Jorginho is.... (well now was) a Blue

Moving to a club with a top of the table lead is the only chance he ever had of winning a top league title.

But a couple of years ago it was "never a chance to win any major titles" with Jorginho and he proved you wrong there didn't he?

Very happy for him. He deserved a better fan base support than he got during most of his time with us.

Took all the boos and ridicule in stride and never stopped trying. He may have lacked in certain areas as some would loudly proclaim but made up for it with a 100% professionalism, work ethic, attitude, call it what you may.

Thanks Jorginho. Keep on doing it smartly and easily.

If he does ball out under Arteta then I won't be surprised, I can imagine an attacking coach like Arteta will give us a glimpse of how Pep would have used him if we didn't snipe him. Maybe then those that didn't rate him as much will start to see him in a new light.

Hmm, no. Who is our most attacking manager? Lampard, by far. In fact too gung ho for my taste.

Who has been our most defensive manager? Tuchel, sometimes too conservative for my liking.

Jorgi played his best football under Tuchel and worse football under Lamp.

Jorgi has been with us for 4 years. It is clear what he is good at. He won't turn into yaya toure or pirlo.

Pretty sure the argument has always been he's good in cup competition but can't sustain it over a full 38 game season as he proved at every club he's been at.

Also, please answer my previous question directed at you. Who's he starting over at Arsenal?

On the contrary he's been our only midfielder who you can actually trust over a 38 game season. Even playing through injury for us when needed to keep us at least somewhat afloat.

He'll start over Partey or Xhaka.

He's been our only midfielder fit over the course of a 38 game season, doesn't mean he's been good enough to play there...

Partey and Xhaka have been a phenomenal duo in the league and largely one of the reasons Arsenal are top. Only way he starts over either is through injuries or court precedings.

Who is the rapist?

Bittersweet.  Always admire his attitude, availability (is important), his quality and his penalty taking!  We do need more going forward from midfield and I hope this marks a change for us.  All that said, he was a good professional and did a lot for our club.  Best wishes.

It all depends on how Artera wants to play him. Everyone though Xhaka was trash but now that he is being used correctly he has flourished. I believe the same will happen with jorginho , as long as he is paired with physical and fast players he will be great. Let's not forget he won the ucl and the euros being an integral starter in both teams

Who’s going to take our pens ?

apart from that, his best years are behind him so good business I feel

strange how him and Ziyech had decent games recently ? knew they are in the shop window ?

Opinions will differ on that. But at least he always showed up contrary to most of his colleagues in midfield who's been happy to pick up millions and millions from the club without showing up when it mattered most of the time. Just for that he should have had a lot of credit in the bank.

He won't play over them and he can't play their role.

I can see arteta bringing jorgi if they are 2-0 up and the game is done so they  can rest partey. You don't want to bring jorgi when you are only 1-0 up and your opp is throwing long ball at you.

With jorgi there is only one way to use him.

A leader and a good player who has served us well and made a pretty strong contribution to the trophies we've won in his time here.

That said he was obviously never in the class of a fabregas or a verratti, and it's clear his time had been probably rightly coming to an end at Chelsea.

Bit of a shame that he's been lately such a lightening rod for criticism, or treated as emblematic of larger failings of the team or the club IMO, as I don't think that's justified, but that's how it goes sometimes.

He's also the only midfielder we have who doesn't really bust a gut and sacrifice everything he has to stop an attack or make a last ditch tackle.

Odd criticism. He doesn't need to run around like a Kante or Gallagher when his positioning is normally fine and he has the highest interceptions.

I'm not happy about us selling him to Arsenal. Makes no sense to strengthen a rival when we are already struggling as it is in midfield. I would rather he left for a free, season isn't over yet he can still help us get CL football.
