrasing myself here, they were tossers for doing so.

But you really are the first of the Willian-haters to come out with such complete and utter bollocks as "the player pretended to be injured so that Arsenal would like him".

Ok back off with the insults, that is enough. Grow up.

Your entitled to your opinion. You feel my statement was stupid, fair enough.

Willian has been with us 7 years, I think that is a good time to move on.

Thibo was with us just four years.

We will miss the hard working aspect of his game and his ability at times to hold the ball and the leave his marker standing.

I thought he had one of his best seasons this year playing 29 league games yet with newer players coming in and the contract demands think we are making a good move.

Interestingly Hazard was with us for 7 years too.

That's called an 'itch'

I will miss him. Willian is class and he will definitely improve Arsenal.

There were a substantial amount of players that needed booting out before Willian.

Abraham is ripe for getting rid of. Abysmal.

I just tried to understand why he would reject our 2 year deal extension and accept Arsenals 2 year offer, that was what the link was saying. The one reason I could think of is that he has some grudge against the club. I'm sorry that I offended you in his name.

Yes, that is of course totally the reason why I pointed out to you you were getting ahead of the facts and assuming Willian was offended, and not an attempt to get some posters here to be a bit - just a bit, mind - more sensible :face_palm:

Don't be so ridiculous.

I'll be honest, I hated the fact that Lampard was at City, it just didn't sit well with me at all. Especially considering City were title challengers at the time and he was winning them some important points, including nicking 2 off us in an away game we should've won.

So there is a bitter taste in my mouth here. I can't fault him though, they're offering him good money, and he's gave his best years at this club, I would say Willian has got a year left at top level max. A player who relies on pace is going to start losing it, he's 31, I can't see him getting any faster.

At the end of the day, we've got Ziyech coming in, who in my opinion is a much better player. Willian would've been a good squad player but I'm hoping we get to see more of CHO, he needs to step up anyway.

Isn't the three year's because he wants his British citizenship once he's worked here for 10 year's he can apply for it, I believe that's why he's set on the three years.

He's probably already got indefinite leave to remain (ILR) from living in the country for over 5 years, that then allows him to apply for British citizenship.

He could always work at Burger King after the 2nd year of his Chelsea contract expires. If he really loved the club he would do that.

Why is it ridiculous?

Granted, he has scored a number of goals for us this season, but most of these were against sub-par Championship level sides and only because our other options were also terrible (aside from Giroud who should have been playing for us 24/7).

Abraham should go out on loan somewhere and then we should sell him when his price goes up. Let Giroud and Werner lead the line next season.

Abraham complains about absolutely everything, gets offside more times than the PM lies, can't pass and has horrendous movement. He is woefully inept as a football player and could do with scrubbing the boots of better players like Azpi.

lmao shut up, back to the Arsenal forums you go.

Why would saying something positive about (still) a Chelsea player make me an Arsenal fan?

Been supporting since '94, and I've never seen a striker worse than Abraham.

Well you clearly haven't been following us since 94 if you think Abraham is our worst striker.

That's a ridiculously stupid thing to say
