Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Featured Replies

He won't start on Saturday, the game is too big and important plus he will have another start on Wednesday against Walsall and very unlikely to start 3 in a row.

Thats true, good point. I do think he is our best option when playing a 3 man midfield though. He offers more athletecism then Mikel/Fab and a lot more in regards to keeping the ball then what someone like Ramires does. Really feel we HAVE to play him more if we dont want to be overran in the middle of the park

I'd love to see him partner Matic in CM against Arsenal with Cesc behind Costa and Oscar wide right.

In truth its probably going to be

------Matic--Cesc--------

Ramires-Oscar-Hazard

Mikel, Matic, Loftus Cheek would be a goodbtrio to have to pack the midfield and bully them as was routinely done in previous seasons. Obviously unlikely that Fabregas misses out.

Begovic

------------

Baba

Terry

Zouma

Azpi

------------

Matic

Loftus Cheek

Fabregas

-------------

Oscar

Hazard

Costa

My pick.

"Ruben is ready. He's very confident, very good self esteem, wants to play and is not afraid of anything. He's not ready from the tactical point of view."

"The tactical point of view is where to keep working, improving, kill him in Australia, the process is on the tactical and physical side."

"To play the other night like he did, after 77 minutes he had cramp. He's not ready in that side. Mentally is ready and if I played him tomorrow it would be no problem."

I for one am glad to hear hes not physically ready rather than mentally.

positive signs. gotta believe in the lad. sooner or later we will get a breakthrough from our academy. unlike josh, who i really wanted to succeed, this guy looks like a man and can handle the physicality of the league. the fans want to see a local boy progress before JT moves on, so please please please let it be RLC...

I'm still wearing my Mceachran 47 shirt with pride... hope when i buy my RLC shirt next year it wont look similarly stupid in a few years time.
Although doing so would end my Chelsea shirt boycott that i started when FSW was appointed gaffer

Still think he's 5th choice right now through no fault of his own.

Ramires showed last night what a competent player he is and Mikel demonstrated that he's still reliable too.

Ruben just needs to keep doing what he's been doing.

Hopefully we have a couple if decent cup runs so he can get minutes and qualify quickly in the Champions League so he can get some more experience in Europe too.

At least he's getting a spot in the team now, not one of the many on-loan players. It's good to see Jose is using more rotation this season. I hope we don't sign another midfielder in January, give this guy a few more chances.

I never ever want to see Ramires starting out wide ever again.

Me either. I really think he's pretty poor out wide. He's much more effective in the middle of the pitch IMO.

You know he's not manager anymore, right?

You could see how experience and the fact the opponent was poor made Ramires and Mikel relaxed and bring out their strenghts. I still don't see Ramires being a solution to our midfield as his range of passing is poor in more high paced games. Mikel also showed when he is vaguely pressed by league one players he enjoyed his game. Again in high paced league games he is in trouble.

I think Rami and Mikel in the team is not so food for Ruben but in terms of success we need experienced players.

For a long time Ruben actually is first one who is showing signs he can make the grade.

Ruben was magnificent, but his substitution late on seems to show what Jose means about him not being physically ready. Hopefully he can build up his stamina, because when he does he's going to be huge for us.

How many of our direct rivals have a 19 year old getting the minutes that RLC is. City I can't think of any, United have the new kid (who does looks special) Arsenal, I can't think of any currently and Leicester, I'm not aware of their team so much.. Puts it in to perspective, and I think considering the amount of flack Jose gets about never trusting youth we should really take the bigger picture in to account.

By the way we have 3 19 year old all getting a decent amount of minutes, if we can get traore some time as well and improve his development their can be few complaints.

The next question is can we successfully integrate Baker or Solanki who are doing pretty well so far on loan
