December 21, 20232 yr sh*t to lose him for this long but I think surgery might be the only thing that could save his career with us, we can't carry on rehabbing him and he gets injured again within 3/4 games. Really hope it works out for him.

December 21, 20232 yr Good for him. I’m sure it was a tough decision but ultimately it should benefit him long term. Definitely need a someone in January now.
December 21, 20232 yr I wouldn't mind if he misses the rest of the season, it's not like we have any chance of reaching top 6 anyway so I really hope that for once nobody rushes him back.

The only one rushing him back will be James himself. He has already missed the WC, and no longer a dead cert with Southgate.
December 21, 20232 yr Hopefully surgery gets everything cleared up. I’d rather lose reece for an extended period of time than continue to see him and the club down the path they’ve been down. im gutted for him needing surgery, but ya repeat of what I just said, hopefully it clears it all up.
December 21, 20232 yr Ryan Giggs had tremendous problems with his hamstrings early in his career. Different diet, training regime and yoga gave the longevity in his career after he had considered retiring early. Fingers crossed Reece similarly can overcome this problem.
December 21, 20232 yr If Reece has the same issue in both hamstrings will he need this same surgery in the other one I wonder? Or did they do both in this surgery?
December 22, 20232 yr Annoyingly a lot of the hate and negativity he's talking about is from our own fans including a fair few people on here.
December 22, 20232 yr If people are abusing a player for getting injured .. I don’t know what to say. We as humans are good at creating tools and terrible at using them. Social media is the best example .. it was meant to bring people together and connect them.. and all we use it for is to abuse / bully /harass / con / even initiate genocides .. I made a decision not to be on such hate spewing platforms 8 years ago .. and I am glad for it.

One of Reece's advantages as a player is his frame but I think it would be beneficial to his problems to be a bit leaner.

This is the myth though isn't it ? He ain't exactly fat LOL. You can see his abs, plus plenty of vascularity ... Best of luck to him in his recuperation. I think the things Charierre mentioned a few posts back will be key ...

December 22, 20232 yr It's not "hate" to say we should strongly consider selling him, which is what quite a few people have come around to. It's not his fault, but we can't keep paying him obscene wages every week to play about 10 games a season.

Why use the word "obscene " when talking about his wages, that's unnecessary bollocks and exactly what he's talking about.

Nobody should use the word "obscene" to describe a footballers wages because it might upset Reece James? 😂 I think you've had enough Internet today. Put the keyboard down and take a break. 😂
December 22, 20232 yr On 21/12/2023 at 08:46, just said: You might have a long wait. The way Dan Burn just eased him out of the way from reaching Gallagher's through ball doesn't inspire confidence. Drogba or Costa would have left Burn on his arse staring at the sky. Happy to give him a season to adjust like Drogba needed. Wasn't until JT or Lamps took him to one side before we saw the beast emerge. Costa was just wired differently and loved a fight as well as football. Patience is key to this season for me as a fan. Starting to see some of Poch's work taking root. up and downs for rest of season.

But that has literally nothing to do with an Injury, its just a nonsense way to bash a player. Or is there a cut off where wages aren't "obscene" and we shouldn't sell a player? December 22, 20232 yr As mentioned above, I’m sure this was a difficult decision. Nothing but support and good wishes for a healthy and speedy recovery. Can’t wait to see him back in Chelsea blue - better days ahead!

He only gets bought if he’s playing regularly and if he’s playing regularly he won’t be sold. We will also likely have him insured against long term injuries. December 22, 20232 yr Honestly. f**k the euros. I want to know if his career is saved from these chronic hamstring injuries.
