I'm not sure if you are being serious but if you are then you have gone crazy This would be as much of a disaster as continuing with Ivanovic at RB. Actually, it would probably be worse. If Terry played in midfield it would probably finish him
October 29, 20169 yr Jt in midfield would be a disaster. people complain about fabregas's mobility, jt would make fabregas look like a prime lampard! Still too soon to say whether jt can play himself back into this back 3. he was poor against west ham, but he has been out for 6 weeks, which at 36 probably feels like 6 months! If he gets a run in the team, we will know whether he is capable of adapting.
October 30, 20169 yr Tbf scott, there is playing centre midfield at youth level at the age of 18, then there is playing centre midfield at age 36 in the premier league, having spent the previous 18 years playing centre back! Also i find it bizarre the you would suggest that people who would not want to see a 36 year old john terry playing centre midfield, probably werent supporting chelsea in 98. November 7, 20169 yr I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling this season will be his last with us. If it is his last, it would be fitting to see him hold up the title trophy at the end of the season for the fifth time in his career. Edited November 7, 20169 yr by Jezz
November 7, 20169 yr I feel a bit dirty and guilty for not wanting him to start at the moment while we are on this run.
November 22, 20169 yr I was watching a few highlights from the end of last season and JT looked so slow and was at fault for several of the goals I saw. I think this is definitely going to be his last season with us.
November 22, 20169 yr He no longer has a role to play in our team, sadly. One of the greatest servants our club has ever had.
November 22, 20169 yr Like i said time to move to the office i don't think he should enter management either as I don't want his football reputation to be damaged
November 23, 20169 yr Currently can't get a place in the team, probably will get some play time over the Christmas period or in the Fa Cup. Very odd not to see him in the team after so many years, i also feel this will be his final season as a Chelsea player. Hope he hangs his boots and gets a job at the club where he belongs, he can still be lured by the American and Chinese millions and finish his career abroad. Time will tell, but our greatest captain ever and very few will reach his heights.
November 23, 20169 yr agreed. for my money he's still the best defender we have but his mobility is reduced even from what it was three or four years ago, and that makes it very difficult for him to play in the current system. technically he could do the job luiz is doing, but luiz is playing well and has the pace to cover for two players who will need covering from time to time. it is unfortunate for him, but it is good for us that for the first time since (I would guess) 2002 we are able to leave him out of the side and still look very solid and organised at the back. I can't see him getting a new deal though. christensen will come back and I think we'll spend big on another defender too. that doesn't leave much room for him and I don't think he's ready to retire. November 24, 20169 yr It's going to be a very sad day when he's no longer a Chelsea player. It feels somewhat understated just describing him as a "legend". That's how much of an indelible mark he's left on the club.
November 24, 20169 yr 2014/15 was his swan song in many ways. It really couldn't have gone any better, he was the best CB in the league that season and played every minute of every PL game. Looking back maybe he should have called time then and moved into coaching. What a way to bow out that would have been. IMO he's the best CB I've ever seen and certainly the best captain I've ever seen. Edited November 24, 20169 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
November 24, 20169 yr Yeah I wonder if he feels he's ready to retire yet. He said last year that he felt he had a couple of seasons left in him. But then he's talked about retiring at Chelsea being the "fairytale" so maybe he will. It would be a shame for him to leave for another club.

November 25, 20169 yr Author Terry picked up an injury playing for the development team earlier in the week. Looks like the injuries are starting to catch up with him a bit now, I don't remember him missing this much football through injuries before. Happens to a lot of players when they reach their mid thirties, the injuries become more frequent... Sadness me to say it but it looks like JT's days for being a Chelsea regular are over.
November 25, 20169 yr Conte clearly has no idea how to run a football club, casting aside the club's two longest-serving legends like that.

November 26, 20169 yr A very honest one-on-one interview with William Gallas, as Terry discusses his absence from the first-team and what the future holds for him. http://metro.co.uk/2016/11/26/john-terry-proves-how-much-he-loves-chelsea-in-brutally-honest-interview-with-william-gallas-6284023/
