Right, because unless I support the club blindly I'm not a REAL SUPPORTER.

Sorry but real fans care enough to be critical. Conte was right, board was wrong.

The club failed him and the fans with their unrealistic frugality.

So if he doesn't get all his first choice targets it means he's perfectly within his rights to win 3 games in 4 months and lose 7-1 on aggregate to Bournemouth and Watford? Got it!!!!

So let's get this straight, He wins the league with largely the same group of players we have now. Take Costa and Matic out and they suddenly become 'thin and brittle' ? any players he wanted and added have arguably taken us backwards and he can't even motivate them in a second season/his methods have gone stale. Sure some of new players were chosen by the board but he makes the final decision on what eleven go out there.

What is the point in Conte if he can't even motivate the players? That's a basic requirement. The club haven't been frugal we've spent more than Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham consistently.

He's been nothing but a negative influence in this second season. You aren't being anywhere near critical enough.

You're evaluating things without relativity.

You say we only lost Costa and Matic. Yes true, but we also added champions league play.

So not only do we lose Matic, who have us strength and balance in midfield as well as sound passing we lost our most influential forward. Then we added the most difficult and prestigious competition in the world and continued to the semis of two other competitions.

That is a lot of matches for a coach who literally has no influential options off his bench. Not one single player that you would want to come in to make a difference.

You say we spent more than Liverpool and Arsenal and Tottenham. That means nothing when you are constantly evening it out sales.

We sold Costa got Morata = downgrade

sold Matic got Baka = downgrade

Conte was fuming all summer because his team got WORSE when they were mounting a title defence and wanting to challenge in CL. He had every right to be annoyed and with this tiny squad Chelsea didn't stand a chance. Please tell me which 11 you would have been choosing that Conte was somehow missing...

Liverpool went out and bought Salah, Mane, Milner, Oxlade, Virgil, Wijnaldum -- They did exactly what Klopp asked.

City - let's not list the names they bought for Pep.

Its actually outrageous what the Chelsea board did. Selling Matic to United? Wth...

And you people blame Conte because he wasn't a good enough cheerleader? It's actually naive...

If I remember correctly it was either Watford or Bournemouth that were sitting around with an 11 day rest before playing Chelsea who was coming off a long stretch of playing every three days with the same squad.

And the excuses just keep coming. He doesn't give a toss, he gave up months ago after whinging like a little girl not getting what she wanted for Xmas for months, it's pathetic and frankly I wouldn't miss him one bit as I prefer a manager that makes the best of a situation using his skills instead of just giving up.

Just because he has said certain things to the media that doesn't mean his attitude with the team has been poor. You can see clearly that he is engaged with the team on the sidelines and as energetic as ever and shows plenty of emotion throughout the match whether in positive or negative situations arise.

What choice exactly did Conte have other than to play Bakayoko after the club spend 40 mil on him and sold off Matic to our rivals? Fabregas is a solid passer as we know but he doesn't solidify our midfield and we get overrun by quality sides.

Conte had to give Bakayoko a run of games to get used to the EPL and come good. It didn't happen so he went with Fabregas as that was his ONLY option. Unless you consider Drinkwater as an option against City, Barca and Spurs?

Sorry but Conte told the club what he needed and when they didn't step up he told the truth. Which was that Chelsea board through inaction have effectively decided to be a top 6 club not a top 2 club, and certainly not a CL contender.

But Chelsea fans will continue to bury their heads in the sand and support the firing of yet another top manager. Were you also supportive of Ancelotti and Mourinho OUT campaigns?

Also, you're argument about the team not playing for Conte, sorry but Chelsea looked energetic and sharp against West Ham but with no personality up front to finish off games the draw was always coming.

Yup. Totally agree. Conte is completely faultless and hence done no wrong.

Ofcourse, there are a couple of things that need to be answered though:

1. Wait till 80minutes to make a substitution in almost every game

2. Keep picking the same team after crying like a little spoilt bitch about the squad strength before and after each game of the season

3. Keep picking cesc in a 2-man mid

4. Keep picking moses after he has underperformed for the majority of the season.

5. Keep picking alonso after the guy has seemed exhausted due to the tremendous rotation in the LWB position

6. Keep playing false 9 instead of playing a striker who is banging in for fun for BVB

7. The general sourness and negativity that this guy is/has brought is the SOLE reason we are in the position we are. If we had not qualified for CL, i would be fine with it, but the nature of our performances and results and team selections and tactics makes it so obvious that we could have done so much better. And the guy responsible to get the best out of the squad would rather ridicule the squad saying they are not good enough than bloody man-up and fight.

Conte has shown that he is an ego-maniac who cares little about the well being of the club. The guy has bought us down massively. He should be told to f**k RIGHT OFF

Sack him, keep him, it makes little difference really. There are more deep rooted problems at the club and bringing in a new manager will change nothing.

If we sack Conte, who ever comes in will be on borrowed time.

Exactly this.

You even have to wonder, if we had got Guadiola before City did, or Klopp instead of Liverpool, would both have been sacked by now for not winning anything in their first season?

Our Club is a f**king nightmare. Every other season things implode and we just don't learn from previous mistakes, Something HAS TO CHANGE or there is no hope for the next coach, or the one after that, or after that............................................

Incredible that Chelsea fans want Conte out. Chelsea fans should be outraged at the idea of it...

The man took a team from 10th to 1st and won the league. He took a team of Champions, that had stopped playing for Jose, back to where they belonged with the addition of a world class Kante. He didn't exactly do a Leicester.

Then he makes it clear to the board they would need to strengthen to win the league again and have a shot at CL. They ignore him and he ends up being right.

His reward for that is being fired?

Makes perfect sense at Chelsea...

To be fair, many of us were as fed up with Costa as Conte was. Sure, we all remember what a valuable player Costa could be when on form and with the fire in his belly. But he became a liability and a fraction of the player he was after the China rumours and big money circulated and we were well shot of him. It's just unfortunate that at times so far this season, Morata has been just as inneffective as Costa was when his form fell off a cliff, but hopefully it's still a better long-term bit of business.

It's admirable how a few posters defend and stick by Conte. However, this goes hand in hand with putting all blame on the board: Conte is practically a deity, the board is villified. Where humans interact, it's never so unbalanced as that: I'm sure both carry responsibility for how their relationship has deteriorated, with our bad, sad run of results as a consequence.

What the Conte backers have on their side is that this has happened many times before. Seems every manager we have falls out with the board.

Sure, that"s true, but that doesn't make Conte totally blameless. If my boss had Conte's body and vocal language, I'd want to kick him, but seeing that would get me in trouble, I'd mentally sign off, as some of our players look to be doing.

Jose kept his job during his first season back despite winning f**k all, aslong as they were showing enough positive signs that we were on the upward curve i reckon they would have got atleast the second season. People might point to other CFC managers getting the chop early doors but it's a moot comparison because Scolari and AVB were not only failing to get results, but were showing no signs to point to that changing anytime soon, infact if anything things looked likely to get worse.

There’s no doubt Conte is a world class manager, but what has let him down this season is his attitude.

He clearly can do better than 5th/6th but he was more interested in moaning about the signings. Yes, he is very unlucky that we can’t finish our chances. If we did, we’d be in top 4 for sure.

But when you have a situation like that, you need to make a few changes and hope your luck changes. Rather than stick with the same team every week and hope for the best, not making any substitutes until 80th minute.

Its clear we aren’t going to sign world class players anymore, which Conte really wants.

Chelsea and Conte are on a entirely different boat so I think this summer, we get rid of Conte and go for a manager with a different mindset. Someone like Klopp or Pocchettino would be great, someone who isn’t desperate to spend huge amounts on world class players, are happy to turn good players into great players.

I admire what Klopp is doing at Liverpool. He has turned them into a great team with patience and persistence.

I think for the first time, we are happy to finish in top 4 rather than win trophies every season so we can actually afford to give the new manager time and patience.

I say keep Conte- he's allowed an off season

Give him a carte blanche for the summer and let him do his job. If we're not serious title contenders by Christmas give him the sack and get Zola or Lamps as interim.

Carte blanche? How many millions do you have in mind and who is going to meekly poney up?

Zola has so far been unimpressive in management and Lampard has no experience.

Any other ideas, preferably realistic?

Around 200 million, without trying to break even

Both of the two could give a significant boost in morale, especially Lampard

We keep going round in circles on this. I would like Conte to stay, but have pretty much accepted that ain't gonna happen. So then, like you, I like the idea of a coach in the mold of a Poch or Klopp and putting together a good squad whilst integrating some of the youth. All sounds great in theory but will our wonderful Board accept that? No trophies in first few seasons, perhaps no CL football? No, they want to do things on a budget but still expect the comveyor belt of success and as I say, we are on the CFC Merry-Go-Round of f**king Deja-Vu.................

Regarding Conte's body and vocal language. I've got two seperate points, touchline and interview demeanour.

Touchline- not long ago it was common for managers to watch the game from the stands. It gave them a better view, and a clearer picture of what was happening. If they had an instruction for a player or a tactical change to make, he would instruct a runner to go down to the dugout and that information would get relayed.

Nowadays it seems fashionable for the coach/ manager to be on the touchline waving his arms around, having a coronary at every decision that goes the other way. A lot of it is all for show IMO.

Since the atmosphere in grounds started to become sterile, broadcasters were dying to find some other way of displaying passion in the game. Cue the cameras focusing on touchline antics and general hysteria from coaches which probably has next to no influence on the outcome of the match. It just adds some colour and faux excitement. They probably hate someone like Poch over at Spurs who gets the job done without jumping up and down every two minutes. Infantile, all for show bollox IMO.

The demeanour of managers whilst being interviewed- Conte obviously here, is another matter. Has he been told by the powers above that his doom and gloom pronouncements ( he makes the Mona Lisa look like the Laugjing Policeman) and snidely remarks re transfer policy do not reflect well on the club?  What ever happened to look on the bright side?  Has he told them to stick it up their arse and he'll behave exactly how he wants?

Fcuk knows?

To expect someone with carte blanche to stop spending at £200 million, at a time when one decent player sets you back £75 million, is naive.

And we don't just need a morale boost, we need a manager who has proven his/her mettle in a tough league and in international matches. We should not automatically assume that someone who was a wonderful, popular player will take us to dizzying heights and a love-in with the board.

Which you can still blame on the boards daft transfers and insistence on a tiny squad.
