Chelsea vs Spuds (PL) Wed 27th Feb 20:00 GMT

Featured Replies

I didn't catch all the match due to dinner and the stream cutting in and out.

We looked solid tonight thought was a close contest.

Pedro took his goal well and like others have commented that tackle in the box was risky yet well executed as was the following run up the pitch.

A good all round performance tonight, surprisingly for me as I thought we got the team wrong. For me the intensity we played against Spurs was the difference and the determination to beat them to the ball.

Alonso seemed much better and Azpi was good getting up the pitch on the right.

Higuaín closed the opposition reasonably well though did not link up well, think the pace of the game was too quick for him.

Jorginho also was caught at times by the pace of the game yet contributed also.

Re Pedro's finishing, think he favours his left and against City it fell to his right.

It would appear we got the tactics correct in the last two matches I hope this continues.

I suspect Sarri did not wait for Poch not because of the weekend yet more likely disliked something Poch did on the touchline.

Also surprisingly Eriksen was free at times to pass, we didn't seem to close him down of all people, tactic or error.... not sure.

Next three games are vital.

If we beat Wolves, Everton and Fulham then we're in the driving seat for top 4.

Spurs, Arsenal and United all play eachother. United and Arsenal are away to Wolves in the coming weeks as well whereas we are at home.

We've also got a game in hand against Brighton.

Great win, surprised nobody gave Kovacic a shout out though, thought he was sublime in his pressing, tackling and ball retention in tight areas under pressure. I thought Jorginho was poor again, and as loathe as I am to criticise him given how good I thought he was in the beginning of the season, he just looks tired and leggy and out of ideas. A spell on the bench might do him a bit of good and let us run with a midfield of Kante, Kova and RLC

Whatever happens now this season, at least we fcuked that lot up in two competitions...

now my usual match of the day rant...just catching up with highlights and as always the coverage of Kane incidents/behaviour was shocking...started with commentator suggesting Chelsea had no reason to complain/were making a meal of things about Kane pressing high up the pitch and putting Luiz under pressure. He ignored it was a shocking lack of sportsmanship - we knock ball out for Trippier to get treatment and instead of giving it back at half way line, they knock it long and Kane chases after it to seek an advantage.

leads to bust-up as our players rightfully get pissed and that's when Kane aims the headbutt at Dave...not for first time, motd panel look at blatant red card retrospective job involving Kane and dismiss it, laugh it off. Same with elbow on Luiz later on (although that was more of a 50-50).

Fed up of this bollox with Kane and spurs when every time Chelsea player does anything, they highlight it and pass judgement, call for bans etc

The defensive effort by the whole team was amazing to watch. I won't be questioning Sarri's lineup after this win, I wanted to see RLC and CHO in the starting lineup but Kovacic and Pedro had a great game. It always feels so special to beat spuds.

Kane is England's best striker, the refs in the PL are treating him differently than others. It's similar to Rooney back in his prime telling referees to f**k off ten times a game and being talked to instead of getting a card.

Man I really don't want to break the magic for you so will put it in a spoiler tag.

Its just the commentary from his world cup goal dubbed over last nights game

Unless I'm also missing a joke here :|

Personally I don't think Kovacic did anything special, though I certainly agree he was much better than Jorginho who once again often struggled to cope with the sheer speed and intensity of the game. Any other manager and he would surely have been subbed.

Kovacic obviously has good feet, but boy does he need to go the local End Product shop and buy a big box full.
