hate how fickle the game can be. it doesn't help either with the amount of glory supporters coming to the game and then demanding us to sign this player for 100m, or that player for 80m etc and spouting vitriol towards the board because a player didn't sign for us

Jose's systems perhaps work more in his favour than Conte's, so my annoyance isn't necessarily with losing him, but with losing him to a team that can make some use of him. Anyway, if we sign another solid midfield backup, and Bakayoko comes good, then I'm sure we'll forget all about him. 

You could have been excused thinking that Utd had signed Messi or Neymar the way BT were gushing over Matic at times last night. Matic this, Matic that.......surprised Chelsea let him go and how he was one of our main performers last season. Do they actually watch games? Funny how it went a little quiet when he lost possession a few times and fell over. Expect plenty more of that!!

There is nothing wrong with the game being fickle, that's actually part of the attraction, but all that moaning about the board doing nothing except letting players go is boring and predictable. As if anybody of us has any insight into the minds of the board members and what it is they're doing

You're always going to have people moaning when the board decides to sell Matic, or whoever, without bringing in replacements. So I'd say we're damn right to be complaining on here whenever Matic has a good game, and Fabregas is getting overrun in our midfield because we have no other options. If people here don't want to hear complaints about that, someone should tell Conte this too.

Neymars transfer is now the benchmark for 'top tier' players so it would be criminal if we get under £200 mil in my opinion

Matic played decently, positioned well, neat passing and his drive led to Utd's goal.

Man Utd has certainly improved their midfield with Matic anchoring play and the board is at fault here.  End of.

 

Danny Rose urges Tottenham to bring in big names 'you don't have to Google' to compete with rivals

 

 

Danny Rose has implored Tottenham bosses to splash the cash on big name players if they're to compete with their Premier League rivals.

Spurs have been notably quiet in the transfer window but have managed to keep most of their stars.

 

Rose says a statement before August 31 would be welcomed by the players.

“I am not saying buy ten players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players,” he says in an interview with The Sun.

 

Rose is proud of Spurs being a club that promotes young talent but a big name is what they need for the upcoming season at their temporary home of Wembley.

 

“Under Harry Redknapp we signed Rafa van der Vaart. It was like, ‘Wow, how did he do that?’" he said.

“I mean signings like that are what we need — that’s just my opinion.

“There are three weeks to go until the window shuts and you look at Man City and think, ‘If the window shut now they would be happy with the business they have done’."

I agree that he is certainly an improvement to their side, but only time will tell how much.

The thing with Matic is, he wasn't always as good as he could be, and yet he played a pretty good consistent role for us in the main. It's just the typical response, when he played indifferently and got slated on here, some would claim he'd actually played brilliantly. Now the positions will reverse and many of those that slated him will claim he's ripping up trees at Old Trafford while those who backed him as a blue will claim that his passing is poor and that he gets passed too easily. It's just the way it is.
