Liverpool V Chelsea (LC) Wed 26th Sep 19:45 UK

I'm not sure that we actually played poorly, it just seemed that we tired massively second half and the passing game then fell apart. Most of Liverpool's impetus came from unforced errors by us. But i think our general play was okay. Its a shame that nobody from the second string look like they will challenge the first team though. In fact i was surprised that Kovacic looked like he went off the boil again.

Footnote: Why won't MS let us see CHO in competitive action. Please gaffer, give him a run out so we can at least see him.

It will break my heart to see Hazard leave.

But he deserves to go at the end of this season. Its the only way he can become the best in the world and get the recognition he deserves.  He has already done enough for us that I could never hate him, what a f**king player.

Enough of that nonsense!!

What an incredible goal from Hazard that was, absolutely top class.

Didn't see us finding a way back with their pressing really boxing us in, but I thought we (finally) upped the urgency at just the right moment.

Really missed Jorginho tonight, Cesc can pick a glorious pass when he has the time and space, but we were caught in midfield far too often, and the guilty party was often him or his pass putting someone else in trouble. In fairness, Barkley and Kante had moments too, but its so critical in that deep lying role.

Morata ran his socks off again but really doesn't hold possession anywhere near enough for a Premier League target man. We had no out ball without Giroud and Alonso, and I think Liverpool clocked that 2nd half when they started pressing higher.

Similar problems we've had all season, but its hard to take too much from a performance with so many rotations. Great win though, and I really fancy us at full strength against their first XI at the weekend. Roll on Saturday!

We were second best for long periods of that game but when you’ve got someone world class up front in Hazard, and mark my words he is the true definition of world class, then you can pull a goal out of nothing and that’s exactly what he did.

He is in probably the best form of his career right now, simply phenomenal.

Not the best of performances from us. Think we learned more about why certain players are ahead of others rather than players making a claim for the starting XI.

Barkley continues to show flashes but also has a few brain farts in him.

Luiz was an assured and calming presence when he came on in contrast to Christensen’s more nervy showing.

Fabregas, for me, looked to be trying to force the issue to much in that deeper role. That he couldn’t find space for long periods of the second half to get on the ball and play out suggests that he might not be suited to that role.

Willian. Pants.

Moses, some surprising flourishes forward but needs to find that final ball.

Dave, looked off the boil.

Cahill, life in the old dog yet.

Emerson, okay going forward. Defensively suspect though.

Kovacic, a work in progress.

Overall. How can you not be happy to beat the bin dippers?!

I'm pretty sure Sarri would have preferred not to bring on Haz, Kante and Luiz to be honest. The game pretty much forced his hand.

Not sure I'd pass a lie detector test to say we deserved the win, we were sloppy as f**k, and most of the fringe players looking to impress will have done more harm than good to their cause, but always nice to beat those scouse c**ts, and seeing Henderson so wound up being unable to stop Hazard was fantastic.

We scored more goals than they did, so we deserved to win.  Simple, mate.  Keep up.

You're right about the fringe players and how nice it is to beat the chicken-mourners though.

I'm actually sitting here grinning every time the Derby assistant, Jody keeps saying "us" sitting next to Carragher. Excellent.

He’s done it all night! Was his club as a kid and a fan.

I do have a feeling that this game tonight, even with our rotation, may well work against us at the weekend, with Klopp first hand reviewing our system. I'm glad we are at home. Another trip to Anfield so soon and i would be surprised to get anything.

Enjoy

the only thing I don't like about your video is the fact it missed Eden's nutmeg of Firmino - Eden making another case for him to be The Best Player on The Planet

I think Jorginho will struggle as much as Fabregas did in that second half. Liverpool are a pressing team and they won't give Jorginho a second to make his passes. If it was only Fabregas that was struggling under pressure, then I would agree with you, but it wasn't just him, it was all of them. Hopefully Jorginho proves me wrong and he shows how good he truly is with his one touch passing. It's going to need to be spot on against Liverpool's first 11.

same again on Saturday will do nicely

fed up with the pro-Liverpool presentation on Sky - it's bloody awful

Indeed. Laughable cnuts. As I said earlier in this thread, just wait for the " Chelsea getting away with ugly football tactics and liverpool robbed of two clear pens and a red card for moses" BS from Sky. Or the alternative BS going like : "kloop making intelligent rotation and unlucky to lose vs Sarri going with a full squad" hahah !! UTC
