Unfortunately (well, maybe fortunate for us now) Italy missed the WC, where we could have seen his talents first hand. Unfortunately a “world class” talent like that doesnt go unnoticed till 26. Ill trust your word though and pass you the sword if youll need it otherwise.

I’d just rather talk him up and hope for the best.

He's been top drawer for them, and I think and hope jorginho has a similar impact here.

I do rate Jorginho but I'm not expecting big things, I'm not actually convinced he'll be better than Matic and reckon Ruben Neves may prove to be the better "deep lying playmaker" next season. Just because YOU didn´t notice him, doesn´t mean that the rest of the world didn´t. As a matter of fact, Barcelona have been after him for years now, and he has been widely regarded as one of the best mids in Italy for a few years now, but he is now on a whole new level thanks to Sarri. He will be IMMENSE for us next season, mark my words

July 13, 20188 yr Using Kante as an example is like using Drogba as an example of players suddenly improving dramatically in their late 20's. He is an outlier.
July 13, 20188 yr I have no doubt about Jorginho being a class player. Take the time to check his stats from last season - they are not to be sniffed at. Further, if Pep wants him, it says alot, as City are now only looking at players that can make a real difference to their squad. The interesting thing for me will be to see how Sarri uses Jorginho (if he comes) and Kante, as they effectively play in the same posiiton. Edited July 13, 20188 yr by Elliott

TBH even with these prices it seeems way overpriced to me. He might be worth more for you because he was a key player in Sarri's system and he will help implementing it in a new team more quickly which is not a minor advantage, but out of this context I would never pay over 30-35 M for him even in this market. He has a great short range play but is way more average in the long range passes for a deep play and he has only really excelled with Sarri's Napoli. With Italy and with Napoli before Sarri he has always been average. Anyway best of luck, I like Sarri who has shown great things with Napoli on the pitch, hopefully Chelsea will be wise enough to forbid him any interactions with journalists because he is terrible from that point of view Edited July 13, 20188 yr by B&Wlegends

You must be kidding me, the world is going mad I mean, your club just dropped over £100m on a 33 year old (34 come February). Jorginho is coming off the back of 3 good seasons and when you look at what other midfielders are going for it seems about right for the current market.
July 13, 20188 yr If he does come through, I'm just so happy we put one over City in the transfer market. They got the better us over so many deals in the past 5 years, for once we should get the player they wanted, sometimes I thought they just buy what we were into. Jorginho can't be an ordinary player if Pep wanted him, he got eagle eyes for midfielders who could pass and keep possession.

July 13, 20188 yr Were we ever REALLY in for Aguero and Walker, though? I'm not that sure about Stones, either. I thought that was probably his agent earning his commission, but I might be wrong about that. And the Robinho thing was just a classic, comedy gold f**k-up

I remember all of the links and drama that came along with that saga...I think we truly were in for him and thought he was ours. Glad it didn't work out though...

Sky Sports have just said Jorginho is in London for his medical as well, if anyone’s interested
