May 13, 20242 yr I would actually want him to go to the Euros (doubt Southgate would select him after he declined the selection in the winter but yeah). If this surgery hasn't fixed him then he'd go down again whether then or next season anyway but if it has then he's got a heavily competitive tournament under his belt and England would have basically got rid of any rust (not much judging by Saturday) in his game for us.

I really like the guy and hopes he can stay fit but like @bisright1says, if he can't give us more than half a season of being fit we should look to sell at first opportunity. yes REAL MADRID should be the only team we should sell to, they said they would like him in the transfer window after next

The risk vs reward of being fully ready for next season though... If I were him I would see beyond this summer and focus on the club + World Cup. It doesn't matter that he looked good vs N.Forest when you look at the big picture of how much he struggled, he could get injured after a single sprint in the past and one match doesn't show that he should be given the full green light to spend the summer playing as if nothing has happened. After all it's a long season even if we don't get to play in Europe. If he goes to the Euros and does get injured everyone will be talking how he shouldn't have risked it, it's not a given that he gets injured if he gives himself more time and invests into the new season, the operation might have been perfect but he still should consider saving himself.
May 13, 20242 yr He was oddly distracted during the Sky post match interview. Still panting slightly, and bemused about who the interviewer was talking about when it was actually Palmer, standing next to him. Hopefully the op has him sorted out, a terrific player when on top of his form. Unfortunately academy players are all at risk of being sold ..

May 14, 20242 yr In the hypothetical we do manage Europa League, we are in for a very busy 2024/25 season. 8 group stage matches now instead of 6, plus we have the Club World Cup in the summer.
May 14, 20242 yr Every time I see a new post on this thread I think he must have gotten injured again

Anyway, apparently we've actually sold the whole academy site at Cobham maybe we won't have to sell players. Hey, Spurs playing a high line tonight, should be fun 😜
May 15, 20242 yr What’s a stupid thing to do 🤬🤬🤬 almost cost us the win he needs to cut this sh*t out. Also doesn’t the red carry into next season? Edited May 15, 20242 yr by El regreso

Will miss the first two games of the season. I also assume this means he doesn't go to the euros as well. He's going to regret that all summer.
May 15, 20242 yr I won't go in on Reece for what he did. Brighton were being dirty tonight, Lamptey socking Mudryk the top of the list, including actor Pedro trying to stamp on Reece. However Reece needs to learn from this and grow up a bit. He is a captain now, he cannot do this and miss the start of next season, for 3 games by the sounds of it.
May 15, 20242 yr Only fit for 3 games this season and got 2 red cards. I love Reece, but that is ridiculous. Edited May 15, 20242 yr by ross91690

Agree it was stupid but that on its own wouldn't have been the main thing that cost the win. Jackson's absolutely pathetic performance tonight would have had much more bearing IMO.

At least do a Brighton player properly then not a little petulant girl kick. embarrasing from him and nearly cost his team the game as captain. He will now miss 3-4 games and personally it will likely cost him any chance of going to the euros.
May 15, 20242 yr Honestly, if I was manager of England I’d still take him to Euros. Nobody comes close to him really.
May 15, 20242 yr Really daft from James, from a free kick that was ours as well. It could cost him 4 league matches and a place in the Euros now that Southgate has got the excuse that he hasn't played enough minutes. As club captain he should know better, he'll regret this for a long time I feel.
