Speaking of Scouse scumbugs, there’s this: Liverpool fans raid service stations again on route to Wembley The sheer blatent-ness of it all is what gets me. The f**kers are openly boasting about nicking as much as they can from motorways service stations, making a “who can rob the most” competition out of it. Thats absolutely fine considering the last couple of years, Unless they all had maga hats waving flags nothing to see move along!!!
May 16, 20224 yr Have the feeling this sale is never done until it's truly signed off and money paid. It maybe just another media click bait, but if Roman it's not getting his money back ( by all reasons he should), we could go under, and the government will happy to let it happen just to make a point. Saturday was heart breaking, but that was nothing compares to what could happen, if the British government still plays political game with CFC's life.

Exactly. Get everyone in a room, lock the door and let them out when it's agreed.

The sanctions don't determine who you can pay money to, it determines who you can't. So if Boehly pays and the funds go into escrow, Chelsea is sold and free to progress. It then becomes a sanctions issue between Roman and UK Gov to sort out between them.

It takes a special kind of stupid to post pictures of yourself with your stolen goods all over social media. Not that the motorway service station owners don't deserve it - profiteering w**kers that they all are ...
May 17, 20224 yr It is also telling of the uncertainty and general pessimism that this saga has generated just among this board that last night we secured our champions league slot for next season in absentia and yet it appears to have barely raised a ripple here let alone a thread of it's own from what I can see.

We’re not Arsenal - qualifying for the CL shouldn’t be celebrated as an achievement it should be considered a bare minimum requirement.
May 17, 20224 yr I really would prefer that the sale was now expedited by all parties, there seems to be far too much dithering. Apparently this is coming from RA and his team, as there is again dispute over precisely where the funds are to be sent. FFS, they must have had this agreed during due diligence, Raine are charging more than £1m in fees, so surely this important detail was put to bed? You can almost feel the media and oppo fans salivating and sharpening their pencils, making sure their Ipads are charged and drafting their Twitter, FB and Insta posts about Chelsea going out of business 🤬🤬🤬 F*ck it, I'm getting too old for all of this stress !!

Probably a few hundred grand of actual work at the very most, and then a nice fat piss-taking profit on top.
May 17, 20224 yr I do wonder how much the press are just joking up dots in the wrong way. This was never going to be straight forward and a comment by a Civil Servant over a glass of red suddenly becomes headline news. The sale is a complex ( it shouldn’t be ) set of agreements that will all need to be signed off before the club changes hands. Of course there is a period of anxiety but as anyone who has every bought a house will know the easy bit is to agree to buy the house the next couple of weeks or months should I say are fraught and you have hurdle after hurdle to get over

But it is in this year. A club whose very existence is in doubt, failure to win any of the main trophies, a manager going through personal upheaval on top of these work pressures a team bereft of confidence and our best player in our last match being Real Madrid's Centre back. All things considered it wouldn't have surprised me at all if we'd got the sucker punch and missed out on the CL. Of course its not a point of celebration but as was mentioned it is still a bloody big relief because if this is the third best football team in the country...Fck me Edited May 17, 20224 yr by WhiteWall

Even if we somehow conspired to lose at home to both an on the beach Leicester and an abysmal Watford the chances of both Arsenal and Spurs winning out and punishing us for it were very slim as it proved.

I don't want to be THAT guy, but I think stressing over football us a bit silly considering the cost of living is rising, people are generally struggling right now. People struggling with cost of living while footballers are running about being paid most people's yearly salaries in a week, just seems so wrong. If it's sports vs real life, it's real life everyday. Of course Chelsea football club is important and it's survival is imperative. I also think that football has gone OTT in regards to the sickening amount of money involved, while still being a so called 'working man's sport' Edited May 17, 20224 yr by enigma

I also think that football has gone OTT in regards to the sickening amount of money involved, while still being a so called 'working man's sport' People can be concerned about more than one thing at the same time. My bills have gone up a ridiculous amount since the energy increases. That doesn't mean I can't also be concerned about the future of my football club. It's also more than just the football - it's the relationship you build up with people you go with and sit with, the beers before and after a game. If the club went bust it would have a negative impact on the 42,000 that go week in week that work their arse off through the week and the football and the day out that comes with it is a relief for them at the weekend. Some of the best moments of my life have been following this club up and down the country. So yeah forgive me for being concerned about what the future holds for the club. Due to my own personal circumstances now I can only go a handful of times each season. But there are people who devote much more of their time and life to it. I think we are all entitled to be concerned. That concern in no way shape or form takes anything away from people being concerned about the cost of living etc.
