Jorginho is.... (well now was) a Blue

At least adding n't to the thread title won't be too arduous ...

I think we will complete this deal even if the Enzo deal is off. Time for the other midfielders to step up. Great opportunity for RLC, Gallagher, Hall and Chukwuemeka, for example. And possibly even the likes of Charlie Webster.

We really are throwing in the towel if we are relying on them.

With Jorginho gone I look forward to which midfielder gets blamed next. Seeing as the number one scapegoat is playing for a rival.

This is just page 1 of 78 since last night, looks like Arsenal fans are thrilled for him to be joining!

they are turning it around now saying he is "experienced", Arteta knows what he's doing, they are saving for the summer etc.

the truth is their top targets were Joa Felix, Mudryk and Caicedo and they will all be playing for us i reckon

Aside from the obvious £12m instead of £0 in the summer, we also have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes, Jorginho could be the one pushing for this more than our hierarchy. He’ll always be a divisive figure, he’ll get the same treatment from Arsenal fans.

At least our attackers can now stat-pad with penalties and a new voice will emerge in the dressing room, I’d imagine it will be Thiago vice-captain before any Reece announcements.

I liked Jorginho

thought he was a top top lad

and he is a good player as well on the ball but some games he would really get exposed and i do agree that with him the other midfielders needed to compensate for him

He probably wants to stay in London…

Odd criticism. He doesn't need to run around like a Kante or Gallagher when his positioning is normally fine and he has the highest interceptions.

Doesn't make it untrue. He has longevity and is available 9/10. We had to take the bad and the good.

His time with us is over and it's better for everyone involved. Season is pretty much over for us. It's time to bed in new signings and make a real go towards the title next year

Would not have let him go, but what can you do? The club probably knew for a few months he was not going to sign a new contract. It was 12M now or lose him for free in the summer.

Short term, and I mean this season, he will do just fine for Arsenal. Long term, I don't know. He is not the fastest and gets caught very easy on the counter. But his positioning and football IQ are top notch.

But overall it's a good deal because we'd either have lost him for free, or get stuck with a soon to be 32 yo player on a 2-3 year contract which isn't ideal.

Appreciate all he’s achieved while he was here but he’s the master of the backwards/sideways boring ball I’ve come to loathe since Sarri arrived. If Arsenal throw away the league title now I’ll come back and praise him a bit.

Agree. He didn't fit in today style of City, Pool, now Arsenal, Newcastle, Utd. Even Spalletti don't use boring ball anymore.
