Jose Mourinho thread

lvg had a rough period during the beginning and middle parts of the season too, but he eventually pulled utd out the sh*t and got them a whisker away from 4th place and an FA cup. not trying to slight mourinho, but he should have done better with the team he had at his disposal.

Mourinho was handed a squad with several gaping holes this season while umited spent nearly 150m to plug the gaps in their squad.

Mourinho would have challenged for the title with the current united squad.

I can see Jose being very kind towards us fans. However towards the club, I can imagine that he's very bitter towards Roman and the board.

He treated the fans like crap when he was here, why would he suddenly respect Chelsea fans now he is an United

They will love him now he's at United, British journalism at its finest, last season we were boring and negative and the fact that we played great football for most of the season was completely forgotten about, but United are media darlings and they'll view him differently.

Back of my head I always thought he wanted this job above all jobs. He has a connection with SAF both in footballing terms and on personal. I think he'll do a great job there.

At Chelsea he threw his toys at the end. I honestly think he didn't have his heart with Chelsea for a reason or another last season.

We can only wish him luck at this point.

Can just see it now. Cutting out all those mistakes and united fans saying "he knows how to respect the traditions of a big club, Chelsea was just a small club where he thought he was the king and could do anything he wanted".

I would rather see Wenger win the league now over Jose if I'm perfectly honest. I really want him to fail at united

Some reports saying that some of the senior players are very hesistant about Jose taking over and Giggs will leave. I think the players will love him for the first couple of seasons.

I think that's the key to Jose taking over at United, it's whether he can work long term with them and not burn them out. If he can then I can see him staying long term.

I really don't think that will be the case. If things don't go well and the football served up is dull, he will get stick. Already talk of Zlatan being lined up and that won't go down well with Utd fans - especially if it means Rashford slips down the pecking order.

He always wanted to be at United, with their cash it's an easy option.  With my cynic's head on I think he played to get sacked as the writing was on the wall for LVG.  Because he was up against it at Chelsea, signing players he didn't want/not signing those he did, for the second time we never got to see how good a manager he was in difficult circumstances.

Thats quite a frightening thought when i think about it. Almost so i won't put it past him to do something like that, but i can't really convince myself to believe that is what happened eighter.

But i do think he always dreamed of managing ManUtd. Especially now maybe that both of Fergies successors have messed things up and he can come in and be the new hero in town.

Jose we know will burn them out and use mostly senior players. Win a couple of prizes and smoke himself out. I think utd saw they don't want to continue with LVG and didn't see any real successor for SAF in the market. Jose for quick fix.

This. I think it is exactly as you stated, "quick fix". There's was a report of recent of recent with photos of Fergie holding a meeting with Poch, think Utd have it all drawn up, the five yr deal might just be farce.

I dont think Jose has any grounds whatsoever to hold any ill feelings towards us.

The PR disasters he brought on the club were an embarrassment and we stuck by him, until he had us down in 17th, 4 wins from 16 games, horrendous toxic atmosphere, the trigger simply had to be pulled.

He should stay respectful. If he has any grace he will, but will he....

One things for sure - he'll still hate Wenger, he'll still hate Pep, he'll still hate the FA, referees, Liverpool etc etc ..........he'll hate everyone who is a remote threat and in the end that has proven time and time again to cause problems for himself and the club he represents.
