Ruben Loftus-Cheek

oh good, i look forward to regular updates on how right you are if RLC doesnt play every game...

I will be very sad if he doesnt make it and play at least 20 games (in all competition) next season. When I first saw him bully City, I thought Chelsea had found gold! I had hoped that next season he will play all CC and FA cup games and some EPL games too. I am very disappointed in him.

No, that not the reason. Betrand Traore and Kenedy showed a lot of fault and yet, Jose praised both of them. You know why? They respected the team and worked hard. Laziness is not a fault anyone should accept. This is why many English players never fullfill their potential. The fans hold them like golden geese and place them on a pedestal. Chelsea comes first! Ruben does not come first.

Is that what you call breaking into the team? Jose also praised RLC very recently. A few moments of praise from the manager doesnt mean youve made it at a top level club. How many minutes do you reckon Traore and Kennedy just won themselves when were going for a title in March or April comes around?

I actually think its more like Jeremy Kyle than Eastenders.

The point is, that you get rid of one deliberately obnoxious twat and another one pops up to take his/her place with in a matter of days..

RLC has been included in a lot of marketing for the new season. Surely he must be regarded somewhat or they wouldn't pick him?

I hope youre right, but id imagine it is just an excellent marketing opportunity as RLC is now the face of our youth system having played a couple of games last season. I suspect he is just seen as someone who the local (British) Chelsea fans can easily relate to. Would love to see him start on Sunday though and show he really is first-team ready

I'm sure everything is gonna be alright and we all would see an improvement from RLC. I hope he will start few games next season, in PL you can't be lazy as player, you just won't be a good player and RLC understands that. It's just a hard period of his career, huge difference between the youth league and the real PL, different life. I'm going to support this lad, we need more youth in our squad, he's talented and can do an excellent work with us.

He mimics Mikel in that he's looking for the simplest pass too often ...

Needs to be more ambitious ...

Mikel wouldn't be a player that I'd model my game on.

I really hope he makes it.

He certainly has the attributes if he steps up.

The lad will be fine. He's shown he can respond to criticism perfectly, and he has all the tools to become a star. Let's just get behind him and not get into all this melodrama crap, there'll be enough of that bollocks from the media.

I haven't watched him play much youth football when i saw him feature for the first team he kept it simple yes but thats what they tell young players is to keep it basic and dont get in trouble obviously different advice to an attacking player but thats what rlc will have been told by the coaches

Despite all the hype don't think this will be his breakthrough season. I have a suspicion a different youth player might sneak in this season. Not sure who though

Hopefully the positive thing we can take from todays game is that maybe Mourinho might try more youth after Kenedy and Loftus Cheek performance when they came on.

Definately. Loftus did well today against a lot of pace from Crystal Palace especially with most of the rest of the team going forward a lot.

Don't think he really did anything good, nor anything bad.

You wouldn't expect him to take many risks at his age and with his limited first team minutes, but still I wouldn't say he did better than Matic or Fabregas. He's just held to a far lower standard.

Best compliment I can give is that I didn't notice any difference in quality in midfield when he came on, probably says more about how poor Matic and Fabregas are at the moment but nevertheless this is his chance to capitalise.

Pogba this , Pogba that, this lad needs to be developed here at Chelsea so he can be our own midfield beast.

Havent watched the game yet but this has been the solution all along. Let the young man get some time on the pitch and we'll have our own Pogba.

He won't because the club and management doesn't have any faith in our youth players.
