Funny how quick things go from "no one even wants Jorginho" to us getting £15 million from the league leaders for someone with 4 months left on their contract!

I mean I obviously hope this doesn't happen but if god for bid Arsenal do this I think the only way he's not the only winner of both the big two in the last three season's is if City win the UCL.

Will be another lucky coincidence I guess.

Looks like this is happening. I don't think there's ever been a more divisive player among Chelsea fans.

Ultimately think he's been a good player over the years and played a massive part in all of our recent success, but now is 100% the right time to move him on. He was probably at his best for us when Tuchel was here.

As I said yesterday I don't think he drastically improves Arsenal so I don't really care about him going there.

Cheers Jorgi!

Literally going there to ride the bench for a rapist after Arsenal missed out on all their main targets and we've been offering him out for months.

But sure, spin it how you like.

You are going to combust if he helps Arsenal to the title aren't you.

He'll start every game for them until the end of the season.

If we were losing mount or Kai to Arsenal I would be concerned but Jorginho will be Jorginho we know what to expect he won’t change them much.

and this is like there 8th or 9th option for the them he’s definitely not the main target

Agreed. Its a bit like the Willian move for me..

I'll be shocked if he is there to back up Partey. It make more sense playing him next to Partey

Great servant of the club wish him the best. Undoubtedly a great footballer, I have no idea how some don't see this. Limited in some ways, but highly underrated in what he excells at. Probably is the right time for him to move, but don't be surprised now if he helps Arsenal continue to excel.

Arteta has been very smart in his recruitment, Jorgi joins the two City players they signed in the summer as serial winners that only helps improve their dressing room attitude and behaviour.

Considering he was our only CM that regularly stayed fit, never complained I think he deserves credit for that. Since he joined we've been in at least 1 final every season and have always made top 4 (this season presumably would have been the anomaly although now we'll never know).

If he does ball out under Arteta then I won't be surprised, I can imagine an attacking coach like Arteta will give us a glimpse of how Pep would have used him if we didn't snipe him. Maybe then those that didn't rate him as much will start to see him in a new light.

Got to say that him joining Arsenal to reinforce their title bid seals my view on him. Hope his terrible lack of pace means they collapse and lose the title.

Glad to get some cash for him. Let's hope we don't spunk it all away on the latest shiny thing. Shame we dont play Arsenal at the Bridge. Fans could have booed him without any sense of guilt now.

Jorginho is the most skilled unappreciated player we have had in recent history. A great leader on and off pitch. Serial-winner. Great persona.

Arsenal as a team will strengthen massively with him. Not only on pitch but off as well. They really don't have Champion League winners there.

Thank you Jorgi! Good luck!

Jorgi has been wonderful servant for the club. He has many excellent games for us especially in cl where he is instrumental for us in winning our 2nd cl title.

He is quite limited and can only play in specific role in specific system, however unlike some midfielder, he is not lazy. He will run his sock off to cover ground and I always appreciate his gamesmanship. His understanding of where the ball need to go is one of his best skill-set.

He is likeable and has a very good underdog story. It is easy to appreciate how jorgi can reach this level until you read some of the comment on this thread.

I'd look down on any fan booing Jorginho. He's been an excellent servant. You can argue about whether he's as world class as some say, but he can't fault him as a person.

They enquired, they paid over the odds, and we accepted because we have too many players.

Who's he starting over?

If we don’t get Enzo or Caicedo we are in deep trouble in midfield.

I'd argue that he hasn't been played much this season anyway as his presence in midfield requires another player to mop up the bits he lacks and so precludes any progressive ingenuity.

Maybe that's because he didn't actually put himself in harms way that often

The fact that he was vice captain suggests he probably was an asset off the pitch. I'd argue however that he rarely led by example on the pitch and that is what we have lacked all over the pitch barring Thiago Silva
