Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Yeah I know but although not a malicious player our own drogs was a dick in his early chelsea career too. He was one of the worse divers and biggest wingers in the premier league for the first 18 months until JT, Lampard etc ironed out the wrinkles.

Costa can be tamed if we have a core of players big enough to show him the way.

I wouldn't call Drogs a dick. Yes, he did the odd dive and whined a bit, but what Diego is doing is different. At Atletico he did stuff like like spitting into his own hand and then smearing it on another player. I'm not saying diving is alright, but what Diego has done is just insane. He has behaved surprisingly well at Chelsea, but you just can't compare Drogs and Diego.

I love/d didier but his red card in CL final in 2008 was far worse than anything Costa has ever done..can argue it cost us biggest trophy in club football as he would have taken final spot kick, not JT...but we forgave him and how he repaid us...if Costa had bitten Barry on Saturday, I'd be rather uncomfortable about him being a chelsea player, but thankfully he thought better of it at the last second...his greatest crime was to react to getting kicked all night by Everton players with no protection from the ref...can understand why he lost his cool...I think there are many other chelsea players whose future at the club deserve to be debated before Costa, who has been our best player for last three months.

It's a Champions League final we're talking about. It's not like Drogs has done that kind of stuff time and time again. Diego does the petty daft stuff time and time again even in low pressure matches and to be honest, he's been lucky not to have been sent off at least a few times. He's been punished because of his reputation, but he's also been lucky not to be sent off.

That was AFTER the match. A big difference.

But that was insane too and at the time reflected as bad on the club as anything diego has ever done.

I want diego to stay and I do not want to compare him with drogba because for me drogba is in the top 3 most important players in the history of chelsea but there have been times when drogba has let himself and the club down but he went on to more than make up for it and that is why I am giving diego some slack because at his best he does have the quality to turn it around and at the moment he is our best player.

I feel guilty now for saying I wouldn't be heartbroken if we sold Costa. He does get targeted and all this "clever play" by other teams players, in trying to get him sent off, goes uncriticised by the Media its unfair, and I shouldn't allow myself to be swayed by the opinions of morons on the telly and rival fans.

Having said that, anyone who thinks Drogba effing and blinding after the Barca debacle was the bad, needs to lip read a game where Rooney gets in the refs face, effing and c*nting all over the place. The difference being, Sky don't turn the sound up, and show Rooney's foul mouthed ranting, over and over again.

Plus Drogba was right, it was a f*cking disgrace.

Drogba is one of the greatest players of all time at this club, but let's not rewrite history. The 2008 Final wasn't his first red card, it wasn't even his first Champions League red - he got one in 2005 in the knockout stages away to Barcelona and that kept him out of the second leg.

This is the same guy who was called a 'disgrace' by Chelsea supporters and even booed in his first couple of seasons for diving. Yet we stuck with him and it paid off for everyone.

Comparing Costa to Drogba isn't really the best way to look at this.

Drogba took a few seasons to get into our hearts and his consistency coupled with his passion made him a legend over the span of a decade.

Costa has had just under 2 seasons here, last season he was the difference in winning a title while this season he has dropped from that level. I think next season IF he stays will be the all important one.

Problem with Costa, besides his antics, is technically he's just not really all that good. He's a poacher, if the ball drops to him in the box, he'll score, but he can't pass, or hold the ball up, or dribble past anyone.

Babies dribbling on their bibs are better dribblers than Costa, every time he tries to go past someone he loses the ball. He's clinical and powerful, but honestly I think he'd be better with a more technical strike partner if we played two up front (coughTraoreCough)

He's not the most skilful on the ball but he's effective and he creates chances for those around him. Sticking him alongside a more skilful player like Conte did with Llorrente and Tevez in his last year at Juventus could be absolutely brilliant for us, but it's getting that second striker in that's tricky.

Who knows, maybe it could be Hazard.

I see that as our problem rather than Costa's. We bought him knowing his strengths and weaknesses, you should always play to players a strengths. With the tactics we play, we force Costa to stay deep, go out wide and run at defenders. We need to keep him in the box. Getting the ball into the area early from crosses and through balls would help a lot.

Is he going to play for Brazil now?

I've read some news that he got disappointed not to get into Spain's squad and now he wants to play for Brazil.

It's not permitted under FIFA rules for him to make a change because he's been capped by Spain in a senior competition.

So Costa is banned for the Villa game, f**k the FA and their bullsh*t, it's getting really tiresome

1 extra game for his 'reaction' to getting a red. I don't remember him doing anything out of the ordinary. This is getting comical now
